  • Should have done the one where he's in the cell for the video

  • @riazorblue honestly... Is that all you have? Nothing better to do? Face it, the only reason you're making fun of Americans over the Internet because you want to look smart. Look! I laugh at American! Respect and laugh with me! You're just as bad as us...

  • wtf ?

  • All Blacks- Haka- Kapa O Pango watch this video for a real haka its not the one vs argentina

  • this is fuckin disgrace, anyone who gives this idiot props for drawing ta moko on his arm and pretending like he gives a fuck is an idiot too, their not putting nz on the map they dont even acknowledge where it comes from or what it represents . fucking yanks disrespecting whole culture in a low budget film.

  • For people saying that they do this just to look cool, need to watch the movie and realize that's not the point at all....

  • never do anything that will embarrass yourself, your family, or your team. kia kaha

  • im not kiwi or anything, but seriously leave it to the maori. it might be disrespectful. lets all respect each others cultures.

  • thank u america for giving us maoris a bit of world wide publicity :) i think its coz wea 2 poor haha but yeah not to bad on th haka also couldve been taught better but hey im not complaining ive seen worse here in new zealand haha

  • Because Americans have no culture of their own they hijack somebody elses and completly destroy it. The Haka is cool when its done by the All Blacks in a packed stadium. Not cool when done by American kids trying to be cool. The lengths Americans go to to try and be different in a nation of a quater of a billion is hillarious. hey look at me Im doing the Haka, its different, you must respect me! Yanks you have to love em, their ignorance is very entertaining.

  • @riazorblue this is respect and just showing how strong the haka is

  • best movie ever <3 i´ve seen it 4 times and want to see it again i nearly almost cry when rick is huggin coach when coach told him that he can be captian <3

  • Crack up

Not too bad ha but can see the Maori fullas in their that are doing the haka.

  • @18rjos Pretty sure they are prob tongans, not maoris.

  • This is Pathetic... i mean he cant even say they words right, and there is no emotion what so ever, im sick on the USA doing movies about other counrtys, dude you guys always mess it up.... it should have been done in New Zealand.................

  • awsome!

  • i want that song

  • hahahaha love to see this team vs an Aussie of NZ team!

  • @rubentherude In the 90s or something they came to NZ for a tour an played, think they went unbeaten, read it somewhere around the same year they played in the world schools competition, might have been 98. I dont think they played NZ boys high schools, like Christchurch/Southland, Hamilton etc, think they played NZ mormon schools.

  • Pathetic

  • bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • not enough emotion i think still not bad though, i mean they aint the all blacks ahhaah

  • I wonder if they even know what the translation of the haka is.

  • not bad, alot of maori wouldn't agree to this, but this movie was based on the brother hood of these boys and in the past, the guy that created this story, brought haka and maori meanings to utah, and used these ways in his everyday life, and he used it for others to teach respect. maori are forgetting that he used our ways that we dont really use anymore. this movie reminded me of how we were all there for each other back home, no such thing anymore. haka was ok, ive seen worse

  • Kia Ora

This is a disgrace, typical yanks, bullshit if you Going to do the haka to it properly

This team would get cut up if they came to nz

  • My teacher actually went to school with the guy that they based this story on and he told us the real version of it, they got the story completely wrong XD

  • @animer6 Its a movie dramatization.

  • Fucking best actor ive ever seen

  • I am from New Zealand and I am a Maori. I enjoy doing the Haka: Ka Mate and Tika Tonu.

  • The only reason I watched it cuz Sean Farris he us so cook

  • That would be scary

  • I dont know very much about this culture but when the guy expalins it in the movie i really i like its meaning i am seriously conserdering coming out to this in my next mma fight.

  • I got chills :)

  • Ringa pakia ! Uma tiraha ! Turi whatia ! Hope whai ake ! Waewae takahia kia kino ! Ka mate ! Ka mate ! Ka ora ! Ka mate ! Ka mate ! Ka ora ! Tenei te tangata puhuru huru Nana nei i tiki mai, Whakawhiti te ra A upane ! ka upane ! A upane ! ka upane ! Whiti te ra ! Hi !
  • what a disgrace to the Maori

  • " I want you to be forever strong off the filed so you can be forever on the field "

  • ive watched this six times it never gets old

  • im a maori fulla... and i gotta say after watchen this film i fucking hated it.... they don't do it right AT ALL, they're yelling and waving their arms round like a bunch of retards, no heart, no mana.... drove me fucking crazy!!!!

