US is held back from responding in Syria due to reasons such as support for Syria from Iran, Russia, China and also because Syria maynot make much economic sense in terms of oil. Also that US coffers are now gettting dried up with decade long war on terror and operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Even in Libya US took a relative back seat and was mostly funded by the Arab wealth from UAE and Qatar.
The answer is clear and simple; if you care to see it. Ghadafi has made himself a dictator for life and prepared his son to take over after his life and so on. Ghadafi is an illegitimate ruler throughout his reign of power. He came to power by overthrowing king Sanosi by military force. Ghadafi and similarly his strong supporter Bashar Al Assad try to cling to power as long as the people let them continue their illegitimate rule. Certainly, elections are forged with 99.999999 results.
the question is: " Just as Gadhaffi sent troops to quell armed revolution in his own country....would not Obama also send in troops to quell armed revolution within the United States....wouldn't Obama do just as Gadhaffi has done?"
So why is the West intervening with bombing?
It leads us to believe that this war on Libya is really about the West overtaking the Oil reserves. "The Battle for Libyan Oil Fields- by Bill Woollam". Google that
