I remember being backstage and Sting having to go through several takes of this interview. Stevie Borden was and is a good guy and fantastic wrestler but not a natural mic worker - most of the guys would do it in either one take or improvise slightly but Steve had to stop once he lost his momentum.

No-one ever got angry with him (save Dusty Rhodes until he left) because he was so hard on himself.

Now THIS is the Sting I know and love, the one I grew up with. The "Crow" Sting sucked, period. This was the "wild and crazy" stinger. I've been hoping to see the clip from around 1987 when he bumrushed, splashed, and applied the Scorpion Deathlock to J.J. Dillon...one of my favorite STING moments ever.

This looks like NWA Footage from 1989 when Flair was the World Heavyweight Champion and he and Sting were battling Terry Funk and the Great Muta. Lex was the United States Heavweight Champion. Flair was the Chief Booker for the NWA at that time. Great storylines.

Flair had just beaten Terry Funk, when he got jumped by Gary Hart's stable. Sting came to save Flair, only to get blindsided by a Lex chairshot. This caused Flair to snap and he literally jumped on Luger, until Muta nailed him with a chairshot.

Luger said 'one clean swoop' in reference to this setup, which was to culminate in a round robin tourney at the Starrcade PPV(Muta vs. Flair vs. Sting vs. Luger). Luger meant he was going to beat them all in one night.

I always got behind Lex Luger as a "face" in the late 1990's, in WCW as he feuded with NWO. He certainly had the best physique in Professional Wrestling and one of the best signature moves in the "torture rack." "Sting" is grossly overrated and "Lex Luger" is somewhat underrated in terms of being able to get heat.

"Sting" always gave cartoonish, corny, interviews. It is a relief that he didn't enter the WWF because his character was never of the, "WWF attitude." He always appeared to be sexually interested in "Lex Luger," with his constant praise and hype of him.

I'm a wrestling fan and i have a request does anyone have a clip of Luger and Flair's confrontation in the ring several years ago along with Jim Cornette holding the mic.

I know Luger's not a promo guy but he came up with a funny line when he told cornette if he opened his trap one more time he would give him a hell lot of insurance that was hysterical and classic.
