Hold on... Ive watched all the vids, and Maradonas has to be the best because of the following reasons.

1) It was scored in the world cup in a quarter final (Something Messi has not and I doubt will ever do) Excel in the World cup.

2) It was against a MEAN English defence that will hack you down, break your legs if you get past them.

3) Messis goal was against low Spanish Opposition.

4) Maradonas was from his own half.

Maradona's goal is indeed the best.. Great choice..! He dominated the English players.. A lot of skill involved to make te initial turn pass Beardleys and Reid... Then great touches of skill pass Butcher and jumping over Fenwick's tackle... then going pass Shilton.. Butcher caught up and tried a last minute tackle... But Maradona stroked the ball into the net! The best goal in history.. Skills and stakes were high also!

I'm from Brazil and even I have to admit that goal was the most beautiful goal ever scored in a World Cup and one of the most beautiful goals ever scored. IT IS EXTREMELY HARD to do what he did right there. As the ball is passed to him, he touches it twice leaving two players behind, runs with the ball and leaves two more players behind before dribbling the goalkeeper on the floor and scoring. Only brilliant people can score that kind of goal.
