thanks for uploading such great videos! Im trying to teach myself japanese too =] I started in grade 11 and now im about to start my second year of uni but still i only just learnt hiragan and a few katakana at the end of last year ahahahahaha ive been having trouble balancing japanese and my other studies =[ You're videos have inspired me to keep trying my best to reach my goals!!
wow u're a very good example for everyone out there; i'm also self studying japanese, and i guess i'm not doing as bad as i thought..thnx for ur vids and がんばってください!\(^o^)/ lol( not sure if its right though)
How did you learn how to form sentences. Also while watching the films and copying them how did you know what they were saying? Were you just copying them?
No, the thanks goes all to you. I and everybody else really appreciate what you're doing. I'm so thankful that you take the time to show us ways to improve our Japanese, it means a lot to me because I want to one day move to Japan and not just vist live there, so I feel I need to become as fluent as possible and I try almost everything Books, Online sites, Rosetta Stone, and watching Japanese Movies and TV series, so once again Thank you for all the help you've given me (^_^)
as a fellow English person trying to teach myself Japanese i find your videos really inspiration and give me great motivation to keep working on my Japanese a little bit everyday. obviously i know its going to take some time and a lot of work but my goal at the minute is to understand lyrics and dramas with subtitles or lyric sheets. how long did it take you before you could watch an easy Japanese film without subtitles?
It took about 1 and a half - 2 years to be ab;e to comfortably and successfully watch a Japanese film with no subtitles; but everyone is different and it may take less time, or more time for an individual. But the work WILL pay off! <3
@Ryuzaki1311 thanks for the quick reply. i'm even more determined now. i want to be able to speak some of the language as i want to apply for the JET programme. also a quick video suggestion for you: think about maybe doing a video on kanji =D
@loki2504 How did you managed to type モチベ一ション instead of モチベーション? Not that it matters, it almost looks the same, I just don't get it how that can happen. (That's a kanji 1 in there.)
@loki2504 The long bar can be entered with the key that is 2 keys to the right from the '9' key. (Sorry for the confusing description, but I don't know your native keyboard layout. For example that's the 'Ü' key for me.)
With the US layout that's the '-_' key. In the unlikely case you use kana input you also need to press shift. (From what I heard even japanese people use romaji input.)
That's on PC anyway. On mobile I only know OpenWnn(Android) but that has the ー character on its keyboard.
It's funny when people say "Idol"... I think they mean more like "Role model" ne? It creeps me out when people say "you're my idol"...I just imagine them printing pictures and putting them up on their bedroom walls... XD
@DaFawky I do end my sentences with "ne" when I'm speaking English with other foreigners here or people who understand japanese pretty well.. I guess it's just a habit from living in Japan. You don't notice you're doing it sometimes. :P
@armsock Worst people you could compare her to.... She's so different from them!
Grace actually speaks very good japanese while Magi & Becki don't. (well I don't know about them now, but they surely didn't at first) They just became famous because they put on this overly cute/naive act, had foreign faces and looked young.
I don't think Grace wants to be this type of "idol" and become famous just because she's a cute foreigner who makes videos on YT.
Respond to this video... @armsock I wish Grace the best and I hope she is recognized for her actual talents and not just because she's a cute gaijin making videos in japanese on youtube.
And for anyone else if it helps, I kind of relate the Japanese 'r' to how the Spanish say their r's. Just a tap of the tongue on the top of the mouth while forming the r sound... If that helps@.@
You deserve having so many subscribers (and many more! :D). You're a fantastic vlogger, teacher, inspiration, motivational speaker, and just an all-around great person. :) It's a pleasure to see your videos in my subscription box every time you upload vlogs. Keep up the awesome work, dude. Who knows? You'll probably become a YouTube Partner in 2011. Heaven knows you SHOULD be! lol :D Have an excellent New Year! <3
your an inspiraion to everyone attempting to learn japanese by themselves. love et, love you, and hope you have a good year this year. cross your fingers :3

Ryuzaki, you totally deserve all this n.n you've been studying and learning japanese on your own, that's something most of us want to do, but at least I don't have the patience and dedication to do it, and you're only 15!! That's so impressive ... I admire you =n.n= Happy New Year!! Have Lots of Fun! :]

日本人も、最近では、''L''を使うようになってきていますよ。
日本語の''らりるれろ''は、Rを使うよりもLを使った方が発音が近いからです。
それにしても日本語が上手ですね。すばらしい。

@getoutofmyband Hehe I guess!
But here on Youtube people assume it to simply mean role model. Like Ciaela, kyarorin etc are branded as idols. It's strange, right? ww

@getoutofmyband the same when people end things with "ne" or say "kawaii" or call people "bakas" acting weird lol
