  • he sucks. halls better

  • haha brian burke is a douchebag.i know he regrets giving up sseguin for kessel no matter what he says

  • Taylor*

  • Tyler had less ice time that Taylir did.You have to consider that. Tyler is on a stacked team. This year hes a top six forward. It would be the same thing stats wise for Taylor Hall if he would be on the Bruins squad.

  • How bout that Taylor gets his name on the memorial cup and Tyler gets his name on the Stanley cup

  • And 1 year later he's got his name on the Stanley cup

  • @MATTLIO7

What high school did he go to???

  • @Charles2337

What elementary school did he go to???

  • @MATTLI07

What high school did he go to??

  • went to highschool with him

  • i own

  • I can't believe I went to elementary school with this guy.

  • glad to see him on an original 6 team

  • I like pretending he's a Leaf

  • @Gdayguy36 you an IDIOT the hawks have traded NEIMI FOR GOD DAMN MARTY TURCO WHO IS LIKE 40 and sucks cock, and they traded byfuglien and versteeg. hawks are gonna have a baaaad Stanley cup hang over this season

  • Doesn't really matter. The Hawks are just going to own the NHL this year just like they did last year anyway.

  • He's so lucky to have gone to such a great organization. WAY better than the Leafs, better scouting unit.

  • Welcome to the Bruins, Seguin! Can't wait to see you play! LET'S GO BRUINS!!!!

  • Boston Bruins. Yeah.

  • Welcome to Boston Tyler!!!!!!!

  • he would have been playing for a canadian team if toronto wasnt retarded

  • Welcome to Boston Tyler,Its gonnah be wicked pissah to have ya heah....translate...

welcome to Boston Tyler,We are proud to have you and will support you as long as you play hard and wear the spoked "B".You are our family now!!!

  • Looking forward to seeing him on the Bruins in 2011. Congrads to Tyler.

  • Thats why The Bruins Have him!!!!!

  • Welcome to Boston

  • Hope he comes to Edmonton.

  • This kid is going to be the Number 1 Pick.

    He's got the whole package.

Even if he's not, he is still a great player.

  • Should be the 1st overall pick; Had as many points as Hall and played on a weaker team. The Windsor Spitfires would still be good without taylor Hall, they have more secondary scoring than the Plymouth Whalers. Seguin has shown that he can put up big numbers on a weak team therefore he should go 1st overall to the Edmonton Oilers. Plus, the Oilers are in need on a centre, Hall is a winger. He is younger than Taylor Hall and has shown more improvement in his OHL career.

  • Welcome to Boston!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @gizz88 NUH UH UH!!! WELCOME TO EDMONTON,ALBERT, CANADA. YUP CANADA WHERE HE BELONGS!!!!!!!!!!

  • seguin players with players with much less talent than the players that hall plays with.

plus its always better to have a centre than a winger. look at toronto even, they have a really good winger in kessel but whos playing with him, bozak...its sad that bozak is the best toronto can do for kessel

  • Tyler Seguin - Ryan Getzlaf - Steven Stamkos = epic failure for Russia in 2014.

  • gonna be a bruin.

  • I am under the impression that a deal to swap picks with the Oilers may hit a snag concerning Boston's 15th overall pick... I am willing to bet Tambellini is eyeing that pick as part of a deal to swap (and some of our others 32nd, etc). I think Boston would prefer to hold on to that pick, and deal away the 32nd overall and perhaps the first rounder acuired by Toronto for next years draft (which promises to be another top 10 selection).

  • @Bruinology Boston made a great move getting Torontos 1st pick there a playoff team thats only getting stronger with the pick and Torontos not a playoff team and that pick would have gave them more leverage for a trade and they might have been able to trade for a player and move down a few spot's in the draft but they could have still had a 1# pick but a low pick though and edm. would be crazy to trade that pick i live outside of edm. and all you see in the newspapers and tv is hall not sagiun

  • I would be more than happy if the Bruins end up with Seguin... But I hope they push to move up for Hall... To be honest, Seguin would fit the Oilers current and future needs better, regardless of all the hype revolving around Hall. They are equally gifted individuals with a different style of play. You have to remember all the talent Hall played with on the spitfires and who Seguin had to help him (hardly anyone).

  • hopefully he ends up on the wings

  • @metallicaman1000 um... The wings? They're not even in discussion when it comes to Hall or Seguin!!

