  • There are no victims in comicbookville, or event fatigue... Buy or don't by. It's your money.

  • Hey, Elliot! Tell Jose' what 'happy' is!

  • I nominate Rick Remender for the Loeb . He destroyed the Punisher character in the regular Marvel U. "Frankencastle!" Come on!! How is Marvel gonna fix all this garbage. The " Dark Reign Effect " of idiocy knows no bounds. Actually I nominate Marvel as a collective! So until the REAL Captain America is leading the REAL Avengers, make mine DC!! Nuff said!

  • Marvel will learn once sales slow. Until then: Expect more Dark Reign, Siege... Or whatever dumb as title Marvel will come up for a crossover event. At least Punisher Max is pretty good.

  • I nominate the first five issues Red Robin for the Golden Loeb Award.

  • I nominate Tony Daniel for the Golden Loeb Award.

  • We have our noms, now you've gotta head over to the blog and vote on the winner!

    Elliott

  • Red Son was very well written. You have to at least give him credit for turning the man of tomorrow into a watchmen-ish like comic. Very clever work, Hands down. But it seems the praise from that made Mark think that he can take anything, i.e. wolverine and do the same trick and expect the same praise sadly...

ALSO IDK if you guys remember but he wrote some old flash comics and they were terrific! The black flash arch I stand behind it, as being a very well written arch...

  • Yes, I remember that run (pun intended) with Gran Morrison on The Flash. It was pretty good, although it read sort of like 'The Last Flash Story' cuz once you 'outrun death', there's nothing left for the Flash to do.

    Elliott

  • Yeah the sad part is after that particular run, the Flash comics got awful. The whole linda park dying and then brought back and Then DYING AGAIN! At that point I gave up with the flash... But when Grant Morrison and Mark Millar wrote together (ESPECIALLY the issue focused on Jay Garrick!) they both made some very well written Flash comics... and then after grant left and it when it was Millar alone, that was prime Millar. That was when he could consider himself a decent, respectful writer..

  • You guys sound surprised that certain items get made into movies. over others. If there's one thing I've learned Sales and quality do NOT go hand and hand. If Leob's, Quesada's or Michal feakin bay's Marketeers sold a piece of shit with a bow on it would fly off the shelves and sell itself. And even you wouldn't be able to resist buying that piece of shit because those guys got some kind of Disney magic going on. I just wish they'd share it with the content creators.

  • Oh I resisted Transformers 2 pretty easily and have yet to see The Princess and the Frog, so think I'm safe. ;)

    Elliott

  • I haven't read Millar's run on F4, but my coworker constantly gushes about it. Is he right? Also, why does Garfield hate Mondays when he clearly doesn't have a job?

  • Your coworker is wrong unless he was gushing about it being the worst FF comic to come out in years.

I wish Millar and Hytch would leave Marvel and take over the Garfield strip so I never have to see their work again.

  • Millars run on FF was dull, just really really dull.

  • Did either of you Jose or Elliot, think Millar's run on fantastic four was decent? I mean YES it ended on a sour note, but in the start I felt it was alright... I'll admit Mark was better than he is now but that particular run started off okay...

  • I thought his fist couple of issues on FF were interesting enough but it got old real fast. Not a fan of that run overall.

  • @comicculturewarrior

Yeah it started off well, but it kinda peetered out

  • @comicculturewarrior While I'm wondering why Millar is even on the book, it's not exactly Fantastic Feces yet. Millar needs to go back and read the Lee/Kirby FF to get an idea where they started so he can put them where they need to be. Millar is a real disappointment and should move on. Maybe he could bring back "Spidey Super Stories".

  • You know CP, Millar wrote some really good Superman stories back when he was on Superman Adventures, so your idea may not be too far-fetched. If he has to tell stories within a certain boundary, that may help him regain his focus. BTW, I just loved Spidey Super Stories as a kid!

    Elliott

  • If Mark Millar is so intent on making movies of his comics, why does he do it with the crap ones? I would like to see a Superman Red Son movie produced by Bruce Timm and his gang.

  • but would that go well with the mainstream audience, I just kinda feel the critics will slam that film, I know I'd go see it

  • @J1994M

DC wouldn't give him the satisfaction

  • Mark Miller, most successful shill of 2009.

  • You need to level the audio out with the intro audio cause the intro is pretty loud then the show is at a way lower level. FYI.

  • Yeah, that's an old issue with the audio cropping up again. It'll be fixed by the next segment. Thanks for the heads up!

    Elliott

  • Well I watch youtube on my 47 inch LCD tv with the audio running through my surround sound from my Mac mini, and with that system it's very drastic. On a regular computer not so evident.

  • Damn, I'm jealous! Although I dunno if I could handle the site of my head blown up on a 47" screen tv. I have a hard enough time looking at it normal size in my mirror each morning. LOL!

    Elliott

  • Actually it wouldn't look that different :) How about an autographed copy of Ash saves Obama for a prize? I'm sure Dynamite has plenty of copies left! :)

  • bashing the bad hey thats your job

nice going with the call deemar

  • From 10:34 10:37 what looks like a snowflake flies across the bottom 3rd of the screen of this video. Did wordpress play a prank on Dreamland or something? Wow, talk about an intellectually stimulating comment.

  • DAM LOEB i hate the hulk series so much!!! but incredible hulk is great

  • i agree with the whole mark millar thing i liked wanted though. i think fraction is the best writer of 09

  • Dark Reign should get the Loeb, Battle for the Cowl was only 3 issues DR lasted over a year

  • Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties starring Bill Purray

  • Can't wait to vote! I didn't nominate anything written by Millar because I'm not currently reading any of his comics. In my opinion the WORST thing in comics for 2009 was the death of the Ultimate U and I believe I nominated that... I hope I did...

  • looks like ur gonna need a haircut soon jose lol btw whats that book on the far right with harley quinn and the joker??

  • It's the Harley Quinn one-shot that introduced the character into the DC Universe.
