  • This was my first video I saw of you. I must say, you really give clear explanations. I also like the way you have these interactions where you explain more of the subject and give extra tips. Keep up the good work, because you have a new subscriber. ;-)

  • Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial!! You helped me so much to improve my drawings. Thanks :)

  • I LOVE IT! DRAW KADOCHA

  • This guy looks freakin hot even without hair *__*

  • thx a lot ^^ i needed help with my manga hair

  • puffy~ NHHGGG

  • Shit !

  • thanks

  • Quick question. At 1:05 you talk about how the hair bangs should "follow" the orange line...what exactly do you mean? (sorry, new at drawing) Do you mean the curves of the hair should follow the curve of the orange line?

  • @ZeroSilence91 I meant "follow" in the way I used the example where there shouldn't be any open gaps past the orange line and the lines of the hair should generally look like they're ending in an arch pattern... like you got a bunch of chopsticks and you made the middle ones higher?

  • @MangaLessons hello, can you please draw wavy hair with Middle length?

  • what if your character doesnt have bangs?

  • I thought this was so helpful your better than mark crilley not offense mark!!

  • WHY I NO DRAW HEAD PERFECT!?

  • Thaank you Thank you!!!!! Best hair tutorial I've seen on youtube!!!!

  • You gave me AMAZING tips and helped me draw... ALOT! :)

  • The is no real standard for drawing manga hair, the hair like the manga itself is a creative process and creativity has no limits. Nobody can really say what hair can and cannot be in a manga, because its not determined by any rules or a standard.

  • this is helpful to me

  • Hey, Tip for the camera... Don't use a dark pencil, for example you're using a blue one, it's too dark for the paper, so try using a yellow or pink one so you dont blur the camera ;)

  • girth point?

  • Thx of the help!! Your a great teacher

  • wow, you're very thorough, and not to mention the fact that your drawings are like. Pro.

  • I just wanna thank you so much! this helped me a lot with my drawing. now i can finally draw bangs without making them look weird! thank yoou so much :D:D

  • thnx, this is what ive been looking for on whole youtube, could you show how to draw light yagami hair?

  • holy...!! You are my favorite person right now. Thank you for these i have been having trouble expressing my ideas through my final drawings. Rough sketch is about the only thing im good at so this really help :)

  • Went to click the logo. It ran away.

  • The way she says ponytail makes me >.<!!!!!!

  • Very very helpful, thank you very much for taking your time showing how it's done! :-)

  • I'm a beginner and watching your tutorials really motivates me to improve my drawings! :3

  • this is a good tutorial, but not what i was looking for.

  • the contrast colour bursts at 4:01 to 4:09

  • also continuing to discolour at other parts

  • @Seamoondeb sorry about that > _ < the video seemed to be too dark so I tried editing it to make it brighter but then my camera also has auto adjust to lightning... which the combination of both didn't work out well

  • I love the part when you put the cross on the drawing at 1:44

    :)

  • Oh my glob. This was a damn good tutorial! I'm so subscribing 8D

  • What kid of pen are u using?

  • @villex4 mechanical 0.5mm pencil ^^

  • ha ha! this is really educational.. thank you..

  • Ah, so you're Japanese ... Good English, impressive (Y)

  • @Tina29464615 mm actually just residing in Japan right now > 3 >;; for the year I'm from America though.. mm maybe i should change location to US??

  • @MangaLessons Oh, is that so ... Well, I guess you don't have to do that. If you ask me, Japan is better than any other Place (For a Mangaka of course) d(^_^)b

  • @MangaLessons Oh my god! you are so good!! :D

Thx for the help :) Now, i think i can draw a manga x'D

  • @MangaLessons

No move to UK >.> You could be my Sensei :D

  • @MangaLessons Please can you check out my manga videos? I would really appreciate it!

  • @Tina29464615 she's korean not japanese

  • @lovePonii To be honest, I don't even know what I wrote but thanks

  • -3 awesome

  • Haha! Cut ur nails! ^^

  • Love your tutorials!

  • you've improved so much since last year. :)

  • @drummerxkun I hope you do realize that it's a completely different person than last year > 3 >;;;

  • @MangaLessons oh gawd, really? oAo... ehhh. sry its my first time watching the tutorials from this channel xPP

  • This was an incredibly detailed tutorial with so many examples, must have taken while to put together. Many thanks, I've learnt something from this and after watching many YouTube's about Manga, it's happening less and less now. Great video and really well edited!!! Thanks!!!

  • I clicked on the M...Nothing...It just paused

  • @Number1Niya999 ah! I'm so sorry! The link must have gotten broken... it should be fixed now though :)

  • I clicked on the M...Nothing...

  • I totally love your lessons !

