The old testament is crudely mis translated and is not translatable into english from hebrew which is God's language which spoke all things into existance.
If you base your beliefs on the possibility of being wrong rather than the evidence presented, you will find that you are wrong often. BTW. Anthropomorphic ideas about hell are incredibly childish ways to promote any idea of the ethereal planes that might exist beyond our world. Fairytales written by primitive peoples are actually more likely to separate us from any real truth the universe holds about god(s), not bring us closer. You're smarter than cavemen, people. You really are.
Oh I see, now its the equipment. Instead what I was doing. Look, by no means I executed it perfectly. However, you and everyone else seem to pick on the most ridiculous reasons why.
Well, hell is not real; See HELL EXPOSED playlist in my channel IF You want. However, Judgment and LAKE OF FIRE is real. Yes, it will happen.
WAKE UP PEOPLE... Wake up... The ONLY WAY to LIFE IS YAHUSHUA (Many of You call Him Jesus Christ). Alternative - LAKE OF FIRE, Which is SECOND DEATH, not ETERNAL TORMENT. DO NOT TAKE MARK OF THE BEAST, it seems that this is nothing more then RFID chip. Best Regards.
What happens when you die? Have you told lies, stolen, used God's name in vain? If yes, then you broke God's law(you shall not lie, steal, etc.)written on your heart. When you die & be judged by God, you'll be guilty of sin, & go to Hell! But God sent God His Son Jesus to shed His blood & die on a cross for your sins, He was buried & rose again from the dead on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus's death for sins, His burial & resurrection)you'll not perish & have eternal life!
A God who sends people to eternal torture doesn't deserve mercy and love. And who cares if there's a Hell? Now that God shoes himself how much of a motherfucking son of a bitch he is, then we can all spend eternity not crying for mercy but saying all kinds of curse words and dirty jokes against him!
what if god hates faith and rewards people on the basis of how much honest and objective attempt at reasoning that they made irrespective of the conclusion reached.
What if god is evil and deliberately sends atheist to heaven and believers to hell
What if all life is just a experiment set up by an alien scientist to figure out which ones are smart enuff to leave religion and he will send the smart ones to an equivalent of heaven?
In all these cases betting on atheism is more "Profitable".
What if you're wrong about Judaism and Islam? What about Buddhism, Hinduism, or the ancient Greek Gods, Aztec Gods, African Juju's, Native American Gods, Myan Gods, Ancient Roman Gods, the Parsee Gods, Sikh Gods, the teaching of Scientology, or any of the other millions of Gods throughout human history? The fact is, if there is an afterlife, and the God is just and loving, he wouldn't care if we worshiped him or not, he would care about how we lived our lives.
if im wrong, then i live in a twisted world with a twisted God who send me to hell to experience sum twisted eternal nightmare ? wtf
that wuld make God look dumber in my eyes than i am. And i wouldnt like to be a son of someone whos dumber than me...I perceive enough Ignorance and i rly dont want to experience it eternally lol. id rather enjoy Hell then. ;)
Good idea to disable the ratings, otherwise you would find out how many people think you are ridiculous. Hell does not exist other than as a scare tactic for weak religions to get weak minded people like you to endorse them.
You really are thick aren't you? The annotation didn't give you a clue nor did the ending... nor the fact the one true religion keep getting static...nor the fact it is labeled entertainment... nor the fact it was made by an atheist... *sigh*
You r trapped in a very intricate "belief system " that you dont even fully comprehend. Yes, read up on your evolution theory before you can even begin to sensibly discuss on theology. Until then, stop making these senseless videos, you r disgracing your "religion".
I've see many smarter videos on atheism, this is nowhere even close to any one of those to even encourage a discussion." What if you're wrong? , nothing we'll both just return to dust. but if You are wrong you'll be in a real version of your video!
Some christians really have not thought out what is meant by "faith." It is not the blind, check your brain at the door kind of faith I mentioned earlier. The faith mentioned in the Bible is belief in something that you have not observed or seen, yet there is overwhelming evidence to support a belief. We have faith that the chair we're going to sit on will not collapse when we sit on it. So we believe because of the evidence and our faith.
Here's a thought about evolution and creationism. One argument says that the only way someone could believe in creationism is by "faith." By faith, they would mean something like, a blind belief that is attached to some psychological need. But, would not believing in evolution require the same ammount of "faith" since believing in this theory 100% would require observation of the process over millions of years?