P.S never back down was also shit

  • @oinah182 i soooo agree im from nz and i completly hate this movie.. a bunch of americans who thnk they can steal our haka.. its so disrespectful them doing it and then translating it wrong.. fukn hate it

  • @NikzPureKiwi the haka is from pacific islanders

  • @joelyrolly69 this haka is MAORI from New Zealand. Each Pacific Island has there own Haka that has there own meaning and there language, this is difnntly Maori and it the meaning behind it is about a Maori Warrior in a Kumara Patch. Preparing to fight. Im Maori and brought up knowing this.

  • @joelyrolly69 no it isnt. pacific islanders have their own.

  • the best..love it

  • is that jake tyler?... where ryan mcarthy?

  • @THEOAKCAT It is the same guy that had the role of Jake Tyler in Never Back Down, but this is entirely another movie.

  • @scoutmacedonia i pretty sure he knew that xD

  • @scoutmacedonia its a joke dumbass

  • Kia Kaha ♥

  • I'm from New Zealand and I'm not offended at all....think that if you want to see the haka done properly though you should watch the All Blacks though....they are the most feared Rugby team in the world (with a win record of 75% over a 100 year period and even better since turning professional), nobody does it better.

  • Ka mate ka mate ka ora ka ora ka mate ka mate ka ora ka ora. Tenei te tangata puhuru huru. Nana nei i tiki mai whakawhiti te ra. A upane ka upane! A upane ka upane upane kaupane whiti te ra

  • KA MATE! KA MATE! KA ORA, KA ORA, KA MATE! KA MATE! KA ORA, KA ORA, TENEI TE TANGATA, PU'RU-HURU, NA'A NEI TIKI, MAI WHAKA-WHITI TERA! UPANE! KA UPANE! A UPANE! KA UPANE!

    Here are the lyrics

  • Maori Haka: Ka mate! Ka mate!(It is death for me) Ka ora! Ka ora!(I live!) Ka mate! Ka mate!(It is death for me) Ka ora! Ka ora!(I live!) Tenei te tangata puhuru-huru (Behold the brave man Nana nei i tiki mai, (literally the hairy man)) Whakawhiti te ra!(who has caused the sun to shine again) Aue upane! Aue kaupane!(Up the ladder) Aue upane, kaupane (Up and up) Whiti te ra! (Into the light of the sun)
  • @MegaBooooooooooooo sorta wrong lol :/

  • This is how you get beast mode flowing right here!

  • ¿ALGUIEN SABE DONDE PUEDO VER LA PELICULA EN ESPAÑOL SIN SUBTITULOS? ¿PODRIA SER QUE NO LLEGO A ESPAÑA?

  • When i saw the dad mouthing the words i started to tear up(,:

  • @MrPepsilover13 i know the feeling... 7 times i watched it, 7 times i got the same feeling :)

  • fuck forever strong. we all know highland is only good because the fucking mormons ship over Polynesians. have a real 100% american team and then see how good you are. My boner is forever stronger, suck it

  • so, i've heard that this movie is based on actual events. do the actual team play the haka or it was just sth they decided to put in the movie?

  • @kiwieboss The team actually does the Haka

  • @getrdone5678 i thought the actual team doesnt and they added it in??

  • lol if they r gunna do it they should at least do it right

    too fast an wasnt intimidating

  • If I were a kiwi I would be heavily offended by this...I bet none of the dudes on the team are even from NZ...thats like a USA club soccer team randomly singing the Mexican national anthem or something...

  • @SmithJohn19 Like I wrote above, NZ should feel honored because these boys honored the culture. If another country loved America and sang our national anthem because they honored the message then I would feel honored.

  • @vanmoody we would be honoured if they sung it right and translated it right. Its a Maori Tradition thats done at birthdays, weddings and funerals, and its been turned into a mockery in this movie.

  • where can i watch this movie browser online? i'm from germany and there is nothing i can buy this movie anyway in shop or borrow me in video stores..

  • i loveeee this song and movie:)

  • hahahaha that is some embarrassing shit.

  • sean hot gorgeous my dream boy ilove him

  • I dont mind them using the Haka aslong as they do it right. IF they do it badly then its time to open a Pukana of whoopass.

The Haka in the film, was damn alright. Kia Kaha, and im happy to have learned that they asked for permission to use it on the film and even learn it the right way.