  • The oil will pick hall considering Hall would have won ohl player of the year if he played those 5 games he missed

  • Hall will be an oiler casue of the fact that he's proven himself with a lot of pressure

    And he can play center

  • the guy the oilers pick is gonna suck... other will be amazing.

oilers can never do anything right,

    ashamed to be. edmontonion

  • @shizaaaaam

Are you kidding me have you seen the people they have drafted late in the first round Eberle and Mps get your shit right

  • Comment removed

  • Seguin deserves all the props he is getting but Hall has played and kicked it up a notch at many higher levels Hall showed at the Mem Cup why is going # 1

  • he does look like Michael Jackson a tad.

  • bruins want hall

  • the bruins need seguin.

  • the bruins have like three american players on their roster so what the fuck are you talking about?

  • How old is he?

  • gonna be a BRUIN

  • @FriendlyWalrus Yep, most likely this will be our guy.

  • @FriendlyWalrus and now maybe the bruins won't choke cough cough GO FLYERS!

  • imagine down the middle savard, bergeron, krejci, seguin but there probably gonna trade one of them

  • @FriendlyWalrus dont say that!!! i want him to stay in CANADA!!! OILERS all the way♥

  • @FriendlyWalrus yeahhh!!!!!!!!!!

  • @FriendlyWalrus I wonder how you new that.Maybe because he got drafted by the bruins before you posted the comment 1 year a go.

  • @kfctastegud

nope posted that comment almost two years ago. suck it bitch. suck it dry.

  • Bruins and Bruins fans don't deserve Seguin or Hall for tha matter. There american and don't like Canadians or Canadian hockey Players. Your Org. should just draft Nick Bjustad or Etem Emerson, there americans that are eligible for this up coming draft, there not quite as good as the canadians but there americans so Boston should just draft them and leave the canadians for canadian teams. Bunch of Xenophobes.

  • @evanderlazer Wow... What an Ignorant statement... Bruins fans don't like Canadiens?! Absurd. Bruins fans hate "The Canadians" as in the Habs due to the fierce rivalry (If you know anything about hockey) but we love our Canadian players all the same as American or European players! So long as they dawn the black and gold banner around their shoulders, they're cool with us.

  • i would take 1.HALL 2.SEGUIN 3. FOWLER

  • when i watch seguin he doesnt stand out he looks like an average player

  • @TheHagbag67 your probably the type of casual fan who would take paul stastny over maxim afinogenov, you would make a terrible, terrible GM for a an NHL franchise, worst then Mike Milbury.

  • @evanderlazer uhhh you know backstrom plays on a line with ovechkin right? its one of the few cases where the scorring winger is more of a help to the "playmaking" center then the center is to the winger. Backstrom would get fourty assists a year on most lines. 50 if he was lucky

  • @link0zelda123 I agree Backstroms stats are highly inflated, having the NHL's number 1 pp, the best goal scorer in 20 years, the best offensive d-man and a very good wingman will do that to your stats. But I think Backstrom would still be good for 25 goals, 50 assists, 1st line stats to me.

  • @TheHagbag67 I meant Afinogenov over Stastny because hes more flashier and noticeBLE, Your also probably the type who would take akex semin over nicklas backstrom. Flash doesnt mean better you know.

  • Seguin is a year younger then hall and scouts saying he has more upside then hall

  • @Jubs10 He is only 3 months younger

  • @Jubs10 actually their just a couple months apart

  • @Dpesh7 hockey development wise ie when his birthday is, hes a year behind hall

  • @Jubs10 actually its not a year, its more like 2 months and 2 weeks. Either wa Seguin is not a winner like Hall. they have there postives and negatives. Windsore roles 4 lines that get equal amount of playing time. Seguin plays about 5 more minutes than Hall on the ice and is playing the full 2 minute powerplay.

  • @Jubs10 he's only a couple months younger

  • @Jubs10 upside? I don't see how considering taylor hall has won 2 mem cups and the mvp of the mem cup award twice. Also Hall had a good wjc whereas seguin didn't even make the team. Also hall can play centre and wing.

  • @Kipperluongo 2 memorial cups, yes... WJC, yup... But Hall did not make the team his first attempt either... You guys seem to forget that Seguin is a full "hockey" year behind Hall... And that makes a world of difference at their ages concerning development. Allot of Oiler fans also seem to forget the two teams these guys played for in the OHL... Seguin had no where near the talent around him that Hall did... That needs to be taken into consideration.

