@RoscoeBa Thanks so much, I'm getting ready to order this bad and I wanted the color of yours so I was just waiting to see if it was foliage green for sure. Great videos though and it's alright!
Great review of the Vulture 2. I'm trying to decide between it and the Condor 2 for a 72-hr / prep bag for the car, looks like the Vulture has about 1000 cubic inches more space, which would be handy. Sharp looking too. Thank you for the great review.
@mokyan7 I'd have to recommend the V-2. I used the Condor-2 this summer for an extended little hiking trip (for me) and it just didn't have the space I could have had with the V-2. Was really kicking myself for not making the right pack choice. Good luck!
@RoscoeBa Great - thank you for the recommendation. I also found a great 'side by side' pic of the Vulture 2, Condor 2, and Falcon 2 at a forum online (youtube is blocking the pasted address), and with that and your other vids comparing the Falcon and Vulture, it is helpful. I have a Pygmy Falcon 2 already, and it is solid, but too small for a BOB/72-hr/prep/get home bag (or whatever it is called). I want to buy once and forget it.
Yay, girlie patches! lol. Another excellent detailed review Roz. Thanks so much. You are again responsible for pushing me over the edge to finally getting a Vulture2! (you and PackRat556) I appreciate a woman's take on the Maxpedition stuff...And of course I had to get it in black, but I agonized over the decision, after freaking out the school secretary with my black Remora. ;) Best wishes!
@redridingrube haha Thx Red! I feel your pain in agonizing over which color(s) to get. Don't worry about that Secretary, I'll bet she's seen it all! :-)
Great video. I have that same backpack and that Rite in the Rain notebook as well. Usually the Rite in the Rain notebook goes with me on insurance claims. Great tool for taking notes anywhere outside the office.
@faliaphotography Hi Falia. This thing holds quite a load. I took it on my last 3 day overnight hike and it worked very well. I enjoyed hiking with it. Good luck!
They do make outstanding gear. But at this point and time they do not make any bags for back packing. While this bag could be used for a light trip and it's a start. I could not see my self fitting all my gear into this bag (Tent, sleeping bag, camcorder, food, water, and so on.)
@IrishPuglover3565 Indeed, I did not have to haul tent and bedding so you can gauge that better than I. It is a large pack and not in the "lite" packers category but it suited me ok. Good luck and thx for your comments! P.S. my first dog was a pug...King (of course) ;-)
Great Review; good Basic first hand Informations in a short vid without a lot of talking around. Thanks for the upload; just bought a active shooter bag after having seen your video which made my decision clear for after being uncertain of buying it.
A female Geardo; i knew there are some out there :-D
Hey Ros. First off, I love your vids! I've purchased several Maxpedition products based solely on your reviews so keep 'em coming. :) I had a question about this bag before I buy it. I'm looking for a pack that I can use as an overnight bag while I'm out in the woods. Just wondering but would you say this is large enough to carry and sleeping bag and a tent? I've got the Big Agnes Lost Ranger bag and a Cabelas XPG Ultra Light tent. Not sure if the 2810cuin would be large enough. Thanks!
Ros, I have been watching the tube for a while now, and yours is one of my all time favorites. You do an awesome job! Please keep the vids comming. This was one of the first videos I ever watched, and is the absolutely the very best review (in my opinion) of this product. You Rock !
Hi! I love all your maxpedition's reviews and i need to ask you about something... COULD YOU PLEASE I BEG YOU MAKE A RVIEW ON CAMELBAK H.A.W.G made of Cordura 1000D and CAMELBAK H.A.W.G made of Cordura 500D. Please there is no reviews comparing these two... Can you help ??
What would be a good pack for hunting considering i would be wearing for hours but not really long amounts of time maybe ten mile walks it would have to be some what light maybe a water bladder
@mustangfootball63 For hunting you probably want something nice and durable and tough against the elements. I've not seen a Kodiak but that might be a good pack. Sling the pack over one shoulder and the shotgun over the other.
Im starting to more and more dig this new molle type gear ,......at first i poo-pooed it because i Thought it was a bunch of mall ninja crap..But this stuff looks reallly handy! Time to upgrade my gear from communist block surplus to 21st century modular gear.I like this pack ....Good reveiw
I wonder if you could wear this over a Russian style ak47 mag chest rig......
Hiya DM. This V-II is enorm-o. Alot of guys like the Pygmy Falcon and the Falcon-II. I've not seen a Condor but that might be good for school too. Vague answer, eh? lol Good luck! I love your channel. -Roz
Thanks Roz not to Vague the videos are informative just wanted to pick your brainto see what you thought if the bag would work. it is either the vulture II or the 5.11 rush 72 pack. I'm always watching and rewatching your Maxpedition videos can't get enough of them. Thanks again Roz take care.
unfortunately it looks there is no such a thing.. i got mine in the begin of this week and im quite unhappy, not just disapointed about the whole product.. there is supposed to be a thing called ATS Frame Sheet Insert, widely supplied in US, but as im currently in london i just havent been able to get it in here.. im slovakian and im surprised that rucksacks from slovakia, i used to had, were much better designed (and indeed much cheaper) than this £130 gear..:(
I'm thinking of getting one of these and was wondering how it would go with extra 5-10L pockets strapped on the side for an extended hike, maybe a week hiking ultra-light. Was wondering would it still be comfy? Cheers for the vid, does look like a great bag!
Mabeye....if you strapped your sleeping bag on the outside and carried a tarp instead of tent. Remember though, this is a military spec backpack and a 3 day pack for the military is way smaller than for civilian.
Gooooood question! Sitka goes out with me on my weekend day hikes, Vulture-II for overnighters, and Jumbo for when I carry food when we hike out to a local peak for Sunday dinner.
I think it is. They have the Fliegerduffle-thingy but I think that has its backpack straps just for easy carry across the airport and maybe not for hiking.
I wish I had ordered the Vulture 2 instead of the Kodiak. :0) They are supposed to release this pack in new colors in a month or so, waiting till then before I order one. You do a superb job reviewing these bags by the way, keep em coming.
Im gonna call em loopies. I dont know. What do you call them? Haha great review!=]

Which color do you think good ? I mean, I do not want it to look too tactical.
I wish I could see a 5.11 tactical Rush 24/72 hours bags side by side comparison ...

Does Maxpedition make an internal frame pack that can be used for long-term (7 day) trips?
What is the max comfortable carry weight?

try ATS Frame Sheet Insert.. the only thing i found on net which could solve this rather appaling problem..
toono21 2 years ago
@XCritonX
what you can do, is use the pouch for the water bladder to put a frame in there.
csmitty101 1 year ago

does it have an internal frame at all? if not does it cause a problem?
