Actually there was quite a bit of red tape between Freezepop and Sprite. The talk began years before producing the song, and the song was actually never meant for public consumption. Originally the song was meant to signify breaks in the Sprite working hours (coffee breaks, lunch, end of the day). There had been an uproar from the workers after the break signifying song had been the 1960's version for well over 40 years. Free melonballs were served to the factory workers the day of the change.
