  • Increible que en al mundo aun sigamos recordando y buscando estos videos!!! larga vida a Duran Duran / Arcadia / The Power Station!!! Siganme en FBK Patricio Agustin Cabezas

  • Dr Parnassus wouldn't be ashame of such Imaginarium! Great!

  • Nick's smile in this video is to die for.

  • Real bass or keys bass? The syncopated picking, bounciness and tone has Sting written allover it. If Sting sang backup on "The Promise", he would have been around at some point during the recording sessions. If its Nick playing keys with a bass sound, I'm impressed.

  • I adore this song and this video. It makes me ache for this time period again. I love the look, the fashion, the sound... Simon *sigh*, Nick. Nothing ... NOTHING compares to this awesomeness.

  • No Nick is no way gay..where have you been...

  • 'Goobye ears forever'!

  • Amazing art video.. specially the final sunset that anticipates one of the finest LP's cover artwork for the next studio album NOTORIUS !

  • Is Nick Rhodes gay? Won't love him any less if he is...still a Nick girl forever!!

  • @csbarlow35 He married a model, fyi.....as did most members of Duran Duran. I don't know how old you are, but this was the '80's, when pop artists (esp from England) were fashion-conscious and wore makeup. It was the style at the time. Nothing more, nothing less. At least they weren't wearing fishnet stockings and spandex like '80's glam metal bands! XD

  • I love this song, one of DDs best ever. Le Bon has such a great tone quality in his voice, and he still sounds good on the new album.

  • ive been a dudran duran fan since day one i listen to everything and have a totally open mind about all music and as far as im concerned ive watched them mature musically and the talent gets better although the last album was a little hard to take but still will remain a big fan

  • I ADORE the extended remix to this amazing track!!

  • The one on the album I keep coming back to.

  • As a long standing Duran Duran (since 1982) when this album came out I had very mixed emotions about it since John, Andy, and Roger was not a part of the Arcadia lineup. As much as I acknowledge that Arcadia was supposed to be distictly separate from DD, it was still hard to see both Nick and Simon perform without the rest of the Taylors (no relation, of course :). Still... after all these years, it's wonderful to hear their music again. Cheers! :D

  • @arigatoMJ .....Arcadia was very set back from DD's music.....strange cause only three out of the fab 5 performed....we should just be happy that the remainders of music is still Duran because of Simon's voice, if they had a different singer, and then Roger and Nick, Arcadia wouldn't sound as good as it did! All I know if I loved the Arcadia era, I loved Nick with black hair, it suited him well! I actually picked up yesterday at a thrift store, the cassette tape for So Red The Rose.....:)

  • @arigatoMJ

i too am a die hard fan and have been since 1981,i too was a bit dubious (would it work being away from the other two) but hey i think you could pretty much say it did.

  • Kinetic Nick

  • Had this on 45, and wore it OUT!!!

  • I never realized they did this many videos for this one-off album! Couldn't beat Duran Duran for cool 80s music videos...

  • I was a massive Arcadia fan when the singles came out, though I remember alot of interest with Election day...there seemed to be AGES before the next single and alot of the interest simply switched to other bands ( and the teenage girls that were duranies were growing up ) For my money Election day should have been put behind "The Flame" and "The promise" as they had a far better, cleaner duran duran sound.

  • Goodbye Ears Forever.

  • nick rhodes is the spine of duran duran

  • absolument G E N I A L !!! j'aime

  • Nick Rhodes, I've loved you since high school (1982-1986). Here's to Forever!

  • @joelerickira It's nice to know I'm not alone at my age!! Nick was always the best. Still is. Always will be.

  • Best Song

  • Me mates Simon and Nicky are tops. From Duran Duran to Arcadia, they extend their creativeness, and come up with some memorable musical gems that marked the pinnacle of what the 80's were, and still is... absolute music magic. Never again this form or sound will ever be repeated or mainstream ever again, never.

  • Nick Rhodes is exquisitely beautiful. Just an unbelievable looking human being.

  • dance to this with me

  • Ok lads... it cost a fortune to make the video for "Wild Boys" but if we turn the watermill into a clock, and the flying chairs into... erhhh... flying chairs, we might just pull it off....

  • I love this video so much, I love everything Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes have done. This video is a standout though because of all the symbolism, if you read it symbolically it makes perfect sense and fits the song perfectly. Especially the last bit where they come to what appears to be a brick wall but it dissolves and reveals a new landscape and they walk on with a smile taking just one look back at the past, BRILLIANT!

  • @SplinteredGlass Good theme to Dark Tower The movie if they make it...or Weave World by Clive Baker!!

  • @ACDCISCOOLNESS Absolutely! I'm glad someone else sees what I see.

