I've never seen tipis with rope holding the front of the flaps before. It looks awkward. The tipis we make over in northern Alberta have smaller vent flaps so dont need to be tied up.

@joygrant27 sounds like u never been in a real tipi. the smoke flaps are better long for rain and snow and u can rap the smoke hole if u want...
