Well, you could always be a massive dick and give the thief hope and remove the fuel pump fuse? That way he gets all of 10 feet away before the car stalls out and he is left with a really stupid look on his face.
Then, pop the fuse back in, prime the fuel line and you are off!
@Elementlmage Or you could loop a hidden switch into its power supply wire. Taking the fuse out every time would be a pain in the ass. I have one on the starter circuit.
@scottykilmer if the thieve was smart thay would unbolt the break pedel from the firewall and angel the whole contraption so he can press the break pedel after rebolting it but that will take 15-20 min and thieves dont like talking that long or just slid it off at the end than rebolt it but its a time factor
@bugsz328 if you look at the clutch, theres a little switch with two wires. you cut them and tie them together, then you can start the car in gear, and shift without the clutch after your moving.
ha aall the comments about manuals are harder to steal are funny ,... theives will steal anything ,.. if they cant drive stick they will learn on yours ha and you DONT want that ,...
@katsumorymoto No, ALL those gas mileage myth machines don't work, I would not give legitimacy on any of them. I did a clip years ago showing how HHO doesn't work, past that, I don't know what they added onto any clip they shot. And you don't need to swear. Scotty
@jetmoto120 Yea, I've got one of those lying around from a TV shot years ago. but the stupid thing kept killing the battery, they were kind of dumb. Scotty
might be best just to install a hidden DIY killswitch to the ignition barrel so they cant plug it then invest in a non cheap ass immobliser system with a back up alarm thats wired to its own 9 volt battery
@TheMaryjaneist Not a good idea, say, on a 110 degree Fahrenheit day. Or on one that dips below freezing. Dogs are not machines; they are beings that need love.
@jbsniperboy yes, you can take anything off, but takes a long time to do that. You're trying to make em steal the car next to yours that's easier to do. Thieves are lazy, otherwise they'd have jobs. Scotty
@outdoorsman310 That is an idea, except where would you store it? Scotty, what about removing the fuel regulator? A mechanic showed me what the fuel regulator does; at least in the '93 Dodge Dakota (which I had then) it unplugs and plugs back in. I am inferring that they are all rather small, so can be put into a small baggie and stored in a desk drawer or purse until you go back out to your vehicle. Would that mess up the computer?
@KECOG i dont know about the computer probably not you could put the battery somewhere but that would be pretty hilarious and it definetly wouldnt get stolen because who walks around with a battery?
Hey Scotty, you might want to suggest what we in California call the "car lock" We splice into the headlight circuit and tie it into the starter circuit. So, in order to start the car, you have to pull the lever back that operates the high beam.
This would work great on a NEW vehicle. On older ones where the brake/shifter mechanism no longer works, you don't even need to touch the brakes to put it in gear.
You should do a video of how to set up a ignition kill switch. Keep up the good work by the way.
And to all the people who keep saying using the e-brake can stop the car really good, while driving very fast - good luck with that. I would love to see that happen without the car fish tailing or spinning out.
Hey scotty, but would this work on the gas pedal?...i understand they are going really fast but if there stealing a car why would they want to slow down?
@julian675 yup because even if you use the pedal lock on the clutch, you can jump the clutch interlock wires, adn just start it in gear and shift without using the clutch.
@scottykilmer Lol good call. I like your videos. I guarantee you wont remember but I asked you some questions while re-building my WRX a long time ago. The overhaul came out great : )
@lavid2006 You still have to use the Break to move and automatik transmission into drive mate and of course on a manual the thing would get in the way.
this invention is a waste cause the handbreak can be used as long as u dnt go ova a 100mph/kp and even if it srcap up where its going they dnt care thats the least
@mynameiscot the handbrake is about 5% of the vehicles brakes,it wouldn't really do any good to use that to help the car to stop. It's meant to keep a car from rolling down a hill, not stop from 20-50 mph.
This reminds me. When I first got my '86 vette in '02 it came with no door keys so I could not lock it. Despite being VATS equipped (chip on key) I would remove the fuel pump fuse. Fuse was my key. And since the gas pedal was real easy to disconnect I would take the whole gas pedal with me lol.
I used to joke that with no gas pedal I could catch up with the theif as he slowly coasted under torque converter inertia if he managed to start it. Or at least help the cops catch up with a vette.
I bet you get alot of people tellling how they can steal the car with that brake lock and Yeah yeah the rule of thumb A thief can steal allmost anything if he wants it bad enough but most thieves wants to be fast get and go and with the break lock your percentage of getting your car stolen is greatly redused thanks for the Video
Dear Scotty, The pedal Jack didn't work at all when I stole my slammed '81 Lincoln Continental. All we did was hotwire the car, and not use the breaking system. Instead, we loaded the car down with all 8 of my children and all six of theirs. The car was so heavy that it barely moved. When we needed to stop, Juan would jump out and fling himself in front of the tires. He said it hurt, but that it was okay because this was better than having to work.
@LOLDISNEYLAND You're not the first one to suggest that, read below. But you can't drive a car very fast with an emergency brake, they have very little stopping power. And generally thieves drive REALLY fast. Scotty
@scottykilmer lol very true one time my brakes failed on me and i had to drive with the emergency brake. almost died a couple of times but it worked.... sort of lol