@rickemiranda Scientists continually seek out and study physical proof via excavation and acquisition of the fossil record to make sure the "theory" stands up. If something doesn't make sense, then they set out to find out why. The whole premise of science is not to obscure the truth, but to reveal it with evidence. Evidence.
Re-reading a 2000 year old book written by goat herders on a daily basis isn't exactly the same thing.
@pilgrimomega "...premise of science is...to reveal [truth].." Glad you brought up the topic of evidence and science. In YouTube please type "Shroud of Turin new Evidence 2009," and see what SCIENTISTS discovered and reported. Watch all 5 parts. Also watch "A Particle Physicist Talks about the Shroud of Turin. When done, come back and we can talk about evidence.
Herringbone weave is not common for 1st century burial cloth. Just a plain weave is used. Furthermore, the they make no mention of the 14th century pigments that have been found. The "blood" on the shroud is red, blood when it ages turns black. That alone is strong evidence of pigments. Even if we ignore all that and just say it is from the 1st century, it would still be a leap of faith to believe in the resurrection.
@TheAtheistPaladin: "..herringbone weave not common..blood on shroud is red..." I am convinced the blood on the shroud is real blood. The high levels of billirubin confirm that, also confirms that subject had gone through trauma before death. The blood was not visible until observed under fluorescent lighting, there's no indication that it's red OR black. Also, you did not comment on the 3D image the shroud produces under the VP8 scanner, same thing happens with other pictures analyzed.
And what about the weave? Furthermore, Look at Dr. McCrone's work, he has pictures and everything showing the stains to be red. Believe it to be real blood or not, it is not like it couldn't have come from another source... I don't need to comment on the scanner. If it fucks up a drawing and a real picture, then what good is it? So what if it yielded a 3d for this particular image. Nothing more than pseudo-science device if you don't know why it gives the results it does.
@TheAtheistPaladin "What about the weave?" Here's what Matthew's account says, "...there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph...took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and placed it in his own new tomb." Matth 27:57. Joseph was a rich man and could have used an expensive cloth that could have been made anywhere with any pattern...
Okay, let me say it again. Herringbone weave is not a weave typical of that time, e.g. 1st century is too early for that type of textile pattern. "Rich" has nothing to do with that type of pattern.
Let me give you a hint: Mel Gibbsions the Passion of the Christ had it right. It was BLOODY BLOODY BLOODY. That man's back is hardly wounded at all to be the Jesus you speak of according to the gospels.
@TheAtheistPaladin "Mel Gibson's passion..." This is one of the few things I did not like about the movie. The flogging scene was WAY overdone. Scripture clearly tells us Jesus was given 39 (40 save one) lashings. Watch the passion and count the number of lashings...
The Romans are another group that I have studied. The cat-o-nine-tails wip they use would leave you looking like hamburger at 39 strikes. They invented many ways of torture and capital punishment. Look at what scouring did, and you will come to the same conclusion I did. That man's back is too good to been scourged.
@TheAtheistPaladin "Cat-o-nine tails..." They may or may not have used this particular type of whip. Mark says, "[Pilate] had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified..." Luke 23, "Therefore I [Pilate] will punish him..." John 19:1 "Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged..." I'm sure the Romans used cat-o-nine tails but was it ALL that they used. What did they use on Jesus?
@TheAtheistPaladin "Pictures analyzed..." What this indicates is that the shroud became the medium of absorbtion for high energy radiation of some sort. The shroud is the medium for imagery in the same way that 35mm film is the medium for light exposure. It would be leap of faith to believe in the resurrection if the shroud was taken by itself. However, there is also Matthew and John's eyewitness accounts in the gospels. Mark written by friend of Peter and Luke by Roman historian.
Why would a god need radiation to raise someone from the dead? You watch to many movies. Do this experiment. Paint your face then rap it in a towel. I bet you $50 bucks that it doesn't look anything like the shroud of Turin.
@TheAtheistPaladin "Why does god need radiation..." I don't know. I do know that when Jesus is seen by John in his vision (in Revelation), John says, "His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead..." Rev 1:16. John's body could not be in the presence of Jesus immortal body and accounts for the radiant energy that could have created the image...
@TheAtheistPaladin "should have left it at that..." This is an indication of willingness to be open and honest. I don't have to know every detail, every grain of sand in the beach. This does not mean that there is no beach. I doubt you are willing to be as open and honest about your search. You have already made up your mind and am willing to bet that you do not WANT to believe in God because you do not WANT to.
