You have humble Tim Duncan, and arrogant Kobe Bryant. Yet one has gotten an incredible amount of luck and the other has gotten an incredible amount of bad luck. Unfortunately, the one who deserved a lot of luck didn't receive it.
@12iLovEuFc12 Why? They got 4 rings and he has done all he could in this league! Feel bad for a guy who never made it nor won, not Tim or the Spurs! This is what all older teams go through eventually, but why feel bad for a guy with 4 rings?
The only reason L.A won that year, was because N.O. was hot and it took S.A. 7 games to beat this classless and worthless N.O. team. They should have won this in 5 or 6.
@dutchbballer He's not boring too watch? If you know anything about basketball, you would recognize that the talent, the style that Tim Duncan plays was rare.
There's a chance that you will never see another Tim Duncan again in the NBA. A player that dominating the game off of pure fundamentals of the game, and took no credit for any of it. Had little media attention cause he saw himself as a basketball player rather then something more.
Boring you say? He sounds like a one of kind to me.
WTF u guys need to learn how to read i never said he isnt good i think he da best pf to ever play the game but man he is just boring as hell he can be invisible for a game but then you see boxscore and he dropped 25 and 15 just sayin
HM OK well good point but for me its like i appreciate his play i think its cool to watch his fundamental game but its still a little bit boring cuz its not very creative! but ok if you think it is not boring i can understand why
Its not just TD, but David Robinson, Manu and Tony; Bruce bowen and Robert Horry and all those great spurs players around TD never get any credit coz its the media (ESPN) who ignore the spurs just like how the media (CNN, Fox) ignores Ron Paul. The media is no longer about reporting true stories, its become a business where there is no place for ethics.
My favorite story on Tim Duncan's humble career was this:
After winning his second title in beating the Nets in 2003, where he almost had a quadruple-double, made a prime Kenyon Martin look like an idiot, and considered by many as one of the best finals performances of all time, the interviewer asked this:
Interviewer: So, you almost had a quadruple-double. What do you think of that?
Tim: Really? I didn't know that. Cool.
And then he proceeds to the next question. That's class.
even though shawn kemp and karl malone were more exciting pf's, duncan was a big class act and a true hubmle player. he would never join his rivals like kobe to win a title if the spurs were to do poor or join a city with arrogant sports fans. san antonio has the most humble sports fans
Tim Duncan is still great, The spurs now need a new rookie like Tim duncan once was. Tim- Me Duncan would be to the rookie like David Robinson once was to Tim. Diuncan when he was a rookie. I would love to see a relationship like this and another Champtionship before he retires !I just starting watching basketball and if this was to happen again it would make my heart feel good!
@New2010Me They got Splitter, so hopefully he can come in and help Timmy D out. They also have Blair, and he's the future at the PF spot for this team.
people who finbally kno tim duncan and that he is the greatest pf of all time and he could school kobe and lebron who r in their primes right now if he was in his prime
@rthom1124 i really doubt a pf even as good as duncan cud beat out a sf and sg thats an all star in an 1 vs 1 game, especially if theyre kobe and lebron
@tonychoitellem Tim could post up on Kobe or Lebron and just annihilate them there. Besides, he's got a good enough defense to handle either one of them.
@EinsteinTDuncanHHH1 lol, 1 v 1 dont start in the post... im pretty sure kobe or lebron wud steal it from him before he even gets into the paint. and remember, lebron is 260.
@tonychoitellem Yeah, but I mean, I respect them, but I think that Tim Duncan has a great jumpshot, off- the-glass jumpshot, great post moves, he can dunk, and he can play Post and Perimeter Defense.
@EinsteinTDuncanHHH1 of course, i have great respect for duncan too. people say hes not excting at all but i think a lot of people can learn from him.
@ihatewonders well it goes both ways coz lebron and kobe couldn't guard tim duncan or shaq if they posted them up every time. plus shaq and especially duncan have some ball handling skills, he has run the break for the spurs countless times and from 2003-2008 is the focal point of the offense and calls plays from the post.
but yeah basketball ain't one on one. but all im saying td can win over lebron or kobe. plus kobe even said he learned some post moves and the bank shot from timmy.
@rthom1124 Easily. It is weird at how people say Kobe is the best of this era, when it's clear.....it's Timothy Theodore Duncan. A better leader, a better player, a better legend, and a better overall career.
@rthom1124 Kobe? No WAY !!! I agree that Tim is a miraculous player, but beating Kobe is impossible for any player from the NBA nowadays, maybe Jordan or Kareem, but they're past not present, that's why I'm saying nowadays.
@Fglahnable you have a right to your opinion, but i also have a right to my opinion, and my opinion is that you have no right to your opinion. go jerk off to german granny porn.
@JDev82 I would rather not and that comment you just made proves that you have no real idea what you are talking about and you just diss other people so come back when you are a real answer
@Fglahnable Say that when Dirk plays on both ends of the court like TD; Dirk is a great scorer and probably the best clutch shot maker of his generation, but Tim Duncan is the Bill Russel of his generation; TD played stellar defense, not just man-to-man but also help defense whereas Dirk is at best an average help defender.
Hakeem, Kareem, Shaq and Tim Duncan are the only big men to anchor both the offense and defense of their team and at the same time improve their teamates, no wonder Top 10
TIm Duncan and Ray Allen are the two classiest players to ever play in the league.

@dutchbballer I never said, that you said he was bad. Im saying that he isn't boring. A rare player like him is not boring to watch
Think about it. How many players do you know dominate the game with foot work, the bank shot, isn't in the media ever, and has 4 rings cause of it?
Tim Duncan
How many players do you see everyday on tv, dunking, doing crossovers, and saying random motivational quotes for no reason?
Every NBA player does that...Thats boring to me
haha I don't think TD's boring