  • hahaha.. 0:12 "RING A PAKEHA"

  • @courtenataylorr If you actually bother to see the movie, you would notice that there is several New Zealanders who play for that team and also they give a explanation to what the haka is about.

  • very good movie....sean farris is great...why are you arguing about haka..its good for everybody to learn something about maori culture...

  • no mames esta poca madre!, and I don´t care if the americans did, it wasn´t offensive.

  • no mamesesta poca madre!, and I don´t care if the americans did it wasn´t offensive.

  • haha yeeh yeeh

  • All these people are like "this is so offensive to see Americans doing this" what is so wrong with Americans?!?! What did we do to you?

  • @Caboose1234567891234 You guys stole our traditional maori war dance in which it should not be used unless by a true NZ team. That is embarrassing to watch and is really offensive.

  • @Caboose1234567891234 its not just americans, its anyone who does it.

  • I love this dance it is so amazing

  • @courtenaytaylorr Dude, it is a movie, why do you sweat about it? I am sure that the makers have done their homework about the NZ culture and heritage..

  • @scoutmacedonia, being a NZer, you guys ripped off rugby from England. Relax, this is a world sport.

  • @DaisyDube The Haka just isnt used in rugby. its used by Maoris as respect, its performed at weddings, funerals & bdays..

  • @scoutmacedonia And it's based off a real team with real New Zealand teammates, where they got it.

  • @courtenaytaylorr Well, you of course have the right to believe whatever you wish, but I don't think they were trying to be offensive... I think it's really cool. What is so wrong with being interested in another culture? (I'm American and I think other cultures are very interesting and I have only the highest respect for them).

  • @courtenaytaylorr your a gumby

  • @courtenaytaylorr IRC they got permission to do this from the All Blacks and a Maori tribe. It's done out of respect.

  • @courtenaytaylorr stuid girl go to nz nd leave us the f alone its a frickin movie get over it

  • @courtenaytaylorr They didnt butcher it did they?

  • @courtenaytaylorr Its not from NZ its from the Māori in Polynesian mythology.

  • @courtenaytaylorr i'm pretty sure they didn't have intentions of insulting the new zealander culture. in my perspectivei think they're actually respecting it showing how it makes a team more like a brotherhood, and like scoutmacedonia said i'm pretty sure they've done their homework.

  • Comment removed

  • @courtenaytaylorr They are not doing it to "steal" ur culture, they do it to honor all those who sacraficed for them.

  • @courtenaytaylorr I don't think they're trying to rip anybody off, But its a way of expressing the warrior spirit like the traditional Moari warriors, if anything I'd say they're trying to honor them, by looking up to them and their example, and performing their dance is a reminder, same with people practicing bushido, you don't have to be japanese to do that, look at the all blacks they perform the dance, and I know they are New Zealanders, but can only New Zealanders be inspired by NZ culture?

  • @courtenaytaylorr im surprised theyve actually got some maoris to be in the team, but still it doesnt matter that much as the rest is just americans;)

  • @courtenaytaylorr,mate i dnt think they were desrespecting our culture in any way its a movie and being a maori my self i am so happy for them performing it,so get out of ya lil nut shell and share ya culture to the rest of the world ya stumbn lil kiwi..gud on the americans..

  • @courtenaytaylorr I agree with you mate I am welsh the haka is an all black tradtion fucking yanks got steal everything form everybody else give a few years and they'll be telling the rest of world that rugby was invented over there like they think basketball was and golf.

  • @courtenaytaylorr

This is a scene from a movie based on Highland Rugby. They are considered one of the best U-19 Teams in America Every Year. They do not do it to offend anyone, but to show their respect for the game. Its not meant to be offensive

  • @courtenaytaylorr They weren't trying to be offensive, they were trying to be like New Zealanders. You must really dislike living in New Zealand, since you dislike seeing things that are from New Zealand even if they are out of the country.

  • @courtenaytaylorr Shouldn't you feel honored that American boys took something from your culture that they valued? In the movie that was how it was portrayed. They weren't making fun of your culture, they were honoring it. So you should feel honored because that is what they are doing.

  • @courtenaytaylorr America knows a good, cool thing when it sees it. El Plubrius Unum. Just because you don't use it to fight the British in battle anymore doesn't mean you have a monopoly on it. Either lighten up or piss off, disgrace to Maori.