You said you didn't know and then gave examples of VISIONS. What do VISIONS of Jesus have to do with anything? I can go right after the resurrection and show no indication of him glowing. What you should have done is go to raising the dead moments and use that as you basis. Problem is that they don't glow either.
If you believe that I don't WANT to believe in god, then stop wasting my time and go away. But of course your wrong about that. I don't care if I do or don't believe. Again, TRUTH is the ONLY thing that matters.
@rickemiranda well if you're going to tell ppl that your evidence for biblical truths is undeniable and they simply don't want to believe.(which is a silly) Then what have you got for me?
Every religion has got something. Why should I believe yours over theirs? I mean at least with the vedas it points out the atomic structure of matter, and even further, the sound beneath. I've even personally witnessed an experiment that showed Vedic chanting accelerated the growth of plants.
@ultimategoobah "Vedic Chanting..." Please explain what Vedic chanting is. If you are taling about the influence of sound words on plants yes, I've heard of that. There was another one I heard where two separate samples of rice were placed in 2 separate jars. One Jar had the words "I love you" and the other said something like "I hate you." and supposedly the jar with the hateful words had the rice rot out. Have not tried this myself.
@TheAtheistPaladin "Why radiation..." Also, keep in mind Paul's encounter with Jesus on the road to damascus. Jesus was so brilliant that he became temporarilty blind and would prbably remained blind until he was healed.
@TheAtheistPaladin "rap [face] in a towel..." This does not improve your argument. The scientists concluded that the image was by no means a painting. The image is consistent with exposed film therefore, the image had to be created by radiation.
Yes it does. You don't understand what I am getting at. You claim that Jesus was RAPPED in this cloth. That will effect how the "exposure" appears on the cloth. Have you ever seen a textured map of a 3d face? It looks like it has been sliced off and laid out flat. That is how the Shroud of Turin SHOULD look.
@TheAtheistPaladin "Matthew Mark Luke and John..." So, the shroud taken together with the gospel accounts does not take a HUGE leap of faith. You, on the other hand, have your scientific theories attested to by modern "scientists" yet, there is no eyewitness to validate the theory. I have to give it to you, you have way more faith than I do...
I have gone through enough textual criticism to know that the Gospels are not anymore reliable than the other gospels that weren't accepted in the cannon. And why is it that you christians are so inconsistent on faith? Is it a good thing or a bad thing? And what theories are you trying to peg on me that you claim has no evidence? Could you tell me without relieving your own ignorance of the subject?
@TheAtheistPaladin "christians inconsistent on faith...what theories are you trying to peg on me..." Not sure what you mean inconsistent on faith. Most christians don't realize the overwhelming evidence there is for Jesus divinity. So, to them faith is just believing. But, to educated christians, faith is simply believing in something you have not seen yet, there is overwhelming evidence that justifies your belief.
Then if faith is a good thing, then why are you saying that I have more than you? So far I have given some skeptical reasons for rejecting the shroud. That quite the opposite of faith.
@TheAtheistPaladin "why saying I have more faith than you." I'm just pointing out that the eivdence in favor of Jesus divinity is greater, I believe, than the evidence for a random universe where evolution is the process by which intelligent beings come into being.
"I'm just pointing out that the eivdence in favor of Jesus divinity is greater"
That remains to be seen. As for evolution...genetics, biology, paleontology, morphology, and embryology all confirm evolution in one way or another. To prove the "divinity" of someone 2000 years past, text in principle cannot do it. Not even close.
@SoldierCyfix "how do you prove divinity..jesus [would have to] fire a thunderbolt from his hand..." There's an infinate number of ways Jesus could prove he is divine. He can make a leper clean again, a man born blind see again, walk on water, give up his spirit on the cross, have his heart ruptured by a spear, then come back to life again and appear to his followers. Take your pick.
@SoldierCyfix "what if...causes thunerstorm in LA." Look around our solar system and our galaxy. It's a very cold, desolate and fearful place for a human. Yet, there you are in LA breathing oxygen and being hydrated by the water out of your faucet. God loves us that much and you will not acknowledge him. Shame on you.
Wait.... Because we have the basic services, which MAN made, god loves us? What about those who can't get clean water, that can't get food or medical care? Does god hate them? If not, then why are you shaming him for? To do so reveals hypocrisy in your stance.
@TheAtheistPaladin "why are you shaming him for.." Yes, others are not as fortunate. That's why I give a small portion of my earnings every month to missions so that people can go and dig wells in Africa and such. Because others are not as fortunate and some do suffer in this life, does not detract from the truth that God loves humanity. This is a fallen world and man is to blame, not God. One day , God will make all things new. Please don't jump from one area of focus to another.
