  • I'd rather watch this than that xma crap that's been going on right now...

  • Wushu is a martial art, but it's more about the art than the fighting.... Still love it though, the moves are so intricate

  • Man wushu is beautiful.

  • @josesblima then dont hit me when i punched ur face :)

  • Too all MMA and UFC lovers . If u think they that good then fight one on one with kungfu fighter with a stick or a sword !!!!

  • I'm going to start Wushu after i get 3rd Dan in Shotokan Karate :)

  • love how to spear goes slo mo when he throws it at the ground

  • name of song plz

  • @Bullmastic 男兒當自強( Nan er dang zi qiang ) pretty old song...

  • Whats the name of the song ???? O.o

  • is that tumbling floor or why can they fly?

  • what's this sopng called?

  • incredible team

  • song name?

  • wushu is not use to fight because it preforming a from but every move in the form can be used to kill

  • @Namriu94 yea seriously, when are you gonna ever leap into a crouching stance when fighting someone?

  • @utra1337 man you never know , ignorance like that is whats setting back real martial arts and letting crap like the mma thrive.

  • @Namriu94 ok one thing all chinese style fighters do is to AVOID going to the floor, because there is very little chinese techniques related to ground fighting (unlike judo or wrestling). In chinses sparring matches, when the opponent goes to the floor it is considered a loss, where as in real fighting, ground fighiting is still fighting. So, you can see why when you fight an expierenced jujitsu practitioner, and go to the floor first, it would not be a good idea, especially when your leg is out

  • @utra1337 that because when your on the floor and you opponent is still standing you do kinda lose. keeping a low stance at certain points of a fight gives the one in the stance an advantage if there on the defensive side , because a grapper would have to lower them selves to them . going to the floor to fight is good if your pulling you opponent down not if your falling toward them. The styles that make mma are great on there own, its just the MMA i find inadequate

  • This is pretty sweet it's like really hardcore hardcore dancing haha

  • The best Wushu team in China, also Jet Li comes from this team!

  • @BusyLeo and Wu Jing :D

  • This is beautiful.

  • This is performance art,its designed to entertained, and yes im entertained, very good demos. But never effective in a fight, unlike other wushu styles like wing chun, choy lei fut, hung gar, etc.

  • @MechPhantom LOL are you sure????? XD

did you know that wushu athletes are pretty much faster and stronger than most of wing chun, choy lee fut, hung gar practitioners?

Traditional wushu is also useless in a fight........

  • @mryoda Nah they are not that fast, they are only fast when performing, but their real punching and kicking speed arnt that fast ,just like the shaolin, they are very fast in their forms, weapon speed and acrobatics skills, but real fighting speed not taht fast than people who train to fight only,e.g. wing chun, etc. So yea wushu will get their ass kicked for sure unless u hv proof,if not nah wushu suck big time, and will get killd in fights no doubt.

  • @mryoda To sum up wushu is just a perforamnce art ,not to be used in a fight and will never will be. wing chun, etc other arts art used and trained to kill fight in fights and the battlefield, not wushu. After all the communists made wushu less fighting art and more performance oriented art to prevent rebellion from the local people. So yea wushu cant be used to fight ,its a sport thats why its under the olympic sport, its not martial anymore, its more so called "martial" sport than a martial art.

  • @mryoda continued. SNot only dat how can a performer beat a real fighter? i can tell ur siding with wushu, but u need to know the truth, its a performing art not a fighting art and its useless to use it to fight,How can flip help to win a fight?and wat are the chances of u finding a weapon and using it? even if u hv it ,u wont know how to aplly the weapon in a fight, after all its only used in performance to entertain. So yea its like trying to say a ballet can beat a boxer, which is impossible

  • @mryoda so now be prepared to be blocked by me,REMEBER WUSHU SUCK BIG TIME,its a fucking sport not a fighting art and u will get killed in a real fight using it . And forever it will suck remember dat and it will always will be. !!!!

  • @MechPhantom LOOOOOOOL you are probably one of those traditional fat asses who thinks he is very good at fighting just because he studies chinese martial arts. :P hahaha what an asshole........

    Yes it is a sport.....

No, it is not used for a fight....

    But,

traditional martial arts suck, they can't be used either.

