  • we sought help and change..but things got worse..especially the last 3 years....when we have politicians apologizing for everything america does.....trying to take away everything we built up..making it wrong to try to make life better for yourself and your family.....kit's like a call to arms!!!!..raise the flag...and shove it into the face of of libs everywhere!!!

  • I could listen to that song over and over.....

  • Who plays the sax?

  • The sad part is that most of the problems America faces today are self inflicted.

  • Obama will help the stupid sheeple NOT

  • "Low Budget" is an unrecognized "classic".As are The Kinks.

  • low budget underrated genouisxx

  • thanks ray..

  • why the fcuk would you put a gay ass 911 picture in this? that picture is too funny for this song

  • @Tsotsiiidos Your a Idiot.

  • @Mausome you're jealous

  • just take the music for what it is and stop analizing it !!

  • I love the Kinks! and have so much respect for them for this song. :)

  • 30 year old song that's come back to be incredibly relevant today.

  • Mausome - you are right about Brits having that conflict, or at least the Brits of that generation. George Harrison was famous for wanting a socialist paradise on earth, but then complaining bitterly about the high taxes ("Taxman") and governmental monopoly that would be necessary to accomplish that.

  • I'm glad to see that all of you (right or left, I don't care, we all know there are serious problems) realize exactly what this song is about. Very few people do - in 1979 almost no one did. I saw the Kinks in concert twice - Ray Davies explained it's political backstory. \

BUT ALL OF YOU, RIGHT OR LEFT, SHOULD REALIZE THAT RAY DAVIES WAS AN AVOWED SOCIALIST WHO STILL RESPECTED THE US AND APPRECIATED WHAT WE HAD DONE FOR THE REST OF THE WORLD.

  • @jking1737 Like many Brits, Ray Davies has an internalized conflict between the desire for a quasi-socialist solution to major socio-economic issues and the distaste for the inevitable bureaucracy that must accompany it.

  • Such a great piano intro to this great song with great lyrics !!!

  • Why is Lifehouse in the suggestions??

  • People who give Negative Comments on this Video Probably thought it was Anti-American and dont know anything about the song.

  • @Mausome hey jackass, are you still imagining your own lame reality? Nobody has made any negative comments about the video! Remember, your hero Glen Beck finished high school, you should at least try to learn to read. Dummy!

  • I was 16 when this song came out and yes times were hard. At one point there were months of job searching, waiting in long lines with other guys looking for work sweeping floors, pumping gas or anything. But most people were optimistic about the future, and America came out of that recession stronger than ever. What I see around us now is fear, cynicism and possibly a deflationary depression. This is much, much worse and this song is more relevant than ever. Nobody is going to come help us.

  • @lupegaru2 - totally man, there was room for optimism then but now? no way! very relevent now as is a number for songs that hit home more than ever... cheers man

  • @lupegaru2 You are right. PEOPLE GOTTA HELP EACHOTHER.

  • Seriously. fuck you Vladmir Putin.

  • While ya'll argue over dumb shit I'm jamming out to an incredible song that isn't just timeless its genius!

  • Can anybody back up what a lot of the commenters are saying, that this is a pro-America song?

I can see how you could read something like that into the lyrics if you really want to, but it's far from absolute, and I'm finding nothing online to back up the idea that Ray had that in mind when he wrote the song.

  • We need a another Ronald Reagan

  • @Mausome We need a smart public

  • @Mausome The "Reagan Revolution" is what started the US on the road to the hell that it's in now.

  • @integral No, Jimmy Carter did that. I was there. Ronald Reagan brought us back. We had high unemployment and it just got worst every year during the Carter Administration. Kinda like what going thru now with Obama. Carter was Weak. Reagan was a Strong Leader. To this day, Jimmy Carter still whines, complains and blames everybody for his failures. Kinda like guess who: Barack H.Obama.

  • @Mausome Remedial US history lessons for you. Stat!

Altho considering you talk like someone who just might actually believe that Fox Nooze really is "fair and balanced" I suspect the likelihood that you might get with the real world is infinitesimal.

