I would, but it's such a indecisive decision. What if the hippo doesn't want you? What if it's sadder with you? It's kinda hard to communicate with a hippo or any animals. Also, they have to be separated from their parents.

@AllSaintsAngel Keep in mind that Jessica is an unusually tamable hippopotamus, that was tamed by professionals.

Hippopotamus naturally see humans as food, and they are absolutely physically able of killing a human with ease. One offensive bite and you're dead.

So it would definitely not be a good idea to have a hippopotamus as a pet, and i'm sure it's illegal in all states of the world.