  • @mryoda anyone who teaches you wushu without teaching you how it's used is doing it wrong. lots of wushu people know how to apply their moves, and drill the applications. of course, lots don't.

wushu vs traditional? 99% of traditional schools have no idea what they're talking about. they're either bullshit or lost it along the way. you're better off learning pure sport wushu, then at least you build some explosive power. this is true almost all the time.

wushu haters hate cause they can't jump

  • @wooshoo You're right. And also people in the modern wushu also learn self-defense in the hours in which you train. Otherwise, read wikipedia or other sites if you do not believe me.

  • BJJ

  • wushu is kind of art, but it also can kick one;s ass

  • what is the name of music?

  • wow just incredible. The art of wushu is something truly to behold.

  • I think, wushu practitioners work harder than any martial artist there is. Or even more than any athlete X_X.

  • @fangsclaws

Gymnasts my friend. They are the hardest working athletes.

  • i wonder how long have they been doing wushu?! how i wish i can be as good as they are.

  • i absolutely loved these performances.

then i found out that contemporary wushu was a lie created by the chinese government.

eh. still cool to watch, tho...

  • @jakeisawesome91 Agreed.

Regardless of the boundless fitness benefits, the mental and spiritual refinement, and its roots in traditional wushu - it still is and always will be an attempt by those running the PRC to disarm the Chinese people.

Thousands of years of martial history, struggle, and application - diluted to something akin to figure skating.

But it's REALLY fun to practice.

  • @Clown7916

couldn't have said it better, bro.

  • @ninpokid A true Martial ART ist more than competition.. Serious martial arts are for ur whole life not just the time between 20 and 30. Think about it!

  • @ninpokid martial art is about improving yourself not about punching others...

  • @josesblima Actually martial art is exactly about punching others.

  • @fireorfrog imho MA has lost its function to punch others when people started shooting each other. I'd call it an art, self improvement and reflection, not a means to show off how good you are(n't).

  • @DJGahann there are plenty of other ways to do this. And protecting yourself with a gun is often problematic for many reasons. I have protected myself before using my fists. I have never shot anyone. And when I studied martial arts (taekwondo and long fist kung fu in my case), my teacher showed me techniques that can kill a person, and specifically said that these are not to be used unless I want to risk going to prison.

  • @fireorfrog oh I definitely believe in the lethality of properly applied martial arts, as well as plenty of people out there using it in real life situations. I'm just saying good ol' fashioned "brawling" is becoming a thing of the past more and more (even if it only were because it can get you sued in many ways, here in the Netherlands at least)

  • Comment removed

  • @josesblima Depends on what kind of martial art, and your reasons for studying it. I learn martial arts to be a fighter, not a performer. But that's just me.

  • @josesblima If martial arts was solely about improving yourself, then by that logic can we say that doing analytical calculus, or painting a landscape is a martial art, because it doesnt involve punching others and involves improving yourself? Martial Arts is about fighting, and encompasses discipline and philosophy, but center to is is combat and spirit. If you dont have comabt or spirit then its not martial arts.

  • @utra1337 Well the term "kung fu" in Chinese means great skill or accomplishment through hard work, so doing analytical calculus, or painting a landscape can be considered kung fu. I think the way you see martial arts is more modern than most of us. Just sayin....

  • @Jphan16 the term "gong fu" means hard work. The term "wu shu" directly translates toe art of combat... just sayin

  • @utra1337 Yeah I know that XD. I just wanted to pointed it out that your examples could be considered kung fu.

  • @Jphan16 yea kung fu has a very broad meaning, but the literal wushu, has a very specific meaning... in particular the term 武, means "combat related". So if a bunch of dancers start going about doing absolutely nothing related to combat, and yet calling the it the skill of combat, is pretty misleading. I think the whole "modern wushu" thing is totally killing off what chinese martial arts really stood for...

  • @utra1337 I agree. Modern wushu is kinda killing the traditional stuff..

