I remember being able to somehow get to the desktop environment of these kind of ticket machine back in 2003 (the once used by the Belgian railways used Windows NT), always had a blast going into the WINNT folder, removing some stuff and hitting the reboot button only to see an error on the screen saying Windows cannot start. God I was a geek even as a kid T_T
@CookieGuru: This kind of service is up to the owner of the devices. I am quite sure, they have some kind of remote assistant available.
However, this is a technician dialing in and providing immediate service. They do not use VNC but rather a more sophisticated piece of remote software. VNC does not match the todays security requests,
They should use LogMeIn..then have optional to blank the screen while u remote controlling it.

um, why are you filming this? you're not allowed to film. soundtransit is a little blip. it's a dinky tiny system. it doesn't matter.

@tkandme3 I can film whatever I want to. It's public property.

So I thought I posted this earlier, but I guess I didn't.
Turns out the remote control software is made by a company named DameWare.

They're probably using VNC. Unlike RDP, it only allows you to interact with the console session.
It'd be really cool if they could offer assistance remotely: "I'm having trouble finding out how to buy a day pass."

I used to modify Windows XP Pro to allow concurrent logins from RDP. Very handy for sharing the same PC!

Start --> Run --> mstsc /admin /v:hostname
No mods needed, but can't be shared.
I run VNC on my dad's PC so I can help him remotely.