  • @integral I gave you facts on what happened with Jimmy Carter. This song came out in 1979 " Catch me now I'm falling" during the Carter Administion. That was the mood of the Country then and now. The Media gave Carter a pass as they do Obama. Were you even around in 1979? Where did you get your info from? I bet it was from some Socialist Professor at College or MSNBC. Get rid of the weed and start paying attention you dont want a Bigger Goverment.

  • @Mausome Facts? I give up. Your clearly incapable of distinguishing fact from opinion, far right propaganda opinion in this case.

Sorry pookie, you're a hopeless case.

  • @integral I told ya, I lived it. From 1976 (age 17) to to where at now. I was like you at one at time. The Media in 1980 had me affraid of Ronald Reagan. After a year of him in Office I realized he was a great leader and made people proud to be American. Since Obama came into the White House, Carter now is the 2nd Worst President. "Hope & Change" LOL!! Maybe you should watch the video again and stop buying into the media propaganda. You can always become a conservtive as I did. Good Luck.

  • @Mausome To advise a young person to watch a video as a means of learning something is silly. It is also silly to compare Carter to Obama. One fouled up the Iran hostage crisis, the other nailed Bin Laden. The main thing they have in common is the fact that both were elected largely in response to major debacles inflicted upon the US by some of the worst republican presidents in history, tricky Dick and dopey George. However, I understand things are always very simple for conservatives.

  • @msg238 That young person made a reply-comment on this video to me. As for Carter & Obama: Yes,1st & 2nd worst are close in comparing. Both Socialist, both Hypocrites, both Apoligized to other nations, both dislike Isreal, hate big companys that hire people. Both Like rising taxes and dividing people,etc...Credit to Obama, he gives great speehes (as long as he has a teleprompter). If he doesnt he turns to mush. LOL. As for Nixon, he was a Choirboy compared to Sleek Willie.

  • @msg238 You have no business commenting on anything American. Go back or stay in your own country Asshole.

  • @Mausome Look dumbass, the US is my country. But you too stupid to listen to other opinions or believe in free speech. Keep having sex with your immediate family members. At least they understand you even if they secretly hate you.

  • @Mausome by the way, the media had you "afraid of Ronald Reagan"?. Why am I not surprised, you silly little twat? You are probably afraid of lots of things if the media tells you be. I voted for Ronald Reagan both times. How soon after he was elected did you try to fellate him? I also voted for Obama and will again when he is re-elected. Another big difference from Carter.

  • @msg238 Hey, Great comments on French B-Movie you really liked.LOL. When you commented that Americans are 'not bright enough'. I bet you still live in your parents basement. Your Profile says you are 36 so you voted for Reagan when you were 5 in 1980, then again in 1984 when you were 9? LOL!! I cant get into the Accordian Clips that you really Love. You came to this Kinks Video because you thought it was Anti-American. Q:How do you piss a off a Lib? A:Tell them the Truth. You Funny!

  • @Mausome hey dummy, you prove my point. your life is so meaningless, you try to do research about me. sorry if youtube isnt my passport application. unlike you, i have a life so i am not too interested in your info. you definitely would not be bright enough to understand that film. maybe if it was about incest or pedophiles you would enjoy it. or a porno with you and glen beck smoking crack would really make you happy.

  • @msg238 It would be nice, if you could bring up any real info in an arguement.

  • @Mausome it would be even nicer if you knew how to spell the word argument. why should i stoop to your level? you call me a "liberal" merely because I am in favor of free speech. you are a true beck/hannity conservative. everyone must agree with your nonsense or they are a "liberal" Worse, you don't like the accordion because you can only listen to the deliverance theme song on banjo because it gives you wood.

  • @Mausome sorry mau mau about the age thing, but your mom plugged that in when she was over here cleaning my ball sack. you know how unreliable she is. good math though. you must have felt like a real detective. you are definitely a private dick! i still say you should give that ged program another shot. they say it's easier now.

  • @msg238 Its Funny that your really Pissed off so bad that you steeped so low with childish & immature perverted comments. You are waste of time. I bet your neighbors are affraid of you. If you think your comments bother me, they dont. Grow up and get your mind out of the Gutter. Weirdo. LOLs! Go to some Anti-American Videos that your for. Your not worth my time.