Sure it does, if you are saying good fortune means god loves you, then god MUST hate you if you don't have good fortune. And "god" graced him with the "miracle" of running water. "Shame on him for not seeing that miracle." That is simple logic.
@TheAtheistPaladin "reveals hypocrisy..." I said shame on you because he said he would believe in God if God intervened and performed some personal miracle for him. My point to that statement is that he has failed to notice the miracle that's already infront of him. The universe is desolate and cannot sustain life. Yet, here we are on earth lving and breathing and most of us have everything we need. What other miracle do you or any other need to be convinced that God is real?
That is not a miracle. To live only where you can live is not a miracle. What is so unusual about that? What you described is NOT a problem for atheist. Pretty much what you are saying is "We exist, therefore God."
@TheAtheistPaladin "To live only where you CAN live is not a miracle..." You probably wouldn't say that if you were planted on the surface of the moon. You might feel a little different about that if you were on the moon without life support. What is YOUR definition of a miracle?
@rickemiranda a miracle is being healed of Epilepsy which has no cure. I know because Ive experienced it. No longer do I take meds or have seizures.Miracle.
@TheAtheistPaladin Also, he had asked how do I prove Jesus divinity...I say, I don't have to prove it, Jesus already did it himself. We have 1. the gospel accounts 2. Paul's writings in Acts and the letters to the churches 3. the church movement that has endured over 2,000 years 4. The Shroud of Turin (another piece of evidence) 5. Prophesies from OT that match the NT accounts of Jesus. Take your pick.
@TheAtheistPaladin "1. Text cannot prove divinit...5.Personally debunked that." Here's a similar point: The 4 tenets for Darwins theory of Natural Selection: 1. Like begets like (with variations in Offspring). 2. More offspring are produced than can survive 3. Individuals in a population vary 4. Nature selects varieties best suited for survival. All together or separately, none proves that humans evolved from ape-like creatures nor do they disprove a creator.
Any last threads of respect I had for you are now gone. One, you are trying to change the subject. Two, you don't even begin to understand what it takes to meet the burden of proof for divinity. Three, those aren't the evidence for evolution but just an over simplified description of it. I have already given you evidence for it. I guess you don't really care about the truth, only what makes you comfortable.
@rickemiranda hmm, you avoided my question, and your savior was unable to prove his existence, i stayed up all night waiting for that thunderstorm.... how disappointing
as for the solar system, if your god can't even generate a small thunderstorm how can you say that he created the solar system.
@SoldierCyfix "if [God] causes a thunderstorm here in LA..." Jesus said, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a miraculous sign but, none will be given it. Except the sign of Jonah. Foar as Jonah was 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth, so the son of man [Jesus] will be in the heart of the earth. A sign has already been given to us, now it's on us to choose to believe or disbelieve. Our choice will determine our destinies in eternity.
@rickemiranda looking at it from a non-bias point of view it would seem like the bible was written with this issue in mind. to avoid having to prove the existence of god to its readers, they wrote that god will refuse to show signs of existence.
its a tragic comedy.
i wont bother you about it though, i believe that everyone is free to think and worship whatever pleases them. and i have no right to object unless it treads on my right to believe in what i want; Atheism, the belief in truth
@TheAtheistPaladin "evidence that justifies your belief.." About theories you may have faith about, I am referring to evolution. It's quite a leap of faith to look at a homonid bone in Africa and say that it is the distant relative of Astrolopithecus thigh bone in Asia...taken on its own, big leap of faith. What else is there to support this claim?
Yeap, I knew it. You are ignorant of evolution. This is how much faith it takes to believe in evolution..... ZERO. There is a reason that 99.999% of all biologist are evolutionists. Just look up ERVs and evolution will smack you in the face as in inescapable conclusion.
There is no video with that exact title. I assume you mean a01011399's video? I suggest you look at the response by phoenixshade3, since it perfectly debunks that then. I have yet to see any sufficient creationist explaination to why ERVs confirm nested hierarchies.
@TheAtheistPaladin "Herringbone weave not common for 1st century burial cloth.." For what region of the world? Also, please provide your source for this information.
@rickemiranda :I've seen this show before, but I wanted to make sure I could back up what I might write so I watched it again. All I really saw it prove was that there were problems in the carbon dating process due to what was revealed to be repair work on the shroud. That's the scientific method in action. Glad it works! The stuff about lack of pigment was also very interesting. The stuff that indicates blood, the same. But that's a long way from "being Jesus".
