  • Thank you for this.

  • Lmao he snapped

  • But now it makes a bunch of mutherfuckin clickin noises everytime i try 2 download a file!

    lol so funny.

  • nice voice! :O

  • (LAUGHING)

  • word? where on earth did you dig up an actual bottle of s-t-period-crooked-i-d-to-the-e-to-the-s?

  • lol memories @ the ending.

  • :-D too good to be true

  • Ha ! I love your vocal; "dri-i-i-i-i-i-ive!" But St. Ides?!? They still make that ? BAH!

  • ROFL!! Sang that song!!

  • OK, I thought the Polanski video was genius. This is almost better.

  • you're [insert profanity] hilarious! once again, brilliant!

  • wait till you find out how much data recovery cost... OUCH!!!!

  • Oh, additionally, both of the drives were making a clicking noise, but it still turned out not to be the drives themselves that died.

  • Dude, do you still have that drive that died on you, or did you throw it away already? I'm asking, because I have two external drives that I thought had died on me, but in fact it was the circuit board from the casing itself that had died not the drive itself. I removed the drive from the casing and put it in a new casing and voila, good as new. I still have both drives that were supposedly dead - data and all. An new external case can cost as little as $15. At that price, it's worth a try.

  • From 0:27 to 0:39 I laugh hard. I love when he sings that part.

  • pour a sip out for that banger... nice falsetto.

  • hahaha " for the homies " haha

  • Clicking? Ouch, that's a head crash.

    That was still hilarious.

  • Oh man i just have the worst crush on you. :P

  • I'm starting to crush on him, myself! What to do, what to do.

  • yeah, I tend to have that effect on people

  • ha ha, he poured out some liquor at the end for his dead hard drive...hilarious

  • damn fool. hahaha. hope you didn't lose anything. must me something in the air because my computer's logic board died on me too around the same time. all is good now. But I feel your pain.

  • HA that's called comedy and now a "classic"

  • I agree.....and this is why they use autotune!!!

  • For homies dead and gone. Hilarious!

  • needs more autotune :P

  • that was a really good one.

  • "oh yeah, coming thru wit' my Shaolin crew/ 2 cent for a case give me St. Ides brew"...do they still make that? good vid, true

  • damn you be singin....lol that hard drive is big as shit. looks like a ps2...lol...funny hough

  • That note you hit at 00:40 was nuts, cuz!

  • ROTFL...but seriously illdoc1, this shows that, on occasion, you have WAY too much time/creativity on your hands.

  • haha, absolutely hilarious...

was wondering what happened to you.

    thanks for the perspective.lol.

  • BTW: I love the fact that you went out and bought a 40 just to make this video. That's what I call dedication!

  • Now you got me thinking about buying another external drive to backup my backup!

  • what brand is it? i need to buy a good one and i don't want that one

  • "now it makes a bunch of muthaf*ckin' clickin noises whenever I try to load a goddamn file...." COMEDY! LOL....

  • HAHAHHAH! I can relate. :)

  • I started on Sunday and it ended today. My harddrive is alive and kicking again. i'm transferring all important documents to another harddrive for safe keeping. I used a program called SPINRITE.... Took long. I was doubtful at times, but it does work. I had to swap the hard drive chip because mine was fried from a thunderstorm.

  • Thing the first: Your singing voice? BEAUTIFUL.

Thing the second: Sorry about your external drive. That's frustrating/saddening/pick and adjective.

  • You know, if that whole hip-hop things doesn't work out for you, I think saving the soul of R&B is a very viable career option.

  • ...can you imagine hearing your neighbor sing this?

  • That boy good!!

  • Yup, that's happened to me too. It sucks!

  • aww, poor jay. did you try running spinrite on it? apparently that works pretty well.

  • damn shoulda had an OE lol

  • rofl @ the last few seconds. comedy is your thing too.

  • I was like; malt liquor.... Fuefh!!! it was just a joky joke.

You don't strike me as the beer drinking type but hey, one never knows. :~)

    Peace

  • I'm still kackling here, lol. Great music vid parody :-) How do you save what's in your HD to another HD if it's messed up though?

  • hero

  • That ending was classic. That's exactly what St. Ides tastes like. Ha!

  • HAHAHAHA. My external hard drive crashed with almost 500 gb of movies, music and software a little over a month ago. I feel your pain.

  • buy new shell and save data?

nothing's lost forever! got a friend who knows about computers? ask him/her!

  • LOL...been there.

  • Gotta say I feel this one.

