  • what a bitch blatent elbow i wish todays rules were in play he would get 20+ game suspension for that monsters like conroy should not play in nhl he is not a class act

  • @flashplayaman Are you kidding me? if this was ringette yeah I understand the call, but he basically grazed luongo, seriously let the guys play, focus on guys getting blindsided and all of these hits to the head. not garbage like this, if the ref that made this call was my brother I would still call it a stupid call, because that's exactly what it was, either way i'm happy jets just scored in ot as I was typing this haha.

  • Good call for the refs. There was no reason for Conroy to enter the crease. Making contact with the goalie was just plain stupid on his part. It doesn't have to be a hard hit. The rule is, if you enter the crease without the puck and touch the goalie, its interference.

  • @BrindleChase you are stupid man that is a bull shit call that should not have been made, he was driving hard to the net then at the last second he pulled up and just brushed the arm of luongo that is a shit call so stop trying to defend the ref.

  • Im a canucks fan and that is total bull shit

  • Im suprised Roberta's helmet didn't fall off there

  • @GoPensGo377 haha remember that time calgery was in the playoffs? like, 2 years ago or something

  • ok im a BIG canucks fan but thats the stupidest call ever

  • Calgary flames blow dick

  • im a HUGE canucks fanboy, but seriously, this call was bullshit

  • @steelmesh your point? japanese people do some fucky things. u might aswell have said "in the amazon river there are fresh water dolphins that are colored pink."

  • Well, if the puck had gone it, it should be no goal, but still no penalty. That is a weak call and all, but I'm glad it happened because I like seeing Craig Conroy's funny emotions.

  • He hit his arm, I'm not sure if it should have been a penalty, maybe just have a word with the player.

Also, the refs are human, therefore getting it right 100% of the time is impossible.

  • u guys are all fuckin idiots refs are human beings and its a fact that all humans make mistakes id like to see any of u guys go out there and do even close to as good a job as them ud be fuckin shitting bricks.

  • @boringproductions100 Japanese refs who make mistakes take it upon themselves to commit suicide.

  • I'm a true Canucks fan, and I hate the Flame's, but that was a very bad call.

  • yo this is a close call it aint bad nor good, it's 50-50 if your teams goalie if got snowed you guys complain. i would make the call, luongo moved a slight bit making it more harder for him to make a save if needed. i reffed only 3 games but this looks like a good call to me.. the rule states: that no player can come into contact with the goalie of the opposing team unless unintended to hit him. (pushing into him or slipping don't get called but skating into the crease and making contact does

  • @MrDemonHunta, did you see Thomas's dive in game 1?

  • The goalie gets 56 square feet of a 17000 square foot rink and if an opposing player comes in and makes contact with him, it's goaltender interference. Pretty cut and dry to me.

  • Comment removed

  • So, the league put an additional linesman on the ice and the number of bad calls goes up. Go figure.

  • @bearmare this is not a bad call, so if they score and that little hit caused it to be a goal. would you want the 2 min and all the energy sucked out of your team? or let one team hit the goalie and say oh i never seen it. it's their job. if you dont want to be called for it stay out of the crease

  • @lilkyle027 Too fucking bad. He stepped into the crease and got behind the goalie. It's interference. He took away the crease space. If there was a goal, it should be called back.

  • @bearmare yo thats what i said it would be no goal i reffed 3 mjhl games, 1 Chl game and a bunch out rec i know what i am saying

  • yea im not even a fan of one of these teams, but that was one of the shittiest calls haha

  • Lol, to the poster, you are pathetic, hope your flames are having fun golfing

  • im a goalie and i obviously love to draw penalties but thats bullshit hahaha

  • It's only because it is Luongo that the penalty got called. If it was any other goalie in the NHL then that would not have been a penalty. Luongo cries about way to much.

  • lol this was uploaded

  • WHERE ARE THE FLAMES? GOLFING WITH THE OILER? NO .... sorry nevermind the oilers are to good for them

    VANCOUVER ALL THE WAY

  • flyers fan and i hate luongo for being a great goalie but this was a down right inexcusable call. stupid, nothing else.

  • Holmstrom get penalties called on him for blocking the goalie's sight lines.

  • plain and simple player cannot make contact with goalie in crease or it is goalie interferece

  • I wanna know how this is a penalty.....but yet byfuglien just blatantly knocking luongo over in the playoffs time after time is just nothing.

  • sami salo pushed craig conroy into luongo so salo should get a penalty

  • That was weak.

  • If you look at 0:11 you can see he did hit Luongo. So I don't get why everyone says he didn't hit him.

  • @totallyfunny08 he got pushed into luongo though

  • I like the canucks, and I like luongo too....but he is either way over exagerating when he gets hit/slightly hurt, or he is a wimp who cant take a hit.