Serious question. Could you "choose" to believe in something that you think is mythical? Would you change your entire life on the off chance that you are wrong? And do so with absolutely no proof at all? If you answer no to any of them, then why are you expecting me to do the same?
OMFG you are an asshole. I never figured to ask you to think about something for only a moment would be so insulting. If your this touchy about it, then may suggest you try something else.
@TheAtheistPaladin : "Would you change your entire life...with absolutely no proof at all?" Well, I think now you have watched "Shroud of Turin new Evidence." So I ask you, would you change your entire life if you were given overwhelming proof of Jesus diety?" If you answer no then, why would you expect me to do the same for a theory that requires more faith for me to believe in?
Of course I would believe. The truth is the ONLY thing that matters. What is this "theory that requires more faith for [you] to believe in"? I am not asking you to take anything on faith at all. I am asking for you to look at the evidence and think about it.
The idea of hell is a fallacy. Priests and other such use it to enslave the people. No loving parent , which is what God is , would ever do such to their child.
What low is your IQ. You didn't bother to see who made the video, You didn't bother to watch it to the end to see the point of the video, and you didn't bother to read the annotation that clearly states the video is satire. What more could I have done?
@cobrompton "Taking advantage of people's fears..." People preach because they believe God's words and don't want to see others be condemned to hell, as terrible a place as it may be. Here's an analogy, a house is in a raging blaze and you know your friend is in there fast asleep. Will you not knock his door down and shake him awake, even if you are appealing to his fears, so that you can save his life?
It doesn't matter if Jesus existed or not. I don't think the gospels has enough credibility to establish if Jesus actually did anything. Outside historical sources are completely absent on Jesus, so there is no way to know anything about him.
@TheAtheistPaladin That's an interesting view point. Did you know that the secular Roman historian, Cornelius Tacitus (55-120 AD), wrote about Jesus? He wrote: Kristos, the founder of the Christian name, was put to death by Pontious Pilate procurator of Judea in the Reign of Tiberiusbutsuperstition, repressed for a time, broke out again. Not only through Judea where the mischief originated but through the city of Rome also.
@TheAtheistPaladin This secular account matches with Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and confirms that 1. Jesus did exist; 2. That Jesus was the founder of Christinanity; 3. Jesus was put to death by pilate; 4. Christianity originated in Judea; 5. Christianity later spread to Rome. I can list a couple more secuar historians that wrote about Jesus...
Even if I grated such a statement, it does not prove that those events actually happened. All of that can be hearsay and proving a miracle occurred by historic methods is a contradiction. History is supposed to figure out the most likely event, a miracle by definition is the least likely event to occur.
@TheAtheistPaladin: Well what is your definition of a miracle? I propose a miracle is an event that occurs against many odds. What were the odds that life would come to exist on a lonely plannet in the vast universe. The odds were enormous, yet it happened and I propose that's a miracle. Yet, proving that this occured by the process of evolution (a miracle) has been done by examining the earht's history...Proving a miracle occured by historic methods is not a contradition.
For you to think that evolution is a "miracle" is nothing less than a display of ignorance of it. Anything that is apart of the law of the natural world is not a miracle. In fact miracles break such laws. Would you believe that some guy in the past broke gravity simply because some letter said so? No, you would demand extraordinary evidence for extraordinary claims.
@TheAtheistPaladin "You would demand extraordinary evidence for extraordinary claims." I will assume you believe that the Civil War actully took place. I wonder what extraordinary evidence you have scoured to bring you to the conclusion that this actually took place...
@TheAtheistPaladin : The expletives are unnecessary. You can make a good point without being overly offensive. I am not saying I don't believe the Civil War took place. On the contrary, I believe it did BECAUSE of the evidence. Yes, the things that Jesus would have supposedly done were extraordinary. Yet, all you have for "evidence" that we are the result of an evolutionary process is some theory that has absolutely no witness? In Jesus case we do have written accounts of the things that he did.
No, my "offensiveness" is required in this case. To suggest that the civil war and the miracles of Jesus are on par with each other is absurd in the highest. If you don't understand that believing that the civil war happened is FAR EASIER that Jesus pulling a rabbit out of hat, then there is no help for you. Seriously. You don't even understand evolution and how the evidence stacks up for it. Just quit while you are ahead.