  • Superb Deistic-Panentheistic video!!! :-))

Best wishes to all - from Neven Valand, Croatia, Europe

  • Nick is the best looking & sexiest guy in the universe. I so would too........

  • De Venezuela! Excelente tema, que epoca no me cansaba de escucharla!

  • Nick is bloody prettier than a female! I so would though....with Simon as a side dish. hmmm yummy

  • NOW BOYS AND GIRLS......This is what they call music!!!

  • Arcadia were Duran Duran Members Simon Lebon, Nick Rhoades and Roger Taylor who did The Recordings but didn't Appear in any of the Videos. They were Good I wish they would have done More than One Album.

  • 1 word...Duranfeckintastic!!!!!! ;0}} x

  • nearly 30 years in the business and still going strong, doesn't that tell you something, fab, this one is my fave from arcadia

  • aaaah I love this song... it remember me when i went to school

  • Being a damn-near lifetime Duranie, Arcadia was a wet dream come TRUE for me. And, while I absolutely adore John Taylor? The Power Station was totally overrated.

  • SO RED THE ROSE : The "Remastered Special Edition (2 CD & DVD)" is available now. It contains the original album, all 7" / 12" Versions / B-Sides and Rarities. And by the way: all the videos + making of the videos on DVD. It`s amazing !

  • Great project. That's a pity that they have only one album in their discography. I think this is great band and it consists of the best of Duran Duran.

And this song is my favourite from them.

  • this tune is absolutely magical

  • This is why I miss the 80's people actually spent money on videos.

Now and days all you see is concerts or a singer with a bunch of dancers, those aren't videos.

Can't wait for the remaster to come out.

  • mrpobear: That is because back in the 80's the videos were something new and people flocked to see them. I remember staying up late to watch Friday Night Videos at midnight and seeing great videos. Those were pre-cable and pre satellite days for me. Most videos didn't make sense but still great to watch. Music sucks now in pop. Even Country music sucks now. Bring back the 80's.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE ABSOLUTELY

  • CD/DVD with 12" and B sides is due out around April 2010. I can't wait!!!

  • brings back memories. They were a great band. Good video concepts too. New Moon on Monday has to be my fav Duran joint.

  • I want it remastered ... CD / DVD including all the remixes and B-Sides....why i must always listen to the 12" - Vinyls ?

  • and i find it amazing that one band was able to come up with such an incredible one in the space of one year (unless it was save-overs with overdubbing etc.) i remember finding a cassette of this in a cut-out bin for next to nothing in 1990 and thinking 'pffffbt... probably sucks' but i'll give it a go. and wow. blew me away ~ total haunting mystique ~ ~ blah blah blah. one of my all time faves, all time greatest pop/rock IMHO.

  • This was the most expensive album ever made at the time...and it was worth every penny, because it is fucking awesome from start to finish.

  • thats great :)~

except this is not duran duran it's arcadia :D i know. close. power station. not a bad project, but to me Arcadia was the Duran Duran album of 1985 (?). power station didn't sound very DD at all. best part IMO being a cover of a t rex song. being a recording 'artist' myself i know how hard it is to put a *good* cd/album together

  • Wonderful song. I love Duran Duran so much.

  • My FAVORITE album of all time!

  • Nick and Simon are so nice....I love Nick's smile...

  • I had this song on 45

  • omg how cute is nick??

  • Especially at 2:03 that part always made me laugh. But Roger was my fave. yummy =)

  • What about a remastered 2-CD + DVD - Release including all of it ? By the way, this one is fantastic.

  • Well... We'll finally get it in February 2010!

  • I think it will be released in February 2010 :D

  • Great song, best of Arcadia and best Duran Duran song NOT made..

Still remember lyrics after 20+ years..

  • Since I rated So Red the Rose 11/10 I felt this would be appropriate to justify my rating. The best tracks (very tight throughout the full album) would be Keep Me In the Dark 1st = and Goodbye Is Forever 1st =. Missing - 3 The Flame - 4 Election Day - 5.

  • I would like to add that if pressed to choose at that time, Arcadia, in my opinion, were vastly better than Power Station and were not even comparable to Arcadia. To Duran fans it is a hard place to be - Arcadia and Power Station but Arcadia produced a fantastic, powerful, imaginative, moody, ambient, visual, catchy and elegant album of what is much closer to DD.

  • This did seem as that Duran were disintegrating in 1985 and to an extent they were with AT. In truthy, I kinda liked Power Station coz of my Duran loyalty but Arcadia were a decent if not equal in parts splinter group to Duran. I felt that So Red the Rose was a marvellous album and pretty much sounded like an obscure Duran album. Still, it brings be to being around 16 and thinking of kissing girls, life from a young persons persepctive, anxiety at youth and wondering where I fitted in life.11/10

  • I was a fan during those years. And still am today. As if they were bading farewell... Lo..goodbye indeed...

