I dont know what was into Hines this game-----hes one of the bigger hitters on the team but its like he was headhunting this whole game. Hines got a penalty earlier in the game I think, on a 2nd play instead of trying for an INT on a ball thrown almost right to him hes more concerned with smashing McNutt, and on this play he shouldve gotten a penalty. Ease off the Monster Drink & have some more self control against Michigan!!
Not justiying the hit....just pointing out a few other things to consider. The refs blew two calls on the play.....since Robinson was beyond the line of scrimmage and Jermale Hines hit him a split second before the ball arrived, the refs should have called PI....but at least 2, maybe 3 Iowa linemen were beyond the line of scrimmage at the time as well, so the refs should have flagged Iowa for linemen illegally down field on the play.
You're going to get a ton of OSU fans justifying this hit.

the game was clean up to this point... 2 problems with this play... 1 - he was a little early, but the bigger one was definite helmet to helmet, he lead with his helmet, his arms are covering his chest, and the biggest one was he left the ground... robinson was knocked out from his helmet getting smashed from the OSU player... that was a piss poor job on this play, but the rest of the game was pretty fair... as far as the "unfair" OSU calls, those calls can go either or, iowa had the same calls