You are an idiot. If you think I am making fun of hell because it is a bad reason to believe, THEN WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU USING HELL AS A REASON TO GET ME TO BELIEVE?!?!
@806TO713 Wow what a caring god you serve. My god is thor. He carries a giant hammer. Your jew boy was nailed to the cross like a whinny lilte girl. My god wins, and if you do not accept thor into your brain(Hearts pump blood) you will spend eternity in cow pee
So the main tool religion relies on in their attempt to convert people into their creed
is fear. That's the only conclusion I can draw from this video. Well. I find inmoral to
believe simply because of fear of the constant blandishment and threats of eternal punishment or a lure reward. That's the "Pascal's Wager"--let me cover my ass just incase, and God is stupid enough to buy into it.

So we believe because of the evidence and our faith.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
Here's a thought about evolution and creationism. One argument says that the only way someone could believe in creationism is by "faith." By faith, they would mean something like, a blind belief that is attached to some psychological need. But, would not believing in evolution require the same ammount of "faith" since believing in this theory 100% would require observation of the process over millions of years?
rickemiranda 24 minutes ago
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda Scientists continually seek out and study physical proof via excavation and acquisition of the fossil record to make sure the "theory" stands up. If something doesn't make sense, then they set out to find out why. The whole premise of science is not to obscure the truth, but to reveal it with evidence. Evidence.
Re-reading a 2000 year old book written by goat herders on a daily basis isn't exactly the same thing.
pilgrimomega 1 year ago
@pilgrimomega "...premise of science is...to reveal [truth].." Glad you brought up the topic of evidence and science. rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin: "..herringbone weave not common..blood on shroud is red..." I am convinced the blood on the shroud is real blood. The high levels of billirubin confirm that, also confirms that subject had gone through trauma before death. The blood was not visible until observed under fluorescent lighting, there's no indication that it's red OR black. Also, you did not comment on the 3D image the shroud produces under the VP8 scanner, same thing happens with other pictures analyzed.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin "What about the weave?" Here's what Matthew's account says, "...there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph...took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and placed it in his own new tomb." Matth 27:57. Joseph was a rich man and could have used an expensive cloth that could have been made anywhere with any pattern...
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda

TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin "Mel Gibson's passion..." This is one of the few things I did not like about the movie. The flogging scene was WAY overdone. Scripture clearly tells us Jesus was given 39 (40 save one) lashings. Watch the passion and count the number of lashings...
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
The Romans are another group that I have studied. The cat-o-nine-tails wip they use would leave you looking like hamburger at 39 strikes. They invented many ways of torture and capital punishment. Look at what scouring did, and you will come to the same conclusion I did. That man's back is too good to been scourged.
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin "Cat-o-nine tails..." They may or may not have used this particular type of whip. Mark says, "[Pilate] had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified..." Luke 23, "Therefore I [Pilate] will punish him..." John 19:1 "Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged..." I'm sure the Romans used cat-o-nine tails but was it ALL that they used. What did they use on Jesus?
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
What do you mean? Something like a bullwhip? Not likely. The nine tails is pretty much standard for Romans.
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin "Pictures analyzed..." What this indicates is that the shroud became the medium of absorbtion for high energy radiation of some sort. The shroud is the medium for imagery in the same way that 35mm film is the medium for light exposure. It would be leap of faith to believe in the resurrection if the shroud was taken by itself. However, there is also Matthew and John's eyewitness accounts in the gospels. Mark written by friend of Peter and Luke by Roman historian.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
Why would a god need radiation to raise someone from the dead? You watch to many movies. Do this experiment. Paint your face then rap it in a towel. I bet you $50 bucks that it doesn't look anything like the shroud of Turin.
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin "Why does god need radiation..." I don't know. I do know that when Jesus is seen by John in his vision (in Revelation), John says, "His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead..." Rev 1:16. John's body could not be in the presence of Jesus immortal body and accounts for the radiant energy that could have created the image...

This does not mean that there is no beach. I doubt you are willing to be as open and honest about your search. You have already made up your mind and am willing to bet that you do not WANT to believe in God because you do not WANT to.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
You said you didn't know and then gave examples of VISIONS. What do VISIONS of Jesus have to do with anything? I can go right after the resurrection and show no indication of him glowing. What you should have done is go to raising the dead moments and use that as you basis. Problem is that they don't glow either.
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
If you believe that I don't WANT to believe in god, then stop wasting my time and go away. But of course your wrong about that. I don't care if I do or don't believe. Again, TRUTH is the ONLY thing that matters.
