It would have been better if they had made this a full series in which Monaka hunts down and kills criminals.(That's what I thought this was before finding out it was just an ova.) Then add in some interesting plot twists, take out the dad skeleton-golem from space, and it would be perfect.

I don't see it as a sequel in a continuous narrative sense, but through theme and form. Kite seems to revolve around girls damaged from sexual abuse and other sexist social conflict they've undergone in their childhood. Parents both play roles, the need for love, acceptance, etc. and trying to fill those voids through other means.

So I didn't take them both so literally, really. Yes I miss the gritty grunge noir of the first Kite, but the second is more along the lines of fantasy/sci-fi.

This review is exactly accurate. But the original Kite wasn't made of win just because of the fucking. It was because it had the most awesome fight scene ever witnessed in anime, the Bathroom Fight. SO EPIC!

Pretty much agree with your review here, definitely not nearly as good as original Kite. As for animation and 3DCG, I didn`t think it was THAT bad (except that scene you also showed in your review (00:49-00:54)), you see much worse 3DCG in anime made by much bigger animation studios these days. *coughgonzocough*

I wonder if there will be more? Many anime sites don`t list an actual number of episodes, as if there`s still more to come?

Anehwaiz~ That was a pretty cute review :), though I disagreee with his reason of why Kite was so effin pwnsome from the start. >__>; But ya, Liberator was prettz much a letdown. T__T I didn't *hate* it but eck, 7/10 fershur.. ;/
