(part 4) the average "sporty" will never understand. Fishing professionally instilled a discipline in me that I have been able to apply to other aspects of my life and for that I am grateful. I have met many commercial fishermen and I have yet to meet one who wanted to fish the oceans out of all fish. Conservation and management is a concern we should all have both commercial and sporty alike, but it will never be achieved through finger pointing and name calling. Thanks allen3200.
(part 3) admirable, hardworking, and dedicated pillars of their communities deserving of respect and not (as Saltwater Sportsman would do) deserving to be regarded as being on the same level as child molesters and criminals for simply delivering the delicious seafood that the PUBLIC puts a demand for. No matter what I do in the future I will always regard the years I fished for a living as the greatest years of my life. The feeling of brotherhood among fellow waterman is something (cont'd)
(part 2) of publications such as saltwater sportsman who constantly breed hatred and contempt for commercial fisherman, calling them "sea rapists" and perpetuating this arrogant attitude that since they own a $150,000 triple outboard center console that they are the only ones that have a right to fish the ocean, and that something that they do for a hobby is more important than those who are simply trying to make a living. I have met many commercial fisherman and found them to be (cont'd)
I worked on a few Middleground Commercial Grouper Boats From Tarpon Springs to Cedar Key Fl . this brings back memories. Never fished around oil derricks, looks like it could be hazardous.anyway great video
@allen3200 I had the benefit a few years ago of becoming a full time charter boat mate in the Outer Banks of North Carolina a few years ago. Although I primarily fished with rod and reels for sport with paying customers, most of the captains I worked for had commercial licences so the divide between commercial and sport among N.C. professional watermen is almost non-existant. Before I worked in that industry, I like so many, bought into the propaganda of the various (cont'd)
@allen3200 Thanx for approving my comments and posting them on your video. I'm actually no longer in the fishing business but you are right Manteo and the rest of the outer banks is a great place. Hope you are doing well and catch a few for me. Thanx again.
I'm casting for a new reality show that is similar to "Deadliest Catch". If you're a commercial fishermen that works in a dangerous/hazardous environment please email me ASAP

Give a conservationist a boat, some hooks and lines, money for bait and diesel and tell him:
make it a living!
In a couple of weeks you could see him homeless, starving and asking money to people walking down the street.
