Nightmare was an amazing album, I'll admit, but it just doesn't compare at all to Waking the Fallen. In fact, nothing ever will. I'm still trying to find an album that can even compare to WTF, and nothing. The songs were all flat out INCREDIBLE (particularly Remenissions which is still my favorite song of all time), the screaming was great, and just everything was perfect. I can't say enough about WTF... it's just so incredible that I don't even need to describe it, really.

Actually they had already written the whole thing before he died, they've just finished the actual recording now. Mike Portnoy basically has just played what jimmy wrote before he died :D so jimmy lives with us through mikes recording xD RIP The Rev :)

@guitaRb0i1 Sick... I loved their dark stuff. It's probably due to the recent loss of Rev. And I'm sure they're gonna put a TON of feeling into this new album, and it's going to be awesome. Let's just hope for more stuff like this... It's a shame that most people never listen to their earlier stuff and just listen to Bat Country and Beast and the Harlot. They're great songs, but pale in comparison to stuff like this.

The new album was so disappointing after all the anticipation and people saying shadows was gonna scream again.  That would have made the album. Metalcore (WTF) is what avenged was best at not this pop rock they have turned out with nightmare.
