  • Mater Surrency is my master!!!

  • I realize this is like trying to teach a goat to sing but hear goes. 2pts for a kick to the head (punches to head not allowed) 1pt kick to body. A kick to body which negates opponent block by driving block to body counts as score. "It is better to be thought a fool and remain silent than to speak and remove all doubt." B. Franklin If you try asking questions in a non-confrontational manner you look like a ratoinal human being and not an ill mannered child.

  • For what type of sparring? Not olympic which is 2 pts head unless opponent is knocked down than you get 3 pts. 1 pnt for body again 2 if a knockdown. (kick or punch) no points for blocks. also superiority rule for a tie match unless it's

for 1st place or a championship where it goes to sudden death. minus points for any Kyong yo or gamjeon 1/2 and full pont deductions. anything else?

  • See, you sound smarter already. Please see comment to "uckushtar" for further explination of this particular system. I believe it was initialy developed for use with novices and young children, unfortunately that gives it a scaleability problem when it comes to more advanced adults and black belts.

  • @mastrdanart CHUN DO QUAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow that was so intense... Maybe now they should actually try hitting each other. No wonder everyone laughs when I tell them I do TKD, they get the impression of videos like this...

  • This is one form point sparing where the action stops after each potential point and the judges are polled for their opinion. Personally I think this can get rather tedious and seriously interupt the flow of the match. I prefer Olympic style sparing, where each judge has electronic buttons they press and a computer scores the match. There is much better flow and the matches are more exciting. I'll see what I can do about getting some Olympic style matches to post.

  • Well then both of these martial artists need to work closely on the fundamentals of chung do kwan "the combat way" because their sloppy technique makes this sport tae kwon do. I'm referring to their technique in general not the name of the foundation that they come from.

  • You do realize this is not chung do kwan tae kwon do right??? This is sport tae kwan do. in chung do kwan they put important focus on keeping your hands up by your head as if you were in a real fight. After all chung do kwan means the combat way... they also focus directly on re chambering the kicks which neither of you are doing...

  • This is the Brenda J. Sell Classic. As in Grandmaster Brenda J. Sell who is the wife of Senior Grand Master Edward B. Sell, Founder of the American Chung Do Kwan Association. Both of the Grandmasters were in attendance at this event. This was an exhibition match between Master Instructor J. Surrency (in red) and another black belt whose name I did not write down. Anyone who wishes to question the validity of this video is free to contact one of the individuals listed above.

  • Question here is who is the master I would guess the guy with the mix n match uniform but otherwise u could never tell by his technique he's not much better than the guy in red.

  • The guy in red.