  • Just incredible, i know a lot of people were turned off by arcadia, and ps, but the songs on the ardacia album, were so good.

  • Muy buen tema, excelente...

  • Hey...is it just me or at the end of the video, do Simon and Nick walk into the 'sunset' that happens to look an awful lot like the cover art for the Notorious album??? Any thoughts?

  • Nick.......I Love You ! -Joel

  • Nick is soooooooooooooooo terribly, unbelievably HOT! And so CUTE when he wakes up. He makes you cuddle him.

  • i love the way they dyed their hair dark to become arcadia...alll the dark clothes too was gr8 :)

  • I agree : far better texts than most duran songs.Much better than Powerstation...1 album was not enough...

  • Big Fan, to preface, but is it me or does Nick sorta look like Stockard Channing?

  • goodbye is forever...that for sure...

    ( sometimes!!!)

  • Original song, original video. Absolutely brilliant.

  • You are right pocketgoth. I listen to my "So red the Rose" album many many times more than any of the Duran Duran hits.

  • I never understood why Arcadia never quite got the attention that Duran Duran did. I think this music is superior to DD, much more intricate and cerebral. Not that I don't like DD, but I was kind of disappointed when DD got back together and Arcadia was no more.

  • We, as Duran Duran fans were so heartbroken over the split at the time that it was a little difficult to accept Arcadia or the Power Station. At least, that's how it was for me.

However, I did favor Arcadia over Power Station, but I wasn't happy about it.

  • Arcadia does hew closer to the Duran Duran sound overall than Power Station so I could see many DD fans favouring them over PS. I mean, DD is not DD without those synths and Arcadia had plenty.

Me, I was a huge PS fan. Wore that cassette right out.

  • Nick, I've loved you since high school

    (1982 - 1986). Here's to forever !

  • "If your world is so grey, we can decide it. There'd be no tears, no tragedy"... Best sarcasm EVER

  • Love this. Simon and Nick kicked some serious ass witht his cd. Prefered it over Powerstation...

  • the best of band arcadia verços duran duran ok

  • It's been a long time since I heard this song. This album is one of my favorites in the 80s. When Duran Duran disbanded for awhile, I prefer Simon, Roger and Nick's Arcadia over Taylor duo's Powerstation. Listening to it (album as a whole) is just pure bliss. Nick did a great job providing the right architecture in sound. The atmosphere is perfect.

  • Probably my favorite album all-time along with Duran's Rio.

  • This song is a gem. I just love it.

  • Simon Le Bon...so young

  • Thanks for posting this. Great quality.

  • best sound!!!

  • By the way, Arcadia was just another creative element of Duran2.

  • I always thought that this was a great guitar riff

  • Nick, I've loved you since high school ( 1982-1986). Here's to Forever !

  • MARAVILLOSO

  • Video muy bonito y canción preciosa

  • SO RED THE ROSE by ARCADIA is my favourite album i would take with me on a lost island forever.

  • If I hadn't seen Nick in interviews, I'd swear the man is mute. Does he ever sing?

  • Nick doesn't sing. Simon is the singer, Nick is the keyboardist and the brain of the band

  • Not even backup? Ah well. He's talented, kind, gorgeous, and brilliant. I can't have everything. :P

  • u have that right, and a little teeny weeny bloody good looking to boot

  • Just a little?! Are we talking about the same man? :D

  • 'So Red the Rose' is my favorite album of al time along with Duran's 'Rio'. I can't say there was a bad song on 'So Red'. Never got the publicity or acclaim it deserved.

  • True indeed. Its a phenomenal album, one of my faves also. I recently got a copy of the fan club Singles boxset from Japan so i'm a a happy bunny right now !

  • I might have to check out this thing called Japan.

  • thats what i think, its my fave also, the tracks on it are just something else if u are true duranie u would know what i mean

  • Nick, I've been in love with you since high school (1982-1986). Here's to Forever! -Joel

  • 17 years old... living at home with my parents, in love with the girl I thought at the time was the one and only for me. Parties were fun not dangerous.Music was about having a good time, not anger and rage. The 80's were sooo good !!!

Looking back, it's so vivid and fresh in my mind though it was so long ago. It makes me smile and my eyes water all at once because those days are never coming back. Goodbye is Forever!!

  • Yes. Nice memories.

  • Was the end of this video the inspiration for the Notorious LP sleeve or is it pure coincidence?