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@rickemiranda well if you're going to tell ppl that your evidence for biblical truths is undeniable and they simply don't want to believe.(which is a silly) Then what have you got for me?
Every religion has got something. Why should I believe yours over theirs? I mean at least with the vedas it points out the atomic structure of matter, and even further, the sound beneath. I've even personally witnessed an experiment that showed Vedic chanting accelerated the growth of plants.
ultimategoobah 1 year ago
@ultimategoobah "What have you got for me?" Please watch "Shroud of Turin new Evidence 2009" then let's discuss.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@ultimategoobah "Vedic Chanting..." Please explain what Vedic chanting is. If you are taling about the influence of sound words on plants yes, I've heard of that. There was another one I heard where two separate samples of rice were placed in 2 separate jars. One Jar had the words "I love you" and the other said something like "I hate you." and supposedly the jar with the hateful words had the rice rot out. Have not tried this myself.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin "Why radiation..." Also, keep in mind Paul's encounter with Jesus on the road to damascus. Jesus was so brilliant that he became temporarilty blind and would prbably remained blind until he was healed.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin "rap [face] in a towel..." This does not improve your argument. The scientists concluded that the image was by no means a painting. The image is consistent with exposed film therefore, the image had to be created by radiation.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin "Matthew Mark Luke and John..." So, the shroud taken together with the gospel accounts does not take a HUGE leap of faith. You, on the other hand, have your scientific theories attested to by modern "scientists" yet, there is no eyewitness to validate the theory. I have to give it to you, you have way more faith than I do...
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin "christians inconsistent on faith...what theories are you trying to peg on me..." Not sure what you mean inconsistent on faith. Most christians don't realize the overwhelming evidence there is for Jesus divinity. So, to them faith is just believing. But, to educated christians, faith is simply believing in something you have not seen yet, there is overwhelming evidence that justifies your belief.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
Then if faith is a good thing, then why are you saying that I have more than you? So far I have given some skeptical reasons for rejecting the shroud. That quite the opposite of faith.
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin "why saying I have more faith than you." I'm just pointing out that the eivdence in favor of Jesus divinity is greater, I believe, than the evidence for a random universe where evolution is the process by which intelligent beings come into being.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@rickemiranda lol how do you prove divinity?
if i had to test it out i would have to ask jesus to fire a thunder bolt from his hand when i meet him.
SoldierCyfix 1 year ago
@SoldierCyfix "how do you prove divinity..jesus [would have to] fire a thunderbolt from his hand..." There's an infinate number of ways Jesus could prove he is divine. He can make a leper clean again, a man born blind see again, walk on water, give up his spirit on the cross, have his heart ruptured by a spear, then come back to life again and appear to his followers. Take your pick.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda how about prove that he exists.... oh i know, what if he causes a thunderstorm here where i live in LA, today midnight.
at this time of year, a thunderbolt in LA is very rare, so if it happens ill become a believer and it would prove that he exists.
SoldierCyfix 1 year ago
@SoldierCyfix "what if...causes thunerstorm in LA." Look around our solar system and our galaxy. It's a very cold, desolate and fearful place for a human. Yet, there you are in LA breathing oxygen and being hydrated by the water out of your faucet. God loves us that much and you will not acknowledge him. Shame on you.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
Wait.... Because we have the basic services, which MAN made, god loves us? What about those who can't get clean water, that can't get food or medical care? Does god hate them? If not, then why are you shaming him for? To do so reveals hypocrisy in your stance.
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin "why are you shaming him for.." Yes, others are not as fortunate. That's why I give a small portion of my earnings every month to missions so that people can go and dig wells in Africa and such. Because others are not as fortunate and some do suffer in this life, does not detract from the truth that God loves humanity. This is a fallen world and man is to blame, not God. One day , God will make all things new. Please don't jump from one area of focus to another.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
Sure it does, if you are saying good fortune means god loves you, then god MUST hate you if you don't have good fortune. And "god" graced him with the "miracle" of running water. "Shame on him for not seeing that miracle." That is simple logic.
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin "reveals hypocrisy..." I said shame on you because he said he would believe in God if God intervened and performed some personal miracle for him. My point to that statement is that he has failed to notice the miracle that's already infront of him. The universe is desolate and cannot sustain life. Yet, here we are on earth lving and breathing and most of us have everything we need. What other miracle do you or any other need to be convinced that God is real?
