  • i accidentally charged my Dynam 1800mAh 11.1v 15c lipo all night last night...about 12 hours or more.....it doesnt seem puffed....and it didnt explode. Did i get lucky?

  • @moron32 it depends on the numer of the cells , in your case probably is 3 cell , one cell has minimum voltage of 2.50 volts and 4.25 volts , if you go outside this range they will detonate / throw flames

  • @moron32 ops maximum voltage of 4.25 v i mean

  • Beauty

    great video.

  • my friend A.J. did that once.

  • what gadgets use this battery?

  • Rc cars/boats/planes/helicopters

  • oh thx

  • some mobile phones too

  • @devlin0497 Handheld drills

  • @devlin0497 some radio controlled cars

  • @devlin0497 ALL phones. ALL Laptops, every hobby device in the world. Then international space station, etc.

The question should be what gadget doesn't use it?

  • @mtnbikerET lol are you kidding i overcharge my phone and psp all the time but it doesn't explode

  • @devlin0497 The chargers you use have a chip inside of them that cuts off the current once your battery is done charging.

  • @mtnbikerET oh ok thanks

  • @devlin0497 No problem :)

  • Question: I love going to the park with my slash , I put the Novak 3.5 R motor in it. and a Lipo Battery, 5400 Mah two cell 7.4 V by Team Check Point(suppose to be a goo Company). I ran a 13 Tooth Gear on the motor(very low gearing), and after about two minutes of running the truck, the battery reached 165 degrees and swelled up. motor and speed control stayed only warm to the touch, not even hot. Charged battery with proper charger and settings to. is this a defective battery?

  • ANY battery will blow if you overcharge it, lead acid, nicd, nmhd, lithion ect.

  • YEAH! I put microcontroller circuitry onto LiPo battery. I also programmed it if there are any short or overcharge, it cut off MOSFET gating, thus killing the juice - in another word, it's being protected by a measly a computer chip.

  • @DrMario2007baka You have no idea what you're talking about. All your terminology is wrong.

  • Yes Li-Po's are dangerous, if you ignore the safety instructions. Only fools ignore safety instructions. Any decent computerised charger will never do this.

    Li-Po's are safe.

  • test

  • They also have peak detection built in to the charger and will also shut off in case of a short (like shown here). This is NOT a problem. Please rename this video "What happens when you do something retarded with a LiPo".

Might as well show someone throwing a LiPo in a camp-fire.

  • This also looks to be a large mAH pack (maybe 4000 or so?) I run 1320's in almost all of my foam electrics and they work GREAT! The power to weight ratio is amazing. I'll never go back to NiMH or NiCD. LiPo is the way to go! Just make a mental note not to connect your battery directly to a car battery. That's what it takes to make this happen. In real life, you're charging at 1 amp per 1000 mah so my batteries charge at 1.3 amps.

  • yes, they are totally safe as long as you don't puncture one or try charging it improperly, like corkguykev said.

  • Boring for the first 30 seconds, but for the rest, awesome :D

  • that is only happening cos theyre charging them on a current way too high to use regularly. lipos are very safe. i use em all the time in electric helicopters and planes. never had a problem or even heard of one at our club either!!!

  • Yeah I don't think I will be getting one of those soon.

  • Good video... not going to get LiPo any time soon :D