  • nick will play agent joe 90 in the remake of the film simon will be stingray ,roger will be alan tracy ,john will be gordon tracy and andy will be brains hahahahahahah anarky all over the world hahahahahah

  • nick was always the coolest looking guy in the band...very well put together:)laura lynn

  • as an avid and manic fan since the beginning of duran and arcadia i must say this is and liberty will be my ultimate fave albums

  • I forgot how good this song was. Thanks for the upload.

  • I think it`s time for a CD / DVD release with all 12" Versions, B-Sides and videos from ARCADIA`s SO RED THE ROSE. Still brilliant and so fantastic songs on it.

  • nick is so cuuuuuuliauuuu hahahhahahahaha thnaks utube for post it!!!!

  • I looove Nick sooooooo much...I just wanna gobble him all up. I know that sounds wrong, but he is just sooooo yummy.

  • oh, Nick is so cuuuuuuuuuuuuute!

  • Critics Had a lot of praise for the Arcadia project, I meant to say.

  • Critics has a lot of praise for Arcadia.

  • This was my favorite album of all time. I was a huge Duran fan and this album was soooo underrated.

  • Love Nick's smile at 2:04. He's so adorable and cute!!! Love you Nick forever and ever!!!!

  • ohhh, Nick is so incredibly gorgeous...almost unreal...He is beautiful in every sense...I LOVE HIM!

  • I love nick's face in the beginning...but i alwas love him,but i like his face the most at 0:16.I love his eyes at that part!!! I hope people agree with me,if you think he's ugly, rude, etc. don't leave a comment about nick OR simon.Keep your words to yourself if you hate them!!!

  • ABSOLUTELY!

    nick is just SO gorgeous!

and yeah, people should keep that kind of comments to themselves, they should stop comparing

  • It's ALL about Nick!

  • love his smile at 1:11

  • Nick,I've been in love with you since high school (1982-1986). Here's to Forever!

  • its funny they ended with a similar tree, like in the notorious video (next dd chapter)

  • MY fave Arcadia song ...thanks for uploading

  • So genius.

  • Great song on "So red the rose" album!

  • So Red The Rose is the true follow up to 7 and the Ragged Tiger ... not Notoriious ... this is duran duran at it's finest

  • This video IS haunting as is the song. I always imagined they had fun making it

  • Great song. Haunting. Reminds me of my first girlfriend.

  • I hear you. :[

  • So Red The Rose has got to be one of the most underrated albums in pop music...

  • Great Song.

  • Total cool video of a totally cool decade.

Memories. Them chaps Simon LeBon and Nick Rhodes are superbly striking then as they are today. Arcadia was the "short term creative process out of Duran Duran" conjured up by LeBon and Rhodes.

  • Nick, I've been in love with you since high school (1982-1986). Here's to forever! I will love you forever. -Joel

  • aouoauoauioh!

  • That was great! One of those rare cases where I love the video almost as much as the song.

  • When I was a child I loved Nick of Duran Duran.. Now I adore Martin Gore of Depeche Mode... The mine is a MANIA!!!

P.S. I'm sorry for my bad english!

  • I always found them to be very very similar. What can I say, you have EXCELLENT taste in men!

  • I always think of this song, after a breakup, because it really is "forever"...

  • Does feel like it. When my close inner circle of friends one by one left to start a new life else where (espeically one of them whom I adored), this song everytime comes to mind. It really pulls on the heartstrings. Miss them, and miss the 80's...

  • Nick Rhodes is beautiful...

  • I think so...

  • god i want nicks children<3

  • XD

he is one beautiful beautiful man <3

    Love the video so inventive.

You don't get unique stuff like this anymore, or rarely.

  • I am a 37 year old soul sister and I have been in love with Duran Duran since I was 11 yrs. old. When they appeared on Soul Train as did The Romantics I knew that these guys were going to be huge crossover bands. I love the 80's music it was a time when music was good and you could go to a party and really have a good time singing and dancing with friends!!! Duran Duran so totally rocks!!!

  • Nick, I've been in love with you since high school (1982-1986). I will always be in lust with you. Here's to forever!

  • que lindo.. que melancólico.. tiene ese no se qué al estilo del tema forever young de Alphaville

  • fuckin great song

  • me encanta. lo podria estar viendo horas

  • OH a great overlooked 80s gem.. they played it in the background of I love the 80s 3d today and that made me look for it.. i remember watching this video at quarter of 3 am on some late night video show in 85.. i snuck out of bed as i was like 9 or 10. First time i've seen it since, still as good as i remember. Why this song was never a bigger hit then #33 is beyond me.

  • ooor. nick can just have me any day of the week.

  • He can also have me any day! He's the god of all of Duran!

  • Nice...

  • This is a really good song.

  • I love this song. One of the best from the 80's.