  • @Mausome it's ok you illiterate moron. I don't need you, i have your mom. of course you would think my neighbors are afraid of me. you are afraid of not only me, but also your own shadow. you should seriously consider trying that ged test. if you can somehow get a hs education, you will be on the same level as your idol glen beck.

  • @Mausome F O

  • brilliant song, Kinks have a beautiful simplicity and genius hooks - great arrangement with horns and backing vocals, love the mix

  • Jumping jack flash

  • @seventhavenuebeats Satisfaction = Jumpin' Jack Flash = Catch Me Now I'm Falling.

  • Beautiful job. Amazing how this song is more relevant than ever VIVE LE DAVIES

  • holy shit this songs so amazing

  • listen to the song

  • 32 yrs later and America is falling.....falling hard....Ray was right in 79 and right now...the dollar is dying.......inflation is stealing all our money....401k's ira's are losing money everyday....save yourself and buy silver before its too late...God save all the kinks fans around the world

  • i seem to remember that Ray wrote this around the time that American airplanes were being hijacked and blown up.

It was a great song from the englishman, great appreciation of the US dilemma. They always try and help everybody out but when they needed who came to their rescue?

  • Strangely topical again. As an american expat living in europe, it is way deeper than the economy at the core of the current decline. America has lost the courage to say yea, don't tread on me. we got caught up in the concept of being liked by the world, got caught up in being politically correct to the point where it killed freedom of speech. America as a country is an adolecent who will either die of self loathing or get over ourselves and get back to necessity is the mother of invention

  • epic

  • As a PROUD American, I say we should kindly ask China to forgive our loans, when they refuse we should just tell them sorry we can't/won't pay you...we don't have the money right now..when they ask "what do you mean, you are America what did you spend it on? ! we should kindly reply "Just these nuclear missles pointed right at your doink asses !" now back off boogaloo!

  • @seany722

Oh yea, that's real smart. The real problem is our fiscal policy. If we default on our loan from China without changing the reason why we got into debt in the first place, nothing will change. Instead of going back into debt, because our credibility is shot, no one will lend us money, so we'll have to print more money, causing hyperinflation. Enjoy your $500 hamburgers.

    Brilliant plan.

  • @ninjagold . have to admit, this Seany charachter may me a bit out there, but on some level he has a point..my beloved dog died from poison pet food we imported from china, and I am afraid to let my daughter play with half of her toys because they were made in china and they * accidently * used toxic lead in making them. i trust the chinks about as far as i can throw the fuckers !

  • @Fawn2123 If we quit buying their fake rubber dog shit and make our own fake rubber dog shit their economy will crash and ours will fix itself.

  • AMERICA IS NOT IN TERMINAL DECLINE! NEVER! IT IS JUST A BIT SHAKEN & CONFUSED! BUT Captain America is here in London and he is COMING BACK some day! President Obama tried to do his very best but the corrupt GOP and some weak Dems failed US! And the answer is not the so-called Tea Party! NO WAY!

America was founded by Responsibly Progressive Liberal Social Democrats even before these terms were known! Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Delano Roosevelt & JFK CAPTAINS!

  • RON PAUL!!

  • I came to feed you, but now that I need you, you won't give me a second glance.

  • @CMD9889 That was my mistake...Hello I Love You sounds like All Day and All Night.

  • @holydiver150 I still don't see a similarity.

  • @holydiver150 yeah I was always bothered by that

  • The rumour is that the Kinks invented that Jumpin' Jack lick first and the Stones stole it.

Probably is true since the Stones didn't sue in the early '80's when this tune was a huge FM AOR hit.

There is a certain sense of ownership the Kinks show here with that riff. The word would be 'blatant'.

  • You frickin muslim aholes get around me, I'll stone you!

Sorry, I meant, the stones are good, and I always enjoyed Ravi Shankar!

  • @luskie123456 Most bands have ripped off something from some band or another. I'm not a die hard Rolling Stones fan or anything, they've most definitely copied riffs from somewhere too. However, I think it is hard to deny that there is a similarity between the riff here in Catch Me Now I'm Falling and Jumpin Jack Flash. In fact, the only difference between the riffs is that the tempo in this riff slower than that in Jumpin Jack Flash.

  • @holydiver150 i believe it was Bob Dylan who said to the rolling stones upon meeting them, "Hey you're that groovy covers band right?"

