My son plays fro Klein Collins, and he was hospitalized last year for a concussion. Coach K called us in the hospital, and told us he was planning to come a see us, but he was a little tiered from Chemo that day. That was just the was he was, he could find a way to lift you up even when he was down. We Love him and we miss him very musch, and we are very grateful to God for him.
...thanks for your story...Coach came up to me at a basketball game...he came down from the bleachers just to say hi...later I found out he had just gone through chemotherapy so I told him he didn't have to do that...he said as long as he was able to...he had to support the school...I meant coming down to say hi to me...but was looking at the bigger picture...I miss him too...
...on Friday...Klein Collins will take to the field for the first time since the passing of Coach Konicki...I wish I could be there to see if the school or the fire department will do something special...

i remember when you were at stafford, you always had this positive energy that spreads to everyone around you. you were there for my freshman year only, but that year was enough for me to see that you were truly a one-of-a-kind coach. not only were you there for your athletes; you were there for everyone, regardless of whether or not they were in athletics. you will be missed dearly by everyone whose lives you've touched, Rest In Peace <3

Kewl, Matt and I went to Eastgate Elm. school in Kennewick WA back in the 70's. Wondered what happened to him after KSTW.