  • That was a penalty you idiot. You can't skate directly into the goalie's crease and expect not to get a penalty.

  • you guys are just mad the canucks are first place in the league

  • God the Canucks must get everything. i was watching the hawks game a couple weeks ago when they played the canucks and they got nothing, i cant even tell ppl how many hight sticks, trips, hooks they did to us, but the worst was the penalties tht shouldve been called ended up being goals, like i forgot who it was but a d-man from the canucks scored but shot the puck well passed the blue line. Canucks suck, Lu's a pussy

  • they need to crack down on guys standing in the blue paint, especially before the puck is anywhere near the crease. maybe make the crease bigger, the officials have to protect the goalies better, obviously this wasn't actually interference but they have to make a clear cut rule on the crease.

  • Salo pushed him in

  • haha flames are so terrible!

  • oh oops sami salo pushed craig conroy to luongo

  • @jevich66 might want to put on some glasses next time you watch. He barely touches his elbow and only because Luongo threw it out at him.

  • @HOOT403 your an idiot the guy comes flying into the crease, interference for sure

  • @HOOT403 He didn't only hit his elbow if you actual look he hits his whole arm and shoves him a bit.

and the rule states any contact with the goalie when he is in his "space" is goaltender interference

  • @HOOT403 agreed

  • @HOOT403 He also contacted his leg. Conroy was in the very middle of the crease, he has no business skating there, he was hoping to sneakily contact Luongo's leg to get him off balance and leave the crease, before a shot on goal, that never came.

Turns out in that play, the nudge did not give the flames an advantage, but it could have. Conroy skated to the middle of the crease for that reason, he got caught, no point whining about it.

  • @HOOT403 hes probably canadian so hes probably a pu.. reall nice guy, eh?

  • @HOOT403 barely brushed him? conroy almost fell over... i'm not saying he did it on purpose. looks like louie put his elbow into it. but if your going in his crease you better be ready.

  • @HOOT403 at the same time the goalie has to protect his crease and i would get so fucking annoyed with people running me all the time. What happened to the good old days where if you entered the crease you'd get a good hack thrown your way.

  • @HOOT403 if the canucks defender didnt pushin him out, he was going right into luongo.... whats up with all these flames fans? did you not watch this game? cus i know it was a long time ago but i remember the players bumping the goalies all night, so of course the refs guna wana set an example

  • @jevich66 Dude the defence man pushed him also.

  • @XxInMySanexX no he didnt u blind men get some glasses

  • @jevich66 Look at the movement of the defences stick

  • @jevich66 aint that calgory flames?

  • @rasmus0koll u kidding me??

  • @jevich66 Thanks for mentioning your a Canuck fan, I can now understand the rest of your comment comes from someone who has watched, at most, 5 NHL games in his life.

  • @jevich66 how was that a good call he knudged him

  • @jevich66 great way to start your agrument. "I'm a canucks fan..." lmfao

but ya it is still a penalty, rule states that if the other team comes in any contact with the goaltender in a pushing or shoving motion, even accidental, it is goaltender interference.

  • @Perrotti9368 he got pushed so thats a crappy call by refs

  • @jevich66 Please refer to NHL Rule 69, Table 18, situation 1B.

  • @jevich66 he got pushed into luongo by someone else bad call by refs

  • @jevich66 You can accidentally touch a goalie. It just depends how and if it causes a goal.

  • @jevich66 can't figure out annoucers comment can you ? anyhow it was clearly interference. If the ref lets it go and calgary scores 2 seconds later it would've looked very bad.

  • @emckane LOL. Maybe thats why you arent even close to a NHL ref. Seriously LOL is all I can say.

  • @emckane LOL. Maybe thats why you arent even close to a NHL ref. Seriously LOL is all I can say.

  • @jevich66 lol retard...

  • @jevich66 You actually can hit the goalie if he leaves the crease and decides to play or skate with the puck just like you see goalies hitting players.... You just don't see it often =P

  • horrible call i thought it was interference if u were to take the goalie out the play luongo didnt even notice him touch him!!!!!!

  • first time ive ever seen conroy mad. what a bullshit call.

  • Yeah same here. I'm a huge nucks fan. (not particularly a Luongo fan though, most overpaid goalie in the history of the NHL, IMO).

Still, there's no way that should have been called.

Open your eyes Bettman!!! You and these moronic refs are ruining the league. I love watching AHL and WHL games because the officiating is sooooooo much more consistent. If this keeps up, I won't be buying season's tickets for NHL games next year. I might not even bother watching it on TV anymore.

