@rrawrrx3 im a keeper and when playing indoor hockey you cant just stand in your goal becase when the shoot you will not be able to react that fast most of the time, so if you come out and try and slide them or delay them then you will have a better chance then just staying in goal :D
it gives the attacker less room to shot. forces them to shoot around the gk. doesnt always work but if you know how to then itz beast

why does the goalie come out?..not smart the net is wayy to big ..and theres a nice deflection in there some where
