I keep reading "Too Long a Solitude" over and over again. I am trying to get the rhythm of the words. I am working on a jazz opera for kids. It is part of a special project to keep jazz alive in the schools and to get kids excited about poetry. James Ragan bought me a copy of his book at the Los Angeles Festival of Books at USC and now I am hooked. He took the time to help me fall in love with his poems. He is a great man and we need more of him and his poems in our K-12 schools.
