Yanni stole the opening line of this piece he based the entire piece around from from Lakkme Flower Duet. (Léo Delibes' opera Lakmé, first performed in 1883.) Most of this tune is totally based on stealing from a classical piece of music. It is really clear he stole this piece of music and it isn't his. Shame on him!

Could you show us anything where Yanni claimed to have WRITTEN the whole piece as an original? Composer /arrangers start with or incorporate a THEME from another musical composition all the time.

There is no crime here, only a fantastic rendition sung by angelic voices.

But what was lifted from Lakme Flower Duet was the entire theme to his music. If something's an "arrangement" then you name it the same piece, you don't slap a new title on it and claim it as your own.

He says on his liner notes that it's loosely based on a theme from the opera Lakme by Leo Delibes. His conductor, Shardad Rohani did the arrangement and Darlene was asked by Yanni to vocally arrange the ending section of the piece and to re-write the lyrics with nonsense syllables. Sorry, no shame here. All credit went to Yanni however.

Darlene did her arrangement of the piece she sang with Yanni on the "Infinite Voice" album.

Got some brand new trivia for ya'. If you check out " The World Famous Supreme Team Show" you'll hear a song called OPERAA HOUSE which is the song Aria mixed with House Music. I've been told that the original singer of the British Airways commercial who sang Aria, is in the video. Put two and two together, she sang it for the British Airways commercial, the W.F.S.S. with Malcom McLaren and Yanni. This should have been a huge smash for this girl. What happened?