Haha. A car theif isn't going to break into your car while dragging a bulky oxygen tank behind him to power a bright torch that will light up his position at night like a christmas tree.
Most theives look for easy cars of opportunity with little or no security so they won't likely bother with all that nonsense you speak. Car theives want to get in and get out fast not sit there wasting time.
Ah I see. Then again I wouldn't know the tricks of the trade since I'm not a real car theif. If someone wants your car bad enough they will probably get it one way or another.
Hopefully no viewers decide to apply these techinques in real life in an illegal manner lol.
@TranceScene best thing to do disconnect little wire from starter but not battery wire just wire for key start use switch hidden somewhere inside or outside when u start with ur key trun it will not work unless u flip switch on then u trun ur key it will start ur engine
@ISAH23I Well, I've seen much dumber, and this thing does work quite well. And if you steal a car, and don't drive very fast, you'll get caught. Scotty Kilmer
Well, you can't really drive a car without having brakes. And your shift interlock is just broken in your car, the little device on the shifter would just be inoperative now. Be happy it isn't broken the other way so you couldn't put it into gear. Scotty Kilmer
thanks Scotty your videos are very helpful I have a Jeep Cherokee 97 but I have a big question and I hope you could help me. I know my car uses a timing chain and I know is much better than if it use a timing belt, right?...Now my question is: Do I need to change the timing chain together with the water pump? Someone told me I need to change it and other person told me that my jeep doesn't need to have the timing chain replaced since is using chain and not belt it will last for longer. thanks :D
Na, leave it alone, those chains last a LONG time. Just continue changing your oil and filter regularly to lubricate the chain with clean oil. IF the chain ever does wear, any mechanic can tell you in five seconds by hooking up a timing light and watching the result. scotty kilmer
OK, Mr. Scotty I will trust you then. By the way my car have 163,5451 miles on it. What do you think? Do I still have Jeep for longer? I always change the engine oil and filter at every 3000 miles but what about the transmission fluid? How often do I have to flush it? Is it fair to pay 120 bucks for only flushing the transmission fluid? And is true that my Jeep Cherokee DOESN'T HAVE transmission filter, that's what the mechanic told me. I hope you could help me again and thanks 4 the videos!!
The tranny fluid should be changed every thirty thousand miles. BUT, if you haven't done this regularly, leave it ALONE. flushing and changing the fluid in such an old tranny can make it stop working or slip. there is a filter, but it's only a small screen to most guys just clean it out and reuse it. Scotty Kilmer
Sure, but they don't stop very well, that's why they're called emergency brakes. Plus, if it's an automatic, you won't be able to get it out of park with the brake stuck off. Scotty Kilmer
New cars are easier to get into the key switch..I used to have a 1967 Mustang that I wired the hot ignition wire (on the dash) to the interior light switch...put a fake dead wire to the iginition switch .I'd turn off the interior light switch and igintion switch was dead.
and when people would ask me if I wanted to sell it, I'd ask them for a name and number if I ever decided to sell..sure..
they'd be the first one I'd go looking for if my Tang were missing..
The only thing bad about this tool is the fact that it's relatively hard for a thief to see. They would be breaking the window before they realize it has this tool, thereby costing you to repair the window. Other than that, it's a great way to keep from having the car stolen at any rate.
Nice Camaro. I might look into getting one of these for my car. Your videos are really well made too, im surprised you dont have more subscribers. Keep up the good work though!
Your comment doesn't make much sense. The device has a built in hard to pick lock with a special cerrated four cornered key. It ratchets in tight and can not be removed without inserting that key and unlocking the ratchet. Scotty Kilmer
I wonder how many seconds it would take a cold heat pen to slice through that federally approved tempered steel. Heck, another couple of seconds you could probably meld the foot petal right back on too.
Hey, this is an anti theft device. Anyone who REALLY wants to steal a car and has experience in doing so will take that car. The point is to make your car a bigger pain to steal than the car next to yours. Then you've got better odds that it will be left alone. Scotty Kilmer
Ah, but it stops many thiefs because they are lazy and scared. It would take a LONG time to cut through that tempered steel with a hacksaw to remove the device. Speed is what a thief needs, he'll go on to the next car if yours is going to take time. Scotty Kilmer
Im not disagreeing with you in anyway. Anything to slow them down. Thats why room in my house is keyed. :D when I leave I Lock them all. It wont stop anyone, but it will slow them down, and they will get tired of kick dooring about the 3rd door. Another trick was to always park next to a much nicer car. Peace. Have fun with it.
Yeah Guy, haven't you ever placed your car on emergency brake when you parked, and then came back you forgot about the e-brake and drove for a while a little slower than usual? The car still moves! PLUS on most cars you need to press the break down to shift gears, like from park to drive, reverse...
Ah, you don't know much about cars, do you? Emergency brakes apply very LITTLE power to the braking system. They are emergency brakes to hold a vehicle from rolling when parked on inclines, you could never seriously drive a car, especially fast, using just the emergency brakes.
My friend got one of those stuck on his brake pedal, we had to grind the brake lock, we didnt know any better. Took forever too.