  • =)) love Sean

  • Verga se me paran los pelos

  • i love this movie!

  • this is a great movie. one of the best i've seen. and the Highland rugby team has been doing this for over what 30 years now? they have permission to do so. they usually always have Maori people on their team. so dont say they stole it.

  • @ddh34 They dont have the permission actually. If you read your facts a maori decided when he joined the Highlanders that they should perform this. They are performing it wrong and as well as the pronunciation of it too. Very offensive. It dosent matter if the team has maoris in it but the team originates in America and it still does to this day.

  • this is actually so offensive to anybody that is maori, to see americans doing the haka

  • @fitzy845 I disagree. I'm from a minority culture, and if someone used my cultural traditions in a way that was respectful, I wouldn't feel offended. I don't believe that Japanese feel offended when people preform Yoga. What's there to be offended about? The message they sent in the movie, (anyway, what i got out of it) was that is was a group of young men, proud of who they were, and this is one way they showed that they were a brotherhood. And there are Moari players on the team.

  • pukana..bleeh!!!

  • Its inspiring and feels wid strenght!!!

  • i wanna learn to do that and the saying i wanna know it

  • 'Forever Strong' by Sink to See is now available on iTunes!

    Sink to See

  • it's not a song. It's a chant. A war chant actually.

  • To be best inspired you better watch NZ Maori Vs Ireland or NZ All Blacks in the world cup performing the Haka.

    Kia Ora

  • thiis is always stuck iin my head. even thought i dont know what it means. :P

  • God I love rubgy!!!! Kia kaha.

  • I LOVED this movie!

  • this is a great movie awesome at doin the haka to.

  • such a good film

  • an amazing movie!!! i'm more of a football person but i would love to do the haka before a game that would be awesome

  • This is the most awesome movie! It's a MUST WATCH.... Great moral.

  • Respect from Brazil!

great philosophy... and great movie too. =]

  • ya rot ta ba ga ram bo

  • This is an AWESOME movie!!! When I visited New Zealand, I was able attend a traditional Maori ceremony and saw some of the tribal men perform the Haka. It's hair-raising and chilling at the same time! Wonderful tradition! May it never die!

  • this makes me proud to be a new zealand

  • hahah no they dont :D:D

  • UUhhhh no they don't. They're saying "Whakawhiti" (pronounced faahhhk-aahhh-feeety) which means to cross over. This is one of the most prominent and sacred Maori haka there is so I suggest that you be a bit more careful with comments in future.

  • @TeeNicol can you please dude translate the whole song? i'd really like to understand what they are saying. I know that ka-mate ka-ora means - I may live , i may die ..

    tnx in advance.

  • scoutmacedonia Sure, this haka was composed by a man called Te Rauparaha who was under threat from a rival tribe and facing life or death hid in a kumara (sweet potato) pit (some people say underneath bushes and some say underneath a woman and her bushes :-P).

The haka itself is about triumph of life over death. the entire haka goes like this:

  • Kikiki kakaka kauana! Kei waniwania taku tara Kei tarawahia, kei te rua i te kerokero! He pounga rahui te uira ka rarapa Ketekete kau ana to peru kairiri Mau au e koro e Hi! Ha! Ka wehi au ka matakana, Ko wai te tangata kia rere ure? Tirohanga ngā rua rerarera Ngā rua kuri kakanui i raro! Aha ha! Ka Mate Ka Mate Ka ora ka ora x2 Tēnei te tangata pūhuruhuru Nāna nei i tiki mai whakawhiti te rā Ā, upane! ka upane! Ā, upane, ka upane (kaupane), whiti te ra!
  • The main bit (from ka mate ka mate) means:

I may live, I may live, I may die, I may die x2.

This is the Hairy person (could be the woman)

Who blocked out (literally crossed over) the sun.

A step upward, another step upward!

A step upward, another step upward, the Sun shines!

    Hope that helps.

  • @TeeNicol yea man translate the whole thing

  • Comment removed

  • @cocofroshie Dude you really shouldn't disrespect like that, that's just wrong

  • id be scared if a team did that before the game. awesome movie

  • The All Blacks do it before every game. That's where these guys got it from.

  • that's so amazing <3 and the movie was so inspiring

    Kia Kaha <3

  • Sure , Kia Kaha .. it's really inspiring movie.. Also another movie with sean farris (lead role) Never back down i recommend it to you..