  • @luskie123456 I agree that the Kinks have been copied. If you listen to "Hello, I Love You by the Doors (written in 1968), you can see how they may have copied the riff from "You Really Got Me Now". However, while they are a good band and may not get the recognition they deserve, that doesn't give them the right to copy a band like the rolling stones. Look at how long that band has been around. They wrote a lot of their music in the 60's. Catch Me Now I'm Falling was written in 1979.

  • @holydiver150 Ummm...I agreed with you on this sounding like Jumpin' Jack Flash, but I totally disagree with you on You Really Got Me sounding like Hello, I Love You! I don't see ANY similarity in those two songs!

  • Honestly...does no one see the similarity of the riff starting at 0:49 seconds to the main riff in "Jumpin Jack Flash" written by the Rolling Stones?

  • @holydiver150 Many bands and artists have ripped off many things that the kinks wrote. Its sad that the Kinks don't get the recognition that they deserve.

  • @holydiver150 Yeah, I guess you're right. I never noticed that before!

  • We could take out all of these enemies at the same time if necessary.

  • the Goo Goo Doll's did an awesome cover of this

  • Good job on the vid.. I enjoyed it.. Great tune too..

  • Mustang Jones is here and MJ hears a bad-ass Ray Davies and The Kinks.

Re-anoint your soul and re-Kink yourself!

This is Captain America, over and out.

  • It's enough to bring me to tears listening to this song while knowing the greatest hope the world has ever known is in terminal decline.

    BILL

  • @barker131776 Well of course this song was written for the "Low Budget" album released in 1979. Just think of it as an ode to Jimmy Carter. Better times were just around the corner.

  • @uniquelysame uh oh, somebody bought the "Reagan's awesome" crap the GOP's been selling. How sad.

  • @barker131776 With all due respects, the greatest hope the world has ever known is NOT in terminal decline. Allow me to paraphrase what a great man said thirty years ago. "I reject the notion that America has seen her best days and that we have to learn to live as a second rate country." That man was Ronald Wilson Reagan!

  • @AbeL0212

You keep telling yourself that while bankruptcy continues to rise at a rate of 30% per month

  • @AbeL0212 Reagan said that the Democrats believe "the United States has had its days in the sun, that our nation has passed its zenith.… My fellow citizens, I utterly reject that view." That was 30 years ago. Wake up, things have changed drastically. Now are bankrupt, and the only reason we haven't collapsed is that China hasn't called in the notes. Reagan was right, but since he's been out of office, every president, congress person, and senator has done nothing but spend, spend, spend.

  • @jiveyivey Sorry our decline began under Carter and Reagan remember deregulation of trucking and airline industry which begun the long decline of the middle class and good paying middle class jobs replaced by cheap walmart jobs, Look at our steel industry, ship yards out sourcing of jobs our shores swamped by illegals encouraged by Reagans amenesty in 1986 GW opening up the flood gates to illegals to help his rich republican friends and votes for democrates thats where the blame lie

  • @jiveyivey China doesn't have an option to call their loans.

Debt to a sovereign government doesn't work the same way as with a natural human being. The national debt is reason for concern but the US is hardly on the verge of bankruptcy despite the hysterical rhetoric of those who are clueless about economic theory.

  • How many of you guys were alive and old enough to be aware of the economy in 1980? I'm not sure how anyone could have lived through that era and still promote the canard that Mr. Reagan was anything less than an economic miracle worker.

kesterling2003 is a member of, and a voter registered the Green party, and most certainly not a Republitard.

  • @kesterling2003

    You're fucking retarded.

  • @barker131776 - I agree. Don't it always seem to go, you don't know what you've got 'tll it's gone.

  • @barker131776 as long as there are freedom-minded people in the world, we can always start over. soon we may be able to move off the planet if worst comes to worst

  • @barker131776 Your post did bring a tear to my eye

  • @barker131776 Stick around. We been down before. But we just keep getting up and dusting ourselves off. Thats why we've been kickin butt and taking names since 1775.

  • it nice to see a band that appreciate's the good old ....U.S.OF A

  • @hacksack1 ?

  • Nice job copying my video directly. Takes a lot of originality.

  • Well done!!! Very timely

  • Well done!!! Very timely