  • @Bruinology

I agree with you about seguin but the final decision is up to tambellini and the scouts

Who ever they pick will be a star

im exited to see who the oilers pick

  • @kenmilly1 There is no doubt in my mind that both Seguin and Hall will develop into stars in the NHL... Obviously nothing is for sure, but these two have that "special" presence when on the ice. Not sure how to explain it, but its a certain poise. Both the Bruins and the Oilers should be happy with either one. Btw, I am a big time Bruins fan, but I love the Oilers logo. Classic.

  • @Bruinology as long as you dont like calgary youre cool

Man the sutters completely fucked up that team

  • @Bruinology If you were the Boston GM, would you accept Evander Kane straight up for the 2nd pick? Seguins reakout season is virtually identical to that of Kane's season last year, solid sophomore season, than put up absolutely amazing numbers his draft year, 48 goals, 48 assists. The scary thing is Kane is still 18 years old after that season and his season in the NHL.

  • @evanderlazer It would be worth consideration. Kane is a great player. However, it would be trading away a center for a center... More specifically; a right shot center (Seguin) for a left shot center.. In that regard alone, I would prefer Seguin personally. Their junior numbers are similar, and Kane has a gritty style that I love... He also is well known to Boston fans for knocking out Cooke (that was awsome)! I think Boston would prefer to swap picks with the Oilers to grab Hall.. We will see.

  • @Bruinology Kane played wing his first year! Oops. But, was center in OHL. My bad. If Seguin falls to the Bruins, then I can see a similar situation (Seguin on the wing).

  • @Jubs10 Not really. Seguin was born January 31, 1992 and Hall was born November 14, 1991. The difference is only about 2 and a half months. Hall has had the advantage of being born in the late year and having that extra year of experience than Seguin.

  • i was at the plymouth windsor game last night and the windsor fans kept talking shit about hall....now hall is an absolutely amazing player but look what he was around him....that whole damn team is stacked and look at plymouth if you take seguin off that team they are prolly in the cellar now no disrespect to McRea or Jenks but the team goes as seguin goes....he goes pointless in the first two games of the series as a result plymouth is down 2-0.

  • Toronto could have drafted tyler and there would be a point to go for the games. Burke has screwed the team and torontos future for 2 years

  • Seguin and Hall both finished the OHL season this year with 106 points each, sharing the scoring title.

Seguin controls the play, was chosen as the smartest player in the OHL, best playmaker in the OHL in a coaches poll last week.

Excelleration goes to Hall, 1st few steps, nobody matches Hall. But at top speed, they are in a dead heat even. Goal scoring instincts go to Hall, but the better slapshot goes to Seguin, Defensively they are about even, both are very, its like 2 1st overalls in 1

  • Unlike the previous two seasons, when Tampa Bay's Steven Stamkos and New York Islanders' John Tavares were unanimous choices at the top in 2008 and '09, respectively, it wasn't that easy this year.

  • The scouts assembled at the Conn Smythe Board Room here in the NHL offices at Air Canada Centre were energetic and in top form on the opening day of discussion and debate. They hit on the pros and cons of the top players from each of the leagues around North America while Director of Central Scouting E.J. McGuire presided as mediator.

McGuire set the tone early Sunday morning when he announced that the argument for Hall or Seguin would "probably rage all afternoon."

  • dont forget the lottery

  • I get where people defend Seguin. Although he is what the oilers need I still think Sam gagne will develope into a solid centerman. Hall is what the oilers have lacked and that is a shoot first player. Also hall has cosistantly scored in the "O". Either would be good to get.

  • as a Bruins fan i would rather have Seggy anyway Hall is an ugly fuck

  • the battle for 1st overall is just something made up by the media.. anyone who has watched both these players knows that Hall is by far the better and more consistent player. The same thing happened last year - the media debated who would go first overall for ages yet everyone knew it was going to be Tavares

  • Depends when it comes to consistency, Hall has the benefit of playing with great linemates, so he has more opportunities to pick up points and have more space. If Seguin isn't at the top of his game, he can't count on his teammates for helping him.

  • That's true, but you also have to take into account of the ice-time that Seguin gets. Almost every time Plymouth can score, Seguin is on the ice, whereas Windsor has the luxury of other talented players, and not have to play Hall as much. But his linemates could be a huge reason why he is doing so good, just like how Seguin's ice-time can be a huge reason also.

  • I have thought about this for quite a bit and to me I kept on trying to pin just who a great comparison would be for Seguin.

Pavel Datsyuk is the perfect comparison, elusive speed, sick, soft hands, same heads up play making, can make some of the best back hand saucer passes you'll ever see and a rocket one timer like Stamkos.