  • @Turbo88Supra

Its nice seeing fans who aren't "fanboys". I'm an Avs fan, and I still think our hated division rivals are classier than just about any other team (and fans) who come to The Can

  • @Turbo88Supra lmao now that's funny. Overpaid? You nucks fans aren't ever happy with goalies. They have the best goalie in the league and you think he's overpaid? He could make the maximum 11.4 million and he still wouldn't be overpriced

  • @OilersFan2354

I dunno, I'm perfectly happy with Schneider, I love MacLean back in the mid 90s. I've been happy with lots of goal tenders. I've just never jumped on the Luongo bandwagon, I guess.

I mean, he's an amazing goaltender, but only when he doesn't have to be.

People talk about him winning the gold in the Olympics, I watched that game, Luongo is the reason it went to OT in the first place. If he'd been consistent, the gold would've been Canada's in regulation.

  • @Turbo88Supra Are you serious?.... Did you see schnieder in the one playoff game he played? game six against chicago, the two of 3 goals chicago got we're Clean empty net giveaways from cory schnieder, the first one almost got dan hamhuis injured, we would have taken the series that game if luongo we're playing the whole game, Trust me i'd be the first to say it, When Luongo is gone from vancouver, it's people like you who are gonna just say how good luongo was,

  • luongo didn't even realize it was an opposing player that grazed him or he would have done a triple sow-cow and cartwheeled into the ice while throwing his mask into the corner like he'd been shot in the chest.

  • @AvanderX if you want to see a real diver check out riberio :P BTW that was a brutal call!

  • @AvanderX are you kidding me! you need glasses, that call was horrible!

  • @robbytburns11 you really need to read what people say before you comment back

  • @AvanderX lol yeah sorry about that, i ment to say that to someone else i think

  • @AvanderX

Coming from a Canucks fan, but I LMAO'ed at your post! Its hilarious!

  • @AvanderX da fuck is a triple sow cow

  • @AvanderX luongo threw an elbow... i bet you and the person that posted this video feel really dumb right now, cus if you watch it more than once, that u can see its goaltender interference.. was it a call worth making? probably not, but if u watched that game, it was happening alot so the refs had to show the players that they wont tollerate them interfering with the goalies.. even if its a light bump

  • same here im a nucks fan but he didn't even push luongo or hit him he just touched him so it can't b a penalty man refs need to realize real penaltie's then call it

  • @dyardi he was also nugged into him

  • Salo did not push him into the crease. He pushed past Salo to get into the crease (Salo was basically trying to make sure he didn't crash right into Luongo) and once in the crease, shoved Luongo's left shoulder to throw him off in case of a shot. Very blatant. Very much Goaltender interference. Great call by the ref.

  • fuck you, get in the box conroy you phocen prat

  • must have hurt pretty much.

  • I'm a goalie that's not interference

  • Bumped him in his crease. Impeded motion, easy call.

  • besides he was pushed into the goaltender

    I agree with hoot

  • Ok i can see why the ref called interference but it didnt really get in the way of the goalie i mean he just taped his arm

  • Haha, funny thing is that's 10x more interference then the 3 goalie interferences the Wings got against the Sharks in the first game of the SCF of the playoffs this year.

  • @bishoppx did you see Hossa's goalie interference in Game 6 of the SCF? That call is even worse

  • @Kartracer6 I saw that. It was complete bullshit, who's going to avoid contact in that situation? Not quite as bad as the goalie interference calls against the Wings throughout the Wings vs Sharks series though, because Hossa actually made contact, lol.

  • @bishoppx I'm not sure what interference your talking about I really didn't watch much of that series. I'll try to find it. Who got called for it??

  • @Kartracer6 there was 4-5 different calls.

  • @bishoppx Ah...LOL sorry I heard the reffing was bad that series I just never watched much of it.

  • I ref hockey, thats a bad call. There was no intention to hit the goalie, just brushed up against him.

  • Que? What? That was not goaltender interference.... Wow.

  • hahaha sorry im a nucks fan but that was freaking pathetic

    stupid reffs

  • A player should not contact the goalie in his crease at all. Even if the goalie is outside the crease and a player brushes against him he still gets a penalty. That isn't right.

  • NHL refs are the best hockey refs in my opinion. It's a tough job, but they do it quite well.

  • im a nucks fan, but shit that wasn't even a penalty. fuckin bullshit

  • Wow. He brushed him a luongo didn't even fall down

  • he dodged him but the refs can be stupid and call unnessicary pens for both teams

  • NHL refs are fucking retards.

  • @ScrillaVilla1 Dont forget the AHl too.

  • happens in every sport, people are never happy.

  • refs are fine this shit barely happens.

  • look at holmstrum he doesnt even have to touch the goalie and he gets called for this shit and and how many goals they wouldnt give him because of this shit

  • @vancouvercanucksuck where are you from buddy?

