That's simply not the case. I read what was sent to these dealers, and handing off the customer lists was part of the agreement. Furthermore, there were dealers that were slated for closure and after some calls were placed, those dealers remained open. Barney Frank did it for a dealership in his district. A simple google search will pull up credible articles about it. She's 100% correct on this.

Bachmann family farm has received $250,000.00 in Federal farm subsidies from 1996-2006. It is also well known that this family took in 23 foster children , my family took in more but I am not using it on a political platform. This is a state and federally supported program, did she accept or not accept the Government's money? Also preferred stock holders(like me) lost there holdings while the union got part of GM in the deal. As far as the constitution is concerned, there is no place that it calls for the government to intercede in ANY private business. Lastly, study a chapert 11 bankruptcy and you will see what should have happened to GM.

This bankruptcy is about not paying their obligations not about their product. GM has the top platforms of any manufacturer in the world ie, Corvette, Silverado, Impala, Camaro etc. By going into bankruptcy protection GM no longer has to honor its contracts, either with the labor unions or its suppliers, but most importantly its franchisees. The bankruptcy is what allowed GM to disregard their franchise agreements and cancel dealers at their whim.

I am sorry but what makes Michele a racist?? Nothing she said here was racist. You can disagree with Obama's policies and not be a racist. I wanted to give Obama a chance but when he decided it was a good idea to fundamentally change America i could not stand by. i am not a racist. She is speaking the truth. I have a friend who owns several car dealerships - several being GM and she told me the very thing Michele is speaking of. Wake up people, this is UN AMERICAN and how you can say anything different is mind boggling. The govt. has NO BUSINESS butting their czars into the private sector. I live in Flint. I get news about GM practically every day.
The explanation of the video given by the person who uploaded it is simply untrue.
GM (the company) terminated the contracts of a large number of dealers in order for it to remain viable as part of the bankruptcy. The government is NOT directly making those decisions.
All the legislators she is complaining about have simply helped dealerships talk to GM. Why? Because GM is making those decisions.

GM terminated the contracts, NOT the US Gov! the US Gov wouldn't be involved in trying to reinstate them, that was a LIE or MISTAKE said by Bachmann, nobody ever did that on the side of the GOV as we now know. What would be the point?
GM makes all decisions, the Gov is only there to support them financially until they are healthy again, wake up people... it's an effort to keep America healthy, nothing more.

too bad that later it was found that over 70% of her comments were incorrect. there were no customer lists required by GM or the GOV and no dealerships were give a 2nd chance by the GOV for example.

That's simply not the case. I read what was sent to these dealers, and handing off the customer lists was part of the agreement. Furthermore, there were dealers that were slated for closure and after some calls were placed, those dealers remained open. Barney Frank did it for a dealership in his district. A simple google search will pull up credible articles about it. She's 100% correct on this.

no, the ACTUAL information is dealerships that went "bankrupt" had to provide (among many other things)... their 'customer lists" to satisfy CREDITORS but at no time did GM nor our Gov request them. here is an example:

probably not, Obama has done an excellent job of getting us back on track so far... the economy is coming back quicker than expected, the markets just finished their best month in 20 years, the banking issue is largely resolved, the auto industry is turning around, on and on... so it looks like the rocky part is well behind us.