Yup Dastyuk is the perfect comparison, same skating style, semi-henched over, conservative yet explosive style much the same like Pavel. Should go 1st overall IMO...

  • Bruins will draft Tyler Seguin in June!!!

  • Bruins will draft him in june 2010

  • He will be draft by the Bruins!! ( the pick is from the Maple Leafs when the Bruins trade Phil Kessel )

  • OMG hes so hott.

  • i think the oil will pick hall, so he can play with hemer.

However we need faceoff ability, seguin hasnt been as consistent as hall

  • nop they will draft hall they want him to play with eberle... btw the next first line of edmonton will be

    hall eberle magnus svenson

u guys have kinda a good line

  • There is a difference between Hall and Seguin, however the difference is minimal. It would come down to what your team needed more, a center or LWer? For my Oilers, I think that LWer is what we need for Hemsky, but I wouldn't mind Seguin and Gagner down the middle. Either way, they are both projected to be impact players.

  • Either will be good for oilers. Ill say this about hall he did score 40+ goals as a rookie on a bad spits team.

  • Agreed. As a B's fan I want Hall, but with Edmonton continuing to lose nearly every night he's gunna be headed there. But Seguin would be good for my B's too :) Even though I'd want a 35-40 goal scorer over a 25 goal scorer

  • Actually, Hall scored 45 goals on a Windsor team on the rise. They weren't quite as good as there are now, but they had a great team.

  • @EnderSoldier Yeah that is true about Hall BUT he was still a rookie non the less. Hall has also consistantly scored in the OHL where Seguin only had his true breakout year for goal scoring this year. Hall is a LWer that is a shoot first player which we need.

  • Seguin is somewhat of a late bloomer, but the fact of the matter is that Seguin has scored more goals than Hall this year with far less talent on his team. Probably the most interesting stat is that Seguin has almost twice as many even strength goals as Hall does (34-19). Seguin isn't a shoot first player, but he is a potential star centreman, and the Oil doesn't have that . Every team that has won it all had a great centre core, regardless of wingers, but never the other way around.

  • Seguin reminds me of Paul Kariya/Joe Sakic type of player, huge gamebreaking ability, franchise 2 way centerman that any team would be more than happy to build around, not to many players faster than Seguin at top speed, Hall is one of them but just barely. He scores goals as well as he passes. I see a slick 2 way defensive centerman who puts up about 35-40 goals and 55-60 assists when he hits the NHL, particularly when he;s about 22-23, around there.

  • adam oates clone. absolutely identical with more athleticism.

  • Mcguire comparing Hall to Messier was pissing me the fuck off all through the WJC, there is nothing and I mean nothing comparable between the two, not one facet, a better comparison woulkd be Gaborik/Kovalchuk type of talent, size, speed, pure goal scorer who also makes others around him better he is not afraid to throw a big hit 2 or so times a game, 40/50 goal scoring winger, not many of those in the NHL, 5 maybe.

  • Id say more like a Nash then those two, he goes to the net with good speed for his size, forces turnovers and has the ability to put it away...

  • I had a hard time believing that he didn't make Team Canada.

  • Also these so called experts need to keep in mind that Seguin is playing for the Whalers. Hall is playing for the best team in junior hockey. Now guess Messier was at the prospects game and was going ga ga over Hall though. Sucks that there isn't a true number one over all this year. No clear cut one. I say make it easy and aquire both top picks and get them both LOL.

  • Seguin is going to suprise everyone. A lot of people are going ga ga over Hall but this kid is leading the OHL in points and doubling the next player on his team in points. Either of Hall or Seguin would be good for us.

  • i personally gotta say Hall would be the better choice cause of the Chemistry between him and Eberle

  • @oilersrule78

he was a surprise even in elementary school. i went to elementary school with this motherfucking beast and he just made the other kids look like NOTHING. we always knew he was gonna go far with this

  • @oilersrule78 Its a really tough choice Seguin is on a much weaker team and doing better than Hall in the points race. But when they evaluated there skills Hall must have been just a little better to make the junior team over him. Why did they put Kadri on over Seguin. Kadri was like a Shawn Horcoff on that team. He couldn't one time a puck at all.

  • you know what its pretty foolish to say that Hall is better than Seguin just because he made the WJC squad over Seguin, Matt Duchene didn't make it last year, and now he's the leading rookie goal scorer and point scorer in the NHL this year, Eric Staal never made it either, but still became a dominant player in the NHL, stanley cup winner, 100 pts etc... Seguin never made it because the Team Canada staff wanted to take the spitfire trio of Henrique-Hall-Nemisz which was big mistake that cost us.

