I have some pedals and want to record it into a computer. How can I connect my guitar to my pedal and then the pedal to my computer? I tried using the microphone jack and an adaptor, but it gives terrible sound quality.

The recording software is Pro Tools, but there are many applications you can use, including Logic, Cubase, Reaper and others. GTR Solo is used to make the recorded guitar sound better.

You need to buy a 1/4 male end to 1/8 female end stereo adapter.

You also need a 1/8 to 1/8 cable( both male ends).

you plug the 1/4 into your guitar, then one end of the cable into the adapter then into the computer. Both can be bought for about 5$ each

Use "Kristal Audio Engine". Select "LiveIN" in "Audio Input" and you can play with effects without recording. Search for manuals in Google. Also you can record with Kristal. And it's freeware.

There are several ways to plug your guitar to the computer:

1. A guitar cable into your audio interface's DI input.

2. Waves/PRS box into your audio interface's line in. Usually sounds best.

3. No external audio interface? A 1/4" male to 1/8" male cable. plug into the little 'line in' jack on your computer. Won't sound as good.

4. One of the many guitar to USB guitar interfaces out there.
