I work at KFC. It is advertised that we get our chicken fresh from Inghams and Steggles. To be honest, I really dont know where the chicken comes from or how it was handled before we get it.. I just work there and absolutly hate it. I have reacently turned vegetarian because I dont want to eat something that has been slaughtered for our eating pleasure. It's just cruel. This video is so sad and the emotion that Daniel Johns puts into this shows how passionate he is about the animals.

What's with the fuss? They're going to die anyway, so just kill and eat them. Not only that, they're a source of protein. I agree that some farms have deplorable conditions with overcrowding of the chickens and some of those conditions need changing. This will not stop me from buying and cooking chicken. If I had the experience, I'd kill the chicken myself. Sorry folks, but I think this video is making an over-generalization of poultry farms. Not all of them are this way.
Yea, you're right. They are going to die. You are going to die one day too, so someone should just kill you, right? The message is not to never eat chicken again, it's to do something about the horrible conditions KFC put's it's chickens through. All you have to do is not eat KFC, it's really not that hard, there's a million other places that serve chicken, and most of them are a hell of alot healthier. KFC is one of the only chains that has refused to do anything to change these conditions.

Meat is very useful stuff. Meat packs alot of goodness in a small serve. This is called energy density, a concept rarely mentioned in today's media. That is why wholly electric cars will never have the range and utility of wholly petrol cars and why we use RTG's on spacecraft that go to the outer solar system. You would need to eat 2.5kg of mushrooms for the same goodness as 200g of meat.
I am so glad there are people like daniel and organisations that help deal with such things. It is just wrong what goes on and if people like daniel never brought it to my attention i would have been blind to it and still eat meat. Thank you daniel
you can't live your life without affecting others in the one or other way, be it people, animals or plants but you can be considerate of the world around you. we live in such luxury, there is no need to harm, kill and eat animals and therefore there's no excuse for it too.
i understand eating animals has been going on for millions of years, in fact the protein in meat is what caused human brains to expand and evolve over millions of years,eating and killing animals for food is as natural as childbirth, but i think were sophisticated enough to kill animals humanely instead of torturing them.

As much as I agree with you I see what ogel916 may be trying to say. I live in a house with my family who are meat fanatics, partly due to cultural reasons. Where my family are from, the phrase 'vegetarian' is pretty much unheard of. Since we eat as a family at the table eating the same food, me insisting I eat vegetarian would not be easilly accomodated and would probably be met with a fair bit of resistance.
So for now, when I'm outside the house I avoid meat. I also boycott fast food outlets such as KFC. Come September, when I will hopefully go to uni, I'll have more freedom and can stick to a fully vegetarian diet :)
Vegan living in an all meat eating home here. If you're passionate about it, you'll find no problem adjusting yourself to the contrasting conditions. the people I live with don't particularly agree with my decision or understand my lifestyle, but fortunately for me I am the one who puts the food in my mouth, not them. Where there is a will there is a way :)
I'm in the same situation, my family eats meat every day, the italian part of my family doesn't get at all what's being a vegetarian even is about... I just can say that it took me my whole childhood to come to the decision to be a vegetarian though I knew there was something wrong for me the very first time I heard what my food was made of. but after I fully committed to vegetarianism I felt such a relief and I could never imagine to ever eat animals again.

Vegan = A person that eats absolutely no meat products (and also includes yeast products and honey, etc.). They also don't use any animal products in their daily lives. ie: leather, suede, etc.

What's with the fuss? They're going to die anyway, so just kill and eat them. Not only that, they're a source of protein. I agree that some farms have deplorable conditions with overcrowding of the chickens and some of those conditions need changing. This will not stop me from buying and cooking chicken. If I had the experience, I'd kill the chicken myself. Sorry folks, but I think this video is making an over-generalization of poultry farms. Not all of them are this way.

Yea, you're right. They are going to die. You are going to die one day too, so someone should just kill you, right? The message is not to never eat chicken again, it's to do something about the horrible conditions KFC put's it's chickens through. All you have to do is not eat KFC, it's really not that hard, there's a million other places that serve chicken, and most of them are a hell of alot healthier. KFC is one of the only chains that has refused to do anything to change these conditions.

Meat is very useful stuff. Meat packs alot of goodness in a small serve. This is called energy density, a concept rarely mentioned in today's media. That is why wholly electric cars will never have the range and utility of wholly petrol cars and why we use RTG's on spacecraft that go to the outer solar system. You would need to eat 2.5kg of mushrooms for the same goodness as 200g of meat.

see I neither believe in racism towards humans nor animals. to me a chicken isn't more or less valuable than any other animal or human. of course this whole issue isn't only about chickens. it's just a cruel example how hypocritical and deadhearted people can be. I give as much money as I can afford in order to help endangered animals, I don't buy/wear leather or fur, I'm a strict vegetarian, I don't enter any circus or zoo. As much as I agree with you I see what ogel916 may be trying to say. I live in a house with my family who are meat fanatics, partly due to cultural reasons. Where my family are from, the phrase 'vegetarian' is pretty much unheard of. Since we eat as a family at the table eating the same food, me insisting I eat vegetarian would not be easilly accomodated and would probably be met with a fair bit of resistance.

If you're passionate about it, you'll find no problem adjusting yourself to the contrasting conditions. the people I live with don't particularly agree with my decision or understand my lifestyle, but fortunately for me I am the one who puts the food in my mouth, not them. I'm in the same situation, my family eats meat every day, the italian part of my family doesn't get at all what's being a vegetarian even is about... I just can say that it took me my whole childhood to come to the decision to be a vegetarian though I knew there was something wrong for me the very first time I heard what my food was made of. but after I fully committed to vegetarianism I felt such a relief and I could never imagine to ever eat animals again.

I am in agreement with daniel, although so many people are brought up eating meat daily they fail to notice what goes on 'behind the scenes' it is fair to say we continue to eat meat, but the unnessary cruetly does not need to continue. what the fuck? you're not very clever are you? why should someone care more about people than about animals or the other way round? by the way if you ever attended any school - we all are animals. (and it's usual not people like you, who really fight for other people)

they won't accept your opinion. people always thought they are better than other creatures. I wonder for what reason - for destroying the planet? if you guys think intelligence is the thing that puts you above animals this can only mean, that intelligent people would be more worthy than unintelligent ones - man, that'd be bad news for you...

everyone agrees that people shouldn't have to suffer or get killed. when it comes to animals we give them no rights at all and eventhough we torture, kill and eat them, we don't even show respect and empathy for the whole matter. therefore if I HAD to choose I'd go with the animals but I don't have to, so I try to help both equally. by the way fuck you.