  • LOL

  • oue, i caught this vid the first time around. and like i said back then, i am liking your singing! however it totally sucks that you can't make a full video because of that effin drive! :(

  • Sorry bout the hard drive... This will develop into a worldwide hymn though! :D

  • My drive caught aids from all my porn i downloaded and crashed. And guess what? i had 1.5TB i only had 300GB used and it crashed, sucks

  • LOL. sorry, that story was jokes. sad to hear it caught aids from the porn vids.

  • rip

  • lol u can sing

  • kilt it

  • first of all, awesome singing, 2nd u stupid as all hell. how u gonna poor out malt liqour for a hard-drive BWAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Hopefully he poured it into a container that was off-screen. I'd hate to see it go to waste.

  • we're past the tiipping point desi.

yo doc rock that autotunes remix!

  • Man ive been upset all day at some fool who keyed my car but after seing this i burst out laughing. sorry about your hard drive tho

  • "Here's hoping we only lose hard drives for the rest of the year"

    AMEN!

  • Now that is the true meaning of tragedy. I would cry if that happened to me

  • the one inside my laptop just blew up, just replaced it, my computer wouldnt even boot.

  • Man, I just found out they don't last long cause folks leave them on all day and eventually wear down. I think I'm switching to a solid state hard external. I think I'd DIE if my joint broke.

  • That brought a tear to my eye. Now I'm going to go burn some stuff to discs just in case.

  • damn... Your VOICE mate, so good.

  • shit just try loading 5k songs that shit takes forever

  • hey illdoc. i want u to talk about the zeitgeist videos i been watching lately i have no clue what to think anymore

  • guy if you blow on it like the old Nintendo cartridges, im sure u can recover the data.

  • Put it in the freezer for a day or two. Find data recovery software with disk imaging options. Burn that image to your next hard drive. Best of luck.

  • dude same thing happened to mine i lost over 4000 songs of classic hip hop :( but youll b happy to know you can pick up external drives really cheap like a terobyte of space for less than 100 bucks

  • (Cough cough) 4000 songs = Illegal file sharing = Jail Sentence. Na just messing

  • how does it feel? :)

  • HILARIOUS! and a pleasure to listen to. your voice is smoooooth.

  • you have a really good voice.

and yea everytime anywehere someones gonna complain/ask about his external im gonna post a link to this video so he can sing along :D

  • Well, external drives are essential regular hard drives with a power supply. So, you can just open it up and try plugging it directly into your tower to retrieve your data (unless you're a mac user, then you fail at life).

    Stay strong jsmooth!

  • Not if you format the drive in fat32, then mac users can use external drives

  • Who can't relate to that :(

  • The note you hit at :42 was tight lol.

  • I've had a Western Digital 1TB hard drive for quite some time now. No problems yet, but this has me a little nervous about all that precious porn--er, analytical essays, i have stored on it.

  • dang I feel you dude!

  • They are still selling St. Ides???

  • yeah, unless that bottle was sitting in my local bodega since the early 90s (which is possible lol).. i was surprised too

  • Don't throw it out yet! Put your drive in the freezer for a few hours. This causes the magnetic discs to contract and reallign. This should allow you to access (and hopefully) transfer over files to another source. Note that this works "sometimes" and isn't guaranteed. I've had an 80% success rate with hard drives using this method. Hope it helps, I mean it beats throwing the thing away no?

  • yeah I'm not throwing it out, still hoping to get the data.. but in the meantime I need a new external to record onto when I'm filming/editing

  • Haha nice tags man, always great vids. That's what I love about you man you're always consistent in terms of quality :)

  • Didnt you already upload this?

  • yeah i explained in the info section

  • lol @ this dude stupid!

  • OH MAN, I'm dyiiing over here!!! I love this video.

  • awesome, ill!

    keep it up!

  • XD nice!

  • oh man never to disappoint eh illdoc?

    i cracked up sooo hard!!

  • YO I GOT THAT ONE!

  • hope you get a new one.

  • (In response to the description) Why would the loss of an external hard drive prevent you from making videos? Your videos are typically only a couple minutes long. They should each take up so much space that you need a separate hard drive to store them all.

  • I use an external hard drive to record onto and edit on, if I do everything on my laptop's main drive it tends to run too slow and get dropped frames and such..

  • You should sing more, great video!

  • Pure classic!

  • 5/5

  • 0:34 to 0:39 had me CRACKIN' up!

  • boyz II men would be sooooooo proud ....ciao:~)

  • Good to know you haven't forgotten us! It's been too long since a vid.
