2) I still would watch Star Wars (I'll watch the prequels again than seeing Twilight), but in 3D? Why? There's not much depth and pop-out-of-screen effects that would do justice. Even if 4, 5 and 6 would came out in 2015-17, it'll be the updated versions that were on the Blu-rays.

The 3D was almost non-existent but seeing a Star Wars movie on the big screen is unlike anything else on Earth. Take my advice: Go see it. It may not be the best movie out there, but it's a million times better than anything else that's playing. And you might be pleasantly surprised at how much fun you'll have, even if you didn't like it the first time :)

I always relish the chance to see any SW film on the big screen, but...the 3D was minimal and nothing felt more 3D than the opening scroll, subtitles and the credits.

This was epic! The 3D was ok. When you got the the podracing and stuff it was breathtaking. That and unlike my parents I've never seen a Star Wars movie in theaters before so that right there was something I'll remember for a long time :-)
Watched it last night, was really hard having to put up with jar jar for so fucking long, but the pod race was awesome in 3d, and its always good watching the 3 way fight at the end, plus john williams duel of the fates is epic scoring at its best.
The 3D is pretty non-existent - I could hardly tell the difference between not wearing the glasses and wearing them when i went to see it at the weekend. It was however nice to see Star Wars on the big screen again, and the enhancements were welcome (the CGI Yoda and other bits).
1.What did you expect the movie is 13 years old.You cant make any big 3D effects with it.it never the less still loked great and had some cool 3D effects.

The film is not bad in 3D, I was surprised, wen I saw CGI Yoda from Episode III in this episode, I was used to the live action model of him for this episode, but whatever, the film is awesome, and I believe in the future when the cinemas will be probably holographic they'll rerelease the movies again in holographic action. if you ask me Jake Lloyd didn't do a good job portraying Anakin Skywalker. I think they should have cast Haley Joel Osment as Anakin. He auditioned for the role and was nominated/won god knows how many awards in The Sixth Sense.

I cant believe the movie theretre wasnt full. I wen on friday Opening night at 7:30 showing. I aarived there at 5:30 and waited there for 2 hours in front of the thetre entrance. But the movie only got abouit 1/4 full. MAybe because i live in canada. Wow

I was so excited about seeing this film. I went to the cinema sat down and I started to feel ill. Then I had to go home before the film had even started. I was SO upset. My friend stayed at the cinema, it worked out okay for him but not for me. At least I got a refund and I will be able to go back in a couple of days and see it.

I hope most people recognize that this one is the ACTUAL FIRST one of the entire series. The original Star Wars is the FOURTH one. I'm sorry but the original Star Wars trilogy is cheesy and confusing if it just stands by itself with no connection to the prequals. I thought that even before The Phantom Menace came out. You have to admit the storyline of A New Hope is very corny, if ya don't know what the hell is going on! If ya watch the prequals BEFORE u watch the OT, it makes more sense.

Went to see this with my friend today and thought it was great I never had a chance to go see it when it first came out,only seeing it on DVD and I also thought it was great that the makers converted yoda from a puppet to cgi,as the puppet version wasn't convincing and the 3D effects were great,awesome nostalgic moment :-)

if you ask me Jake Lloyd didn't do a good job portraying Anakin Skywalker. I think they should have cast Haley Joel Osment as Anakin. He auditioned for the role and was nominated/won god knows how many awards in The Sixth Sense.

I cant believe the movie theretre wasnt full. I wen on friday Opening night at 7:30 showing. I aarived there at 5:30 and waited there for 2 hours in front of the thetre entrance. But the movie only got abouit 1/4 full. MAybe because i live in canada. Wow

I love star wars movies, but I think all fans would prefer a new star wars movie and not the conversion of old films in 3D quality, as we saw in phantom menace!

I was so excited about seeing this film. I went to the cinema sat down and I started to feel ill. Then I had to go home before the film had even started. I was SO upset. My friend stayed at the cinema, it worked out okay for him but not for me. At least I got a refund and I will be able to go back in a couple of days and see it.

What makes them great? Honestly? You admit that the stories are crap! So...is it the acting? Nope. Emotional resonance? Nope. Effects/Animation? Yeah, maybe. What made the OT classics is that they had great effects, great music, great story, and great acting! All together! What is any movie without good acting or story, and no emotion, but all it has going for it is the effects and music? I love Star Wars, but not the prequels. I used to be in denial over it but just can't!

It's actually WORSE than real special effects because look now, The Thing from the 1980's has a more believable looking monster and more real looking then the shitty outdated CGI aliens in Phantom Menace. That CGI looks terrible now and is a perfect example of how computer graphics won't last forever and are nothing more than a cheap gimmick to easily make and sell a film.
The "OT" is superior in every single last way, with no bad CGI that is cool for 4 years

@BoxxyFan CGI didnt age well at all, acting was low tier, cheesy dialogue, all new chracters introduced are forgettable, the overall plot is pointless to star wars except for showing anakin's origins and the rest is filler, and each scene when broken down in a review I watched is either embarassingly stupid or contradicts something from episodes 4-6. The movies script is a rush piece of shit. Yes, tell your friends they are scum, the CG wasn't even updated... at all... it's an unimpressive turd

I hope most people recognize that this one is the ACTUAL FIRST one of the entire series. The original Star Wars is the FOURTH one. I'm sorry but the original Star Wars trilogy is cheesy and confusing if it just stands by itself with no connection to the prequals. I thought that even before The Phantom Menace came out. You have to admit the storyline of A New Hope is very corny, if ya don't know what the hell is going on! If ya watch the prequals BEFORE u watch the OT, it makes more sense.

Went to see this with my friend today and thought it was great I never had a chance to go see it when it first came out,only seeing it on DVD and I also thought it was great that the makers converted yoda from a puppet to cgi,as the puppet version wasn't convincing and the 3D effects were great,awesome nostalgic moment :-)