  • @Jphan16 Yea, I don't want to insult "sport wushu" altogether, its actually pretty creative sometimes. It takes elements from all old traditional forms and puts it into one, and add in some basic acrobatics. But what really chesses me about "modern wushu", is how they hold competitions, where judges mark you on you forms, based on criteria like how low your stance is or, how 'proper' you do a tornado kick. There is no proper way to do a tornado kick, but when someone does it well, you can tell

  • @Jphan16 Yea, I mean i like changing up tradition and making new forms, and creating new moves. But modern wushu is now just another way to promote chinese propaganda, in such a way it ruins chinese culture. I mean in wushu competitions ur only restricted to to a few difficulty moves B-twist, and aerial-twist. And your form has to last so-and-so, legs have to be pointed. Chinese officials are "regulating" this new wushu now... this is not in the spirit of chinese martial arts.

  • @utra1337 I practice Shaolin kung fu...........:)

  • @Jphan16 whatever you practice, its the spirit that counts... Never forget that martial arts is used for fighting, but not used to pick fights. And martial arts should never used for organized competition, unlike "sport wushu". Good luck to u with shaolin kungfu (PS I use to practice wushu, tkd, and did some acrobatics, i was on the demo team lol).

  • @utra1337 so is there any fighting in the wushu u study? thx

  • @utra1337 nonsense.

  • Comment removed

  • @ninpokid I agree, chinese martial arts is not wushu. Chinese martial arts is shaolin. wushu was something created by the communist party to promote chinese nationalism. Real chinese kungfu is practiced by the monks who live up in secluded mountains. Although alot of wushu forms are borrowed from shaolin, shaolin was a fighting system actually created to fend off japanese pirates, and when u punch someone it hurts. Some of modern wushu today is all dance and no power.

  • @utra1337 retard

  • @ninpokid lol dumbass. watch some kung fu movies. and some forms by pros. you dont stand a fucking judged by your noobness of that comment

  • @AsyanoTV ... What?

  • @ninpokid wushu=MARTIAL ART. translation.

and, your ass will SO get kicked by this hella strong shit

  • @AsyanoTV ... Yes? Thats what I meant... I called out the guys who keeps claiming wushu is not a real martial art, and those who claim that we are not serious martial artists :P (The guy I replied to deleted his account)

  • @AsyanoTV wushu the sport focuses almost entirely on aesthetic. wushu the term can apply to a lot of things even horse riding is considered wushu.

  • you know humility is also a great trait for any martial art... look it up

  • @showman188 i felt like laughing when I saw your comment. you obviously don't know a single thing about fighting. lol at kids

  • people on youtube must be really retarded. i mean, i don't know anyone in real life who will watch tv shows they hate just to get angry.

  • the guy in black on 1:08 is freaking badass! u know your badass when the color of your uniform is black and white

  • 0:33 .... effortlessly. Could probably do it blind folded :-) GO WUSHU!!!

  • my favorite video by far

  • the last spear form looks really good!

  • what is the name of the guy at the start

  • his name is li neng miao

  • Comment removed

  • Incredibly athletic display of martial artistry!

  • whats the name of the song

  • man of determination - once upon time in china is the name of the music.

  • This is absolutely beautiful. I'm always mesmerized by excellent martial artists, and my favourite kinds to watch are Shaolin kung fu and wushu. The Beijing team is obviously one of the best, and it's so interesting to watch the practice.

I myself used to practice Shaolin kung fu, but can no longer do it due to nasty knee problems (hopefully, the corrective surgery will allow me to someday go back to my studio). People like the ones in this video really inspire me to try and go back to it. :)

  • Asians are the best!

  • 2 mins - 2:20 is wudi right ?

  • does anyone know the name of the form at 1:21-1:30?

  • hey tatumi85, where did you practise wushu??? is it in Canada?? or US??

  • No. In Finland, Scandinavian.

  • Not only speed but also stances and rhythm are perfect too. Those're important things in wushu. I used to practise modern wushu few years ago but I had to quit because my lower back injury.

  • my brain exploded

  • That explains why they are in the Beijijng team

  • Their speed is ridiculously fast.

  • The song is in once upon a time in china. It's sung by Jackie Chan in this version I think!

  • Wow, its amazing that some people can do this kind of stuff. I bet they had to train for a long time to be able to do these moves.

  • yup they had to say atleast 10 years or at least least 9 years adn that too when they were young something like 7 or 8 years

  • I think what fascinates me most is how nobody else around them is staring, absolutely mesmerized haha

  • anyone knows the name of the guy doing staff?