  • I'm a Nucks' fan but, that was a garbage call!

  • i'm a ref and there is no way in hell that this is a penalty.

he barely touched him and in no way impeded his movement or ability to stop the puck.

but, all refs are human, and we make mistakes.

    that's why pencils have erasers

  • Im not a ref, but its not hard to see that Conray actually did punch him with the stick alittle on purpose and you cant do that.

  • Refs are human and make mistakes, I've seen people say refs favorite a certain team and at times the refs will fucking let that team get messed up and not call penalties for it, they dont see the entire thing, plus technically this is interference, but I wouldn't have called it if I were a ref.

  • It's not that the refs are against the Flames, but are in favor of the "big money" teams such as the Canucks, Red Wings, Capitals, Penguins etc.

  • Why are Flames' fans such whiners? Refs occasionally make bad calls. Deal with it.

  • this is goaltender interference whats the problem...

  • this is not that bad of a call seeing as the flame player skated on his own into the crease and made contact with the goalie. PS banging on the glass while in the penalty box is actualy a penalty all by itself so by the rule book this is a double minor.

  • goalie interference is the worst. im a goalie and most of the time its your own teammates fault for pushing them into you. another stupid rule is the cindy crosby rule. where he gets any call he wants.

  • wow.Are these refs even QUALIFIED for being one?it seems like they r completely brainless arses.

  • yeah, you moron, they've worked long and hard to become refs in the NHL, and sometimes they make stupid calls. you're a fucking idiot, I'd like to see you officiate an nhl game.

  • stay the fuck out of the crease

  • All The Refs Are Against Calgary!

  • they are against the wings too i hate that refs give a lot of bull shit calls and let a lot of stuff go. but they do it to a lot of teams also

  • So basically whenever you touch the goalie it's interference.

  • haha I laughed my face off

  • if this was called , why wasnt the chicago goal waved off in the 1st game of this years playoffs in overtime against the flames ?

  • the chicago play was because the puck had already gone in when contact was made plus Ladd was pushed into the goalie. This is if'y It needs a better view I can't tell if he affects the goalie. From this angle it looks as if he purposely runs into him but I can't tell maybe he got pushed

  • what about the wings in game 3 against the ducks?

  • First off, being an on-ice hockey referee is one of the most difficult jobs there is. Second, referees who are skilled enough to make it to the NHL are the best in the world, and train for YEARS to make it to where they are (refereeing is an extremely competitive business)

  • I think the referees are right on this one. The point is that, no matter what, it is a player's responsibility to avoid making any contact with the goaltender, whether the goalie is in his crease or not.

In this case, the collision could have been avoided by braking, or stepping aside.

  • refverhoog, i agree with you...im not positive but i dont believe that it's only considered interfering with the goalie if you knock him over, i would think that even if you intentionally bump into him and bump him off stride it should be a penalty...im sick of people acting like nhl ref's are part of some conspiracy...no im sure it is very hard being on that ice staying out of the way of the game, let alone paying attention to everything happening at the same time.people make mistakes at times

  • bad call especially when there isnt a scoring chance

  • So by this logic it's ok to slash a player when he's not involved in the play?

Come on... think things through before you post...

  • huskerfan711 - haha, very nice respose to "cindycrosby" and also by that person logic they should take interference out of the game cause that entire penalty doesnt occur near the puck...i mean cindy thinks you can ram into the goaly anytime you want as long as theres no scoring chance near...well thats a good way to try and injure some good goalies

  • that was the right call.....there is no way the the vancover player pushed him into the goalie.....if the puck aint in the crease.....dont go in

  • that's a good call. if an opposing player is in the crease while the puck isn't and he makes ANY form of contact with the goaltender, it is goalie interference.

  • that was a terrible call. it's not like he messed him up bad enough to have a flames goal.

  • yeah it wasnt a really bad call.. your suppose to do whatever you can to avoid running into the goalie.. didnt seem like he tried to hard. yes i know it might have been a cross check by vancouver but it's just the rules like it or not.

  • ....i'd say good call by the reff, pucks noware to be seen, and conroy could have easily gotten out of the way, nobody was pushing him (number one overrated team in the NHL: Flamers)

  • open ur eyes dude do you not see the other guy clearly push him with the stick and push him in the direction of the goalie if anything it should be cross checking on Vancover Blown Call.

  • that was goalie interference. the rule book says "if you touch a goalie in has crease with any part of your body its considered goalie interference."

  • but the puck has to be out of the crease... if u touch the goalie while the puck is in the crease. its no penalty =)

  • uhhh... he bumped him... keep it in your pants.

  • @screwlstew he was pushed