  • Thank you very much for investing the time and effort to making this

Your art is cool, but it's a good trait that you're "not happy enough with it yet", that way you'll stay motivated to still improve :) Looking forward to see more!

  • What kind of eraser is that?

  • @coolrightsweet its just an eraser i had laying around my house, i think its from the company "tombou" and i bought it in korea

  • @MangaLessons Alright thank you :)

  • why doesnt zkittyz do this anymore

  • @Ahoskins29 she handed over the channel to me, if you're not happy with my tutorials than you can always visit zkittyz's channel where she is still posting up videos ^^

  • So much thanks, you helped me a lot!

  • Best manga hair tutorial yet. And I've seen them all lol. Great job!!

  • looks like a sad tidus!

  • very good

  • i thnk im in love

  • I haven't visited your channel in a while. You have improved greatly and this tutorial is really helpful, especially how you use that orange line for hair origin.

  • @animemefreak74 haha i'm not the same artist if you haven't noticed yet :D (before zkittyz, now 100puro)

  • How to shade?

  • if yu made a manga i would be TOTALLY WATCH IT!!!! im horrible at drawing but i always like to wathc how the draw manga videos also u r an amzing drawer KEEP IT UP!!!

  • Love ur voice

  • So are you working on a manga?

  • @myassin2009 an no I'm not working on a manga and I dont' really have plans to make one anytime soon ^^;

  • @MangaLessons Is that because you don't think you are good enough? or another reason.

  • @myassin2009 mostly lack of time and motivation I guess. There's no real reason for me to start drawing a manga when I have really no story and drawing a manga takes a heck of a lot of time D: I'm not even happy enough with my art yet anywho

  • AH!!! thats why my bangs on my manga / anime drawings always come out weird! that orange line is really helpful. :)

  • loved the papercuts XD

  • Can u do a tutorial about different angles of a face? Thx

  • @snowypandas101 psychic! i have one planned :D

  • @MangaLessons

Did you ink the picture at the end or with pencil?

  • @snowypandas101 its just pencil haha

  • I love this. I've tried watching marc criley n his videos aren't very easy to follow. Great details too and many examples u made this super easy for me thanks

  • This is very helpful. Thank you. :D

  • I love this !

    Thank you so much !

Can you make a video where you show different hair styles ? ♥

  • One-Hundred and first liker ^.^

Awesome tutorial and actually helped me quite alot !

    Thank you !!

  • not much room for individuality in this toutorial huh? just kind of said "this is the way to do it, don't do it like this"

  • @khugh021 if you felt this way I'm really sorry since I try to stress all the time l that these are general rules and I always encourage experimentation and developing own styles. I feel like most people do feel this way but if you felt otherwise please don't take these tutorials as a "one way" sort of thing.

The hair line and growth point however are basic things that you should try to follow since this is based on real hair patterns etc. But of course you can always try out your own thing!

  • @khugh021 all she said was if you put gaps past your hairline and don't leave room for a forehead its wrong =/

  • Thanks! This really helped me a lot :) I've just subscribed also and I love the way you draw btw!

  • Can you show us how to draw a person holding a sword? thanks! I <3 ur drawings btw!

  • Love! Such an amazing tutorial!!! I love your drawing style sooo much! Cant wait for the next video!!!!!!!

  • The tutorial it's pretty good, but there were some times that the light got to bright and I couldn't see the draw ._.

  • Good tutorial! :)

  • can u do a tutorial on feet and how to draw female and male bodies?

  • I need help drawing hands

  • :D I lovee!! how you explain! like is so clearly n_n THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!

  • i need some help, when i draw at smaller scales everything looks alright, but when i try to replicate it at a larger scale it doesnt look right

So is it recommended to draw things at a larger scale or am i just retarded? lol

  • @GrezSlash things get easily messed up on the larger scale because you can't see the whole picture in relation to what you're drawing. You tend to zoom in and whatever you're drawing and then when you step back you end up going "....ew." So if you're trying out a big project kinda pull youself back and lightly sketch the general size/area you want to draw everything in by holding the pencil farther from the tip with a looser grip. Also try looking at the picture from even farther away to check!

  • @MangaLessons ty :D

soz to bother you again but is it a bad habit to draw whilst the paper in in a slant position ?

And if it is, then are there other bad habits to avoid?

  • @GrezSlash not necessarily, just make sure you're boding don't start warping oddly.. you can draw a line going down the center of the person or something so you always have a guide?

Artist actually move their canvas/paper a lot to get better positions for their hands but always drawing slanted.. I wouldn't really say its a good habit, just have to make sure your drawing is straight from time to time :)

  • I love your tutorials! :D x

  • That was amazing, you draw sooo well!! *O*

  • Can you show to draw all the hair, even the bangs, pulled back into a pony tail?