  • for the people who live in houston

the houston songshan shaolin temple has 2 members of the beijing wushu team teaching classes there. i just thought if your interested then u can go check it out

  • are you by any chance learning there alrdy?? then i may have seen u

  • what is the name of music?¿

  • Once Upon a Time in China theme song

    or

    "A Man of Determination"

  • 2 questions:

first, this song is sing by jackie? :O

second, this team here is for a show or a fighting competition?

    thnx for answering

  • I don't think it's Jackie singing this one - the song's pretty popular - a classic.

And the team here is THE Bejing Wushu Team - the best wushu athletes of China. They are mostly for form demonstration tournaments and the like but they can also participate in sanshou fighting tournaments as well.

  • originally by George Lam, Jackie Chan made a remake of the song.

  • for anyone who wants the know the songs it called Wong Fei Hong Theme - Jackie Chan

  • como se iama la cancion? :O

  • No COmment...Great Moves...

    Simply WonderFULL...:)

  • song IS jACKIE CHAN ^^

  • sometimes i just want to practice wushu all day long

  • the secound last guy(the one in black) he was doing druckin fist martial art

  • ignor this post was ment for the prevois video in play list sorry

  • For all the wushu haters out there:

Don't come and watch wushu videos if you think they're so "gay", nobody's forcing you and you could probably be doing something more productive.

Wushu is a true martial art practiced for over four thousand years and used to train the soldiers of warlords like Qin Shi Huang and Genghis Khan. Those of you who think that it has no practical application are deluded.

(And you don't actually "land on your balls", your calves and quads take the impact.)

  • Sorry, I meant calves and hamstrings.

    My bad

  • @eclipse992

chinese army and police(and othrer countries) uses it, i think they wouldn't if it doesn't works...

  • @LegioXHispanica they use sanda lol not wuushu, wushu is basically useless in a fight.

  • @MechPhantom well, yes of course, I was referring to kung fu techniques and specially Qin-na

  • @LegioXHispanica yea sanda and qin na combinations are good in a fight lol unlike acrobatic wushu. Thx bro for ur smart reply, see you soon

  • shi kun and wudi rock. they're my favorite on the team

  • folks who keep talking about whos better then who its not the style its the person behind the styles as hellsdivine said there is no ultimate style it depends on who has more experiance and skill. Yes ive seen many martial artist get beaten on the streets at the same time ive seen many more beat the crap out of multiple people in the streets simply because of there understanding and training and yes training does make a huge difference it conditions your body so you are capible of doing this.

  • thats a BIG IF

  • wushu

  • i believe it's once upon a time in china

  • oh yeah to the blatent idiot talking about pistols few if any street confontations involve guns and if they did any martial artist would put their hands up and walk away. martial arts arent about wnning every little pointless battle. they are about defeating your strongest enemy, yourself. do this and nothing can stand in your way. lets stop fighting bout whats better than what and just appreciate wushu for what it is.

  • Defeating and INTEGRATING your ego and watching it become accustomed to buddha mind.

  • cool tune. once upon a time in china music with guitars cool. oh yeah muay thai is different form of martial arts. yes a wushu fighter would lose if he or she were to fight in the fashion portraid here but this is more an expression of physical ability and technique than fighting prowess. check out some san do or even jeet kun do if you wanna see the more practical forms kung fu and wushu have taken. to say muay thai is just better is very small minded because they both have good points.

  • Thumbs up for you for making me lol.

  • Who is that in the yellow shirt? Li Qiang?

  • lblfg-u play volleyball? and ur calling everyone else fags? hahahaahahaahahahaaha ur gayer than i thought!

  • lblfg-ummm..it is martial arts ok heres a small lesson in chines *wushu* is the word for martial arts ok *wu* meaning military or fighting and *shu* meaning art

soooo just by its name it is a martial art

do u know how much dedication this shit takes? god ur and ignorant...and arrogant asshole

plus anime is japanese cartoons or whatever this is chinese

  • cool. now all the need is liberty.

  • I have the Chinese CD for OUaTiC, and they credit Jackie Chan.

  • it is jackie chan singing , it was for the movie drunken master, in once upon a time in china there was someone else singing
