I had to laugh at Ricky's long hair. He' been so clean cut and so great for so long he should be everyone's shoo-in for the Hall of Fame. Maybe he figues talent and musical greatness is not enough. Hopefully the long white haired maestro look will get him noticed by the powers that be.

Oh my goodness... Well, in the early days, probably one of the reasons people had these great hair-dos -- and long hair -- is that they probably couldn't afford to get it cut! They weren't making enough money to get it cut in the early days. And probably traveling on the road so daggone much, they probably didn't have time, either.

@airborneassasin Thanks for the reply!!! Never read that before. Wonder what Ricky's excuse is though, I'd say he's makin' enough for a cut lol. Not sure where he's getting they had long hair in the "early days" at either? Nobody I listen to (Mr. Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, Reno & Smiley, Jimmy Martin, Jim & Jesse, etc) had long hair. In fact can't think of anyone in Bluegrass OR Country who had long hair back then. But oh well, when you're as good as Ricky he could wear a fruit hat & it'd be ok

@JJayFin & that ain't saying much, lol (tho I would imagine when Roy was doin' Hee Haw he may have been bigger, even if he wasn't Buck). These shows are AMAZING (& such a blessing to see) but the star power really slipped from the originals they did. And even with all the great cats that were on the old ones like Ferlin, Kilgore, Skeeter, Box Car, Justin Tubb, Del Reeves, etc I always wondered why none of the SUPER stars like Loretta, George, Faron, Buck, or Hag participated. What was up wt that