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
That is not a miracle. To live only where you can live is not a miracle. What is so unusual about that? What you described is NOT a problem for atheist. Pretty much what you are saying is "We exist, therefore God."
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin "To live only where you CAN live is not a miracle..." You probably wouldn't say that if you were planted on the surface of the moon. You might feel a little different about that if you were on the moon without life support. What is YOUR definition of a miracle?
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
It like saying "It is a miracle that water takes the shape of the glass." A Miracle is something that goes agaisnt the laws of nature.

mandiran 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin Also, he had asked how do I prove Jesus divinity...I say, I don't have to prove it, Jesus already did it himself. We have 1. the gospel accounts 2. Paul's writings in Acts and the letters to the churches 3. the church movement that has endured over 2,000 years 4. The Shroud of Turin (another piece of evidence) 5. Prophesies from OT that match the NT accounts of Jesus. Take your pick.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda

3. Appeals to tradition does not prove divinity.
4. Remember that it does not look as it should? further, it cannot prove divinity.
5. I personally debunked that, Further, it cannot prove divinity.
All together or separately, none it can prove divinity.
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin "1. Text cannot prove divinit...5.Personally debunked that." Here's a similar point: The 4 tenets for Darwins theory of Natural Selection: 1. Like begets like (with variations in Offspring). 2. More offspring are produced than can survive 3. Individuals in a population vary 4. Nature selects varieties best suited for survival. All together or separately, none proves that humans evolved from ape-like creatures nor do they disprove a creator.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@rickemiranda hmm, you avoided my question, and your savior was unable to prove his existence, i stayed up all night waiting for that thunderstorm.... how disappointing
as for the solar system, if your god can't even generate a small thunderstorm how can you say that he created the solar system.
SoldierCyfix 1 year ago
@SoldierCyfix "if [God] causes a thunderstorm here in LA..." Jesus said, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a miraculous sign but, none will be given it. Except the sign of Jonah. Foar as Jonah was 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth, so the son of man [Jesus] will be in the heart of the earth. A sign has already been given to us, now it's on us to choose to believe or disbelieve. Our choice will determine our destinies in eternity.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda looking at it from a non-bias point of view it would seem like the bible was written with this issue in mind. to avoid having to prove the existence of god to its readers, they wrote that god will refuse to show signs of existence.
its a tragic comedy.
i wont bother you about it though, i believe that everyone is free to think and worship whatever pleases them. and i have no right to object unless it treads on my right to believe in what i want; Atheism, the belief in truth
SoldierCyfix 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin "evidence that justifies your belief.." About theories you may have faith about, I am referring to evolution. It doesn't matter if Jesus existed or not. I don't think the gospels has enough credibility to establish if Jesus actually did anything. Outside historical sources are completely absent on Jesus, so there is no way to know anything about him.
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin That's an interesting view point. Did you know that the secular Roman historian, Cornelius Tacitus (55-120 AD), wrote about Jesus? He wrote: Kristos, the founder of the Christian name, was put to death by Pontious Pilate procurator of Judea in the Reign of Tiberiusbutsuperstition, repressed for a time, broke out again. Not only through Judea where the mischief originated but through the city of Rome also.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin This secular account matches with Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and confirms that 1. Jesus did exist; 2. That Jesus was the founder of Christinanity; 3. Jesus was put to death by pilate; 4. Christianity originated in Judea; 5. Christianity later spread to Rome. I can list a couple more secuar historians that wrote about Jesus...
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
I have already examined those points. I suggest you watch my videos on "Did Jesus really exist?"
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
Even if I grated such a statement, it does not prove that those events actually happened. All of that can be hearsay and proving a miracle occurred by historic methods is a contradiction. History is supposed to figure out the most likely event, a miracle by definition is the least likely event to occur.
TheAtheistPaladin 1 year ago
@TheAtheistPaladin: Well what is your definition of a miracle? I propose a miracle is an event that occurs against many odds. What were the odds that life would come to exist on a lonely plannet in the vast universe. The odds were enormous, yet it happened and I propose that's a miracle. Yet, proving that this occured by the process of evolution (a miracle) has been done by examining the earht's history...Proving a miracle occured by historic methods is not a contradition.
rickemiranda 1 year ago
@rickemiranda
For you to think that evolution is a "miracle" is nothing less than a display of ignorance of it. Anything that is apart of the law of the natural world is not a miracle.

@rickemiranda

@rickemiranda Actually. Live evolution has been witnessed in a controlled environment of microbial organisms already. SORRY :D Google it.