BUT, if you haven't done this regularly, leave it ALONE. flushing and changing the fluid in such an old tranny can make it stop working or slip. there is a filter, but it's only a small screen to most guys just clean it out and reuse it. without brakes can't u just use the e brake?
vintimv001 2 years ago

Keep up the good work though!

wow yea it says how to keep your car from getting stolen... but if theres no other device to lock it for good you could just release it...
enemyracing 3 years ago
Your comment doesn't make much sense. The device has a built in hard to pick lock with a special cerrated four cornered key. It ratchets in tight and can not be removed without inserting that key and unlocking the ratchet. Scotty Kilmer

oooooooooooooohhhh i was about to say it would be dumb to have it and not have a key

Its like a window. It only stops an honest person.
redsamuraidragon 2 years ago
Ah, but it stops many thiefs because they are lazy and scared. It would take a LONG time to cut through that tempered steel with a hacksaw to remove the device. Speed is what a thief needs, he'll go on to the next car if yours is going to take time. Scotty Kilmer

Im not disagreeing with you in anyway. Anything to slow them down. Thats why room in my house is keyed. :D when I leave I Lock them all. It wont stop anyone, but it will slow them down, and they will get tired of kick dooring about the 3rd door. Another trick was to always park next to a much nicer car. Peace. Have fun with it.

e-brake
momoeverywhere 3 years ago
Yeah Guy, haven't you ever placed your car on emergency brake when you parked, and then came back you forgot about the e-brake and drove for a while a little slower than usual? The car still moves! PLUS on most cars you need to press the break down to shift gears, like from park to drive, reverse...
MiamiBeat7 3 years ago 2
@MiamiBeat7 ever heard of a little button called shiftlock?
TCreatorO 9 months ago
Ah, you don't know much about cars, do you? Emergency brakes apply very LITTLE power to the braking system. They are emergency brakes to hold a vehicle from rolling when parked on inclines, you could never seriously drive a car, especially fast, using just the emergency brakes.

they dont need a break u use the e-break idiot