  • 1st overall material!!

  • Its a damn shame this countries best talent keeps going to american franchises, it really pisses me the fuck off, Hurricanes don't deserve a player like Hall or Seguin, Seguin deserves to play with this countries canadian teams like the leafs or oilers or even the flames, fucking pathetic tanking moochers.

  • If it weren't for American cities happily taking in your Canadian players and giving them disgusting loads of money, they'd be flipping burgers at the local diner. Be appreciative. Last time the Canes won the Cup? 2006. Last time the Canadian teams won the Cup? 1993. Hmm...

  • @ZoMgxitsxme holy fuck are you that narrow mindded and stupid? hmm cam ward? eric staal, brind'amour, whitney, recchi are all canadian, canadian MVP, Tampa bay in 04? richards was MVP, lecavalier, st.louis andreychuk, stillman etc.. in 2007, nidermayer was MVP, pronger, getzlaf, perry, beachemin etc..

Crosby, Fleury, Staal, Talbot, letang all canadian

the majority of stanley cup winners are canadian filled and MVP winners, Canada would gladly take any of them and pay them there millions bitch

  • @ZoMgxitsxme every single cup winning team since 1993 have had atleast 15 canadians or more, 14 of the last 15 cup winners were captains and from Canada, 11 of the last 14 Conn Smythe Winners canadian

you also should be informed that Toronto is the richest team in the NHL along with Montreal, the 6 canadian teams out of a 30 team league, make up 33% of the leagues revenue and money, in may cases are canadian teams have to share are profits with struggling us markets through revenue sharing fukr

  • @ZoMgxitsxme If anything, your the misinformed idiot here, its because Canadas teams are so rich that we revenue share with the struggling franchises like the Panthers, Coyotes, Lightning, Predators, Kings, Blues, meanwhile these are also the teams that tank every year for top picks in the draft which are usually are countries top stars, its not fucking fair that our teams have to put u.s. teams on life support while they mooch our top players, you fucking misinformed cunt think before you talk

  • @evanderlazer Let's read into my comment, in which I said that AMERICAN FRANCHISES have won the Stanley Cup. I have nothing against Canadian players. In fact, they're quite good. What I'm saying is that you are the misinformed one who thinks that hockey should only be played in Canada. If your Canadian franchises are so rich, why can't you put together a decent team to win the Cup, other than the cap? And don't call me a cunt or a bitch. That's ridiculous that you have to resort to profanity.

  • @ZoMgxitsxme because we dont take pride in fucking tanking like incompetent bitches and take the easy way out and tank for high draft picks, all our teams try to be as competative as possible without tanking for superstars.

every single canadian team has to try and atleast be competative and make the playoffs, the often dont sometimes because they dont quite have the star power to do so and the reason we dont have the star power is because no CANADIAN TEAM INTENTIONALLY TANKS for star players.

  • @evanderlazer You're so freaking stupid. NO ONE intentionally tanks. 30 teams in the NHL and 6 of them are Canadian-based. And so you're saying that Boston, Detroit, New Jersey are intentional tankers? You're funny. I'd understand if you meant that some of the smaller markets do it, but don't generalize all 24 USA-based teams. That's a hefty generalization. I'm done with you. The last thing I need to do is argue with some ignorant Canadian that can't stand Canadian players having a job in the US

  • @ZoMgxitsxme the last thing i need to do is explain why canada could get along quite well with or without american teams you fucking douchebag, you seem to think that our teams could never support and pay our own countries players so seriously just go watch some niggers tackling each other and cars racing around a track 500 boring times you maggot shit motherfucker, quit talking to me now and except that your a piece of low life shit that you are and know you are.

  • @evanderlazer chill bro toronto traded away their #2 to Boston, otherwise both canadian teams would get the top two players. But i do agree that it sucks that all the great homegrown talent keeps on going to other places.

  • @ZoMgxitsxme Let's see: 24 American teams, 6 canadian teams, yeah give us 18 more teams, and i guarantee you guys don't even make it to the finals

  • @evanderlazer easy bud, one of em is coming to edmonton! But yeah i hate when all the crazy canadian players go to american teams that don't even care.

  • looks like another stevie yzerman...how many do we have now? Toews, Stamkos now Seguin. I suppose its just the label for anyone just below Crosby's talent

  • i hope to what ever deity out there carolina drafts this kid and he dose not turn out to be a bust . and wonds up being a true goal scorer like malkin , crosby , and ovie
