I have one of the original Samsung Focus 1.3 And found a PHS300 a few months back for $20. This will work until I figure out if and how I can enable wireless tethering from my phone directly.

I'm sorry, that's an ATT thing I suppose (unknown in Europe, where I am). I was just saying that Zune enables tethering over a USB cable between the WP7 mobile device and the PC that runs Zune.

By the way: I'm now trying another procedure which is explained by WindowsPhoneHacker, here on YouTube - the title of the video is 'How to easily enable WiFi Sharing on your Samsung Windows Phone' (Youtube won't allow hyperlinks in comments, don't ask me why)

You may also choose USB tethering (third option), which needs a cable connection and requires Zune software on the computer.

@reekum1 took your advise now I need more.. so where on pc do i connect, only place I can find it it asks for a PIN, then other place says it found network but no dirver enter user name and password.. tried the CINGULAR and it didn't work for the pin

so you NEED the cradlepoint to turn the phone into a hotspot?

thank you, looks great. now the next step would be wireless tethering, directly via the phone's WLAN, without cradlepoint... is there any hope for this?
