hello, i like this "low key " approach - i see that many guitarist play it "bright" (like for an competiton or an exam.) - thanks for playing it softly.
Somehow your style is entertainig even if it's not classical - it reminds me Anthony Glise - he is classical guitarist, but some funny way you two are similar. Thanks for uploading the whole sonata - I lost the music already about 20 years ago (full of my teacher S. Rak's markings . . .)
thanks. the whole sonata isn't done yet though. two more movements (2 & 4) to go. i worked on 4 for quite a while. just now i realize how i've let it drop. oops. maybe i'll start working on it again. i've never worked on the 2nd movement, as far as i know. it's nice too, though.
Oh yes, sorry, I saw that you had the III movement uploaded and thouht there is the II movement, too which I didn't see for some reason. Then I totally forgot the IV movement, because it was actually 28 years ago when I played the sonata. I remember the chromatics on the II movement (I loved that part), and I remember the cool rhytm on the IV movement. Please, may we hear the whole thing sometimes?
@SingHouse I was his student in Finland, the town called Jyväskylä from 1976-80 and still a few times on summer courses. Mister Rak lived in Finland from 1975-80. I learnes many things which he taught only later - you know that students imitate a lot until they are able to express something of their own. From VegaLeyffinen
I saw you on a link from some one else. You are so good (you Bastard!--err I mean you practice a lot--Ha ha) I will buy your CD! I would like to be the first to buy it. Great playing--(ah' em), as always!
whoa! excellent work here!! a joy to my ears. ") my ear drums are dancing to the sound. you can make that guitar sing! seems to me you're more treblechef than troubleclef...i guess maybe you're trouble for that clef though certainly the clef is not trouble for you! 5*****
I love your work. I've been following it for probably a year. Would you take a listen to my original Mountains of Dark and give me your thoughts? Thanks 'clef!
another low-key tour de force, trebleclef! do you make cd's of your music? It's worth it: your playing brings my blood pressure down & I'll probably live alot longer.
This is superb! The chord structure and interpretation is sublime! I was there ..... in Mexico! This captures the mind and allows you to travel with the musician to a distant land. Fluid, delicate, full of passion and all beautifully combined to deliver another excellent piece of music. Guitar playing at it's very best! 5*

@jacquillo
thanks. yeah, i do play it more low key than i've heard others do it.
I do like composers (like him) that use conventional harmony in a somewhat unconventional manner, if that makes any sense. cheers.

Manuel Ponce wrote some of the best modern guitar pieces (relatively speaking), and they even sound good, especially when you play them!
