someone keeps breaking into my appartment ive tried motion detectors, magnetic sensors, xtra locks nothing is working icant figure out how they are doing it, they are vandalizing my property i think there might be a camera in there can anyone help

This is great in the sense that it will alert you if someone broke in while you are home. Especially if you dont have a dog. I have all 3... Alarm..Dog..Gun. Im confident my wife or I would have enough time to get to the gun and the clip which is loaded but hidden separately in our bedroom.

Having a system without having it monitored is like having a car alarm, how many people call the cops when they hear a car alarm going off? Its the same with your home, when its going off they just smash it and it turns off, you need to have it monitored, and you can always get this whole system for FREE with any alarm company.

truedcskater: You can't get this system FREE with any alarm company...at least not really free. With the DIY model, you pay wholesale pricing for the system, but you also pay wholesale pricing for monitoring. There are a number of companies that offer monitoring for less than $10 per month, and either no contract, or a one year contract. With the "free" system model, you usually pay over $30 per month for at least three years. So, there's no upfront cost...but you're paying for the system.

Also, does this system HAVE to be hooked up to a central station. I would like a system with an alarm but not one that contacts a company. Help?

The system does NOT have to be hooked up to a central station. You can purchase the system, set it up and then self-monitor. Visit the website for more info.

What happens if its summer and you have your windows open and you arm the windows/doors. Will it ignore it or can you turn only the windows off and jeep the doors on?

You can vent your windows by purchasing venting switches. This will allow the window to be open 4 to 6 inches without breaking contact and setting off an alarm.