  • i havw to say just one thing WOW! YOU ARE AWSOME!

  • can u do a tutorial on how to shade? please? thanks :D btw love how u draw O(>W<)O

  • can you do a tutorial on how you draw eyes? (:

  • Woah, you just blew my mind! O.O can you do a tutorial on ears please? I always cover the ears with hair cuz I can't draw them >.< btw I love your handwritting ... me and my friend have a thing about really nice handwritting XP

  • Thx! So your going to upload every Friday?

  • @snowypandas101 I'm going to try to aim for Thursday actually. It's just that I had a bit of technical difficulties so it ended up being a day late;;;

  • can you do a tutortial on profiles?!

  • Wow! I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into these tutorials...these are a lot better than most of those "How to" Books out there...great job!

  • I like the way you went into detail showed me alot of things I was doing wrong, also I like the way you show your steps..THANKS!!!!!

  • You smell nice. I like you.

  • i really like your style ^_^ do you think you could do another hair tutorial for male manga hair? like different styles?

  • you are very good your style is very mainstream I thought you would draw like a shojo manga xD awesome vid keep it up

  • say have u donw your own manga anytime??

  • @pivotmaker102 nope, I don't have my own manga at this point ^^;

  • Wow your a really good at drawing <3

  • I really love your style. This video also seemed better cut than the first one, as I didn't noticed it at all.

In the future, do you think you could go into further detail on hair style, like drawing curls and the such? Much appreciated.

  • plzz do something about the light next time (still really love the video tho :D)

  • @TheLarsxx3 I'm really sorry about the lighting as I think youtube brighted the video a little bit because in my video editor, I definitely didn't see the blindedness I saw in the video here. I'll keep adjusting the camera setting as I got a new camera just a few weeks ago so I'm really truly sorry but please bear with me as I get everything fine tuned and going smoothly!

  • @MangaLessons Haha, it's allright it did still help me a lot and it's fun learning form u cuz i can feel u haveing fun and love what u do :D

  • @MangaLessons I really suck at shading in (clothes, skin, especially hair). Could please do a tutorial on that sometime?

  • LOVE U!!!!!!

  • Could you do a whole how to draw... Bangs? I always end up drawing my bangs the same!! I would really love it if you did, thanks :)

  • awsome tutorial!! i couldn't teach drawing at all because i was self taught, but u put into words the thinking process that i go through when i draw!

  • @ladylidoine really? well I dunno teaching kinda just comes naturally to me? And I was self-taught too :)

  • @MangaLessons yeah, i didnt really use any guidelines when i drew so i couldn't tell you why i draw a line in a certain place or why it's wrong or right, i just do it. but u r able to reveal those things, its cool :D

  • This channel has improved my drawing so much - I can't even describe it! You (both) are excellent teachers, and I have learned more by watching your videos in the last three weeks than I have by reading countless books over the last several years. I think it is a very special thing when people teach others how to do something artistic, and this was a real gift in every sense of the word. Thanks so much for this! :D

  • @Marcotc17 Thank you so much. I feel very flattered and humbled at your words and I really appreciate a comment like this. It's not often enough when I get well thought out and well written messages like this. Thank you for the breath of fresh air and encouraging words. It really is times like these where I feel re-motivated to go out and create these tutorials to help people like you :)

  • Could you do a tutorial on scene hair?

    Or hair that's layered/teased? :33

    Thank jhu ^.^

  • Really Good:DD!

  • I LOVE U

  • please do a tutorial on how you shade the hair like that!

  • great video :D it would be preety cool if u did a tutorial on how to shade hair like you did for this video,it adds a more natural/realistic feel to it :)

  • @animesk8er19 I'll definitely think about doing a tutorial on shading hair ^^

  • I absolutely LOVE the way you teach. Thank you!

  • This, is how a tutorial should be done.

  • EYES TUTORIAL :D

  • Feel free to delete any of my videos, especially if you do a tutorial I already did, because your tutorials are way better than mine!! A lot of my older videos aren't very good...

  • @zkittyz Well unless you request it I don't think I'll delete a tutorial of yours because people may find it helpful to see 2 different ways :) I've watched through them and I don't think they're bad at all!

  • @MangaLessons But I am ashamed!! Haha sorta... I'll go through them and see if any are really embarrassing.

  • @zkittyz it hurts me to see you say that miss bailey :'((((( i agree with what she says that having two different views could be helpful and it is.

  • This is one of the best hair tutorials I've ever seen on youtube.

  • really nice :D

  • i love how u say pony tail

  • I love your drawing style, looks so professional! And great tutorial, you're so good at explaining things clearly :)

  • Really helpful, keep em coming :)

  • Great job with the tutorials so far! Keep them coming! :]

  • Very good tutorial, great tips!
