In the 80's and early 90's,I remember when WPIX and WWOR had viewing coverage as far south as Philadelphia, but since it was a violation of the FCC, there were coverage blackouts frequently, but looking at this sure brings back memories, for a young girl in South Jersey back then!

That's true! PIX had crazy coverage. I live in Connecticut and I got this station!! Since we switched cable providers, IDK if PIX is still shown in our area.

When I lived in Ocean County, we had this station, along with all of the other NYC stations. I moved to Atlantic County, New Jersey, and we no longer have these great stations.

Boy, do I remember this ident - reminds me of Saturday afternoon Yankee games!

I thought that WPIX was at least half decent before it affiliated with the WB and then the CW. When UPN folded last year I thought it would be the end network television. BOY HOW WRONG I WAS. The only station that I get that's indepenent is WSBK Boston. All of the other stations that family gets are affiliated either with Fox or with the CW.

"Some 19 year old"??? Do I detect ageism??? That wasn't cool at all. Yes, even for my age this may not seem "old" I must admit, but even at my age I've witnessed WPIX's transformation from a small-time, unique superstation to a glossy, lifeless WB/CW affiliate, which sucks. So any pre-WB WPIX clips are welcomed by me with nostalgia (specifically the 2nd "Circle 11" era) and preference over today's lifeless "CW11".

Hmm, not sure why this one would be considered "retro". It's all relative, I guess. For me, retro is 70s or older. To some 19 year old, retro is the 80s! That 'PIX station ID isn't *incredibly* old...

Did anyone manage to catch WPIX's relaunch as "CW 11"? They showed a clip of all of their previous logos including this one, before unveiling the new logo. It was great, PM me if you saw it.
