Mas esse tipo de coisa não faz sentido em uma apresentação de dança do ventre hj. A intenção que vc quer passar, de mistério, sedução ou coisa assim, se perde. E isso tanto para o público leigo quanto para os que entendem da dança. Esse movimento não faz sentido, não transmite nada. E pelos comentários, seria melhor vc tirar, ou refazer o video, com uma explicação da onde vem esse movimento e pq usa-lo.

isn't dance about being creative and playful? So what's wrong in inventing new things? she might not be the best bellydancer (in fact she is not showing any bellydance moves, just veil handling), but she wants to give us new ideas what to do with a veil.

And by the way, I have seen bellydancers do this several times, and it does look good if done the right way!

I have been doing belly dancing for over 18 years... and I just wish they would remove her videos from the air. Sad to throw the baby out with the bathwater, but for every little thing she teaches (poorly) she probably bamboozles beginners with 99 more.

it is actually traditional- to conceal the identity of the dancer- back in the day, men would have their wives dance seductively for a male audience and this was how they did it- and if he was truely sadistic, when she was done, he would tear the veil away, humiliating her.

like it or not, belly dance is an erotic form of entertianment, and some anonymity and mystery are just that much more exciting to some-

plus it cures the problem of "butterface" some dancers are just f*ing ugly

That is absolutely not true. I don't know where you hear this but traditionnaly, bellydance was done for party and weddings. Not for male audience and absolutely not to seduce them.

And bellydance is not erotic at all. Don't believe what Hollywood show in there movies. Nor what western people think about it. They are wrong and don't know the true essence of this beautiful art form.
