    R.I.P, Ronnie James Dio,

We pray for you Tony, We need you back, more than anytime!

  • The camera work sucks, but the audio is quite good for a 20 years old vhs tape!

    Thanx for sharing mate.

  • "rob has 4.4.5 octaves". wow i can only tell that you heard one jp +this songs or you are totally deaf. you wont find similar voice to rob, more easy to find such voice like Plant has .... yea Mccafferty is amazing he can still sing telegram with full power.

  • σκίζει κωλοτρυπίδες ο Iommi εδώ....!!!!!

  • By the way why can't fans of Dio or even fans of Halford respect each singer, just the way THEY did have respect for EACH OTHER! Both are great but have very unique styles..it's like comparing apples to oranges, both are fabulous fruits yet some people prefer apples and other people oranges. Doesn't mean one or the other tastes better, because that's pure subjective ;)

  • Quoteof the Metal God himself: "I've never sung in falsetto. Falsetto is a soft version of the high range. It's like faking a high and I've never done that. All of my highs are pure and intense in the octave that I am performing them in. When Phil Anselmo said to me, 'You never sang falsetto -others do but you don't, bro.' - that's a compliment."

    - Rob Halford, Metal Maniacs, May 2005

  • A lot of people say Rob sings his high notes in falsetto but he actually uses his full voice when singing high notes.

  • I would pay so much money to see these guys together live...

  • They should do an album together under the moniker of Judas Sabbath.

  • Ha ha, Halford went all scream and adapted to a difficult Dio rendition. Halford is not metal lord for nothing. Not the same as how Dio would have sung it, but great in its own way. Stop arguing, you idiots....yeah, you know who I am talking to.

  • @CrimsonKing589051 but that's the whole poin of being a great artist: not immitating but making it your own. I love Black Sabbath with Rob! And he is such a good sport, to do this because we all know why he sang this evening.

  • OHHHHHH MY DIO!!!!!

  • nice try,but still far far away from Ronnie... I love Halford, but Dio is something else,PIECE OF OUR HEARTS!!!

  • mr.beroth are you serious about falsetto? you must be deaf to tell it about Metal God.

  • Comment removed

  • @therippperrr for crying out loud if Rob is noy the falsetto man what is falseto anyway???what singr uses falseto?? Ralford ,king diMOND,,gILLAN,ALL HIGH NOTES ARE FALSETO ,YES,COMPLETELY,MERCURY USED A LOT TOO.bUT I'M NOT SAYING THEY ARE FAKING OR SOMETHING ... IS A STILE.BUT YES AFTER I SAW RIPPER,BONNET,HORIBLE TIME,TRYING TO SING DIO,YOU REALIZE THAT THIS HIGH OCTAVES VERY HIGH NOTES ARE NOT THAT HARD .... CAUSEIF THEY WERE, THESE GUYS WOULD SING DIO EASLY.AND ...DID THEY? RSRSNOOOOO

  • dio was tired of being the great reason of sucess of his divas band partners like blackmore and yommi, and still was treAted as an enploeeof these self tought dinossaurs.ths more e guys didnt acepted the fact dio was more charismatic, and they shouldnt have realized that this combination of stage and crowd tottal control by dio with his skills vocally would make him the star ...by very far in rainbow, or sabbath.i used to hear dio didnt sung ozzy material well.

  • Comment removed

  • that kind of vocals dio did in dehumanizer rob would never get a clue how to do ....and other great ones either.he did well not trying to copy the stile...caus he would make a fool of himself.too bad the song lost its fear factor dio puys in his vocals...rob really scares no one hahah.but sung good.this one

  • With Priest retiring, Rob should do an album with Sabbath.

  • Halford destroys this. metal god

  • Although I do not really tolerate this number to be sang by anyone else than R.J.D. but I must say that Rob did helluva good job out there... R-E-S-T-E-C-P

  • Arrechisimo...

  • Halford is the best...

  • The best tribute the Metal God could give to the mighty Dio is singing in his own style instead of trying to imitate. This is totally KICK ASS!! Who the fuck cares about his personal life, Halford is still the man! God Bless Ronnie James Dio. You are missed sir.

  • that was epic! Am a huge Priest fan, does anyone know more details about this gig? Like how it came about that Rob fronted for Black Sabbath?

  • @sturgis007 This was at Ozzfest and after priest had already played, Ozzy became very ill...he asked Halford to step in because he didn't want to cancel the show...I think it's awesome...Those fans got to see something that no one else will ever see.

  • @AreTripsGood sorry dude this was not ozzfest this was the Costa Mesa,Los Angeles show and sabbath was on there Dehumanizer tour dio would not open for ozzy osbourne ...so thats why Rob Halford did the set i was at this show it was in 1992 i dont even think there was an Ozzfest then u need to check ur facts!!

  • @sturgis007 rob fronted this gig because i believe sabbath was opening for ozzy and dio being an hot head thought he was better than that and refused to sing the gig, so halford came and saved the day :D

  • @TheHalfordFreak dio thought he was better than that?? hahahah thats a factnot a dio .... but it was not even what really happened.google the story.rob desearves respect for being brave acepting he chalenging.but it was 50/50...half fiasco, half good performances.i mean in dio's songs.but more important ...brave attitude, cause he is basically a falseto man, opositete full voice dio stile.

  • Comment removed

  • @beroth77 are you a singer ? how can anyone think that rob doesnt used falsetos,al,i mean all the time.when note is alitle high he goes imediatly to falseto,,..nothing wrong ...is his stile and fit sgood.in HIIS material.Nkw Graham Bonnet?Exelent singer kinda rob's stile only with a stronger voice.but the same kind of very high falsetos.the guy haas a range sile 4.4.5 octaves.like Rob basically.he sung in rainbow after dio left.never nailed dios ranbow material even heaving a higher range.

  • @beroth77 i listen this guys since 92 ... so i know the story ...i dont need to look on google.takea listen at jeff scott soto in malmsteen yers 84-85.in klaus meine(catch yur train, virgin killer),in noddy holder.than get a notion of what is singuing high with tottaly full voice.Plant in studio too..amazing(since i've been living you)...Dan Mccafferty from Nazareth live version of telegram, and shapes of things.LIVE !. hardest screamed raspy strong voice ever ,miles ahead. texas 82 on youtube

  • ALL HAIL ROB HALFORD METAL GOD!!

  • too bad I can't hit the I like button more than once..

  • ...Black priest's

  • 'Dudu that was totally bad ass!"

  • q titanes lml

  • God of Gods met Metal God this is Divine War

  • Anyways, both of them were great singers.

    Different singing styles....

But in my oppinion Halford has more raw power...and he can obviously sing Dio songs live, while Dio couldnt possibly sing any Priest song to sound agressive/Halford style.

Dio just wasnt a screamer. :)

  • And this was the era when Robs voice was fucked up.

Imagine his singing this in 83...he would fucking rock the shit out of ur head :D

  • LOL..beroth77 is eating ZeBlackCat for breakfast!!! good job dude! I think the only thing i can agree on ZeblackCat is that Dio (the band) did 10 studio album and not 30 in tottal in his whole career. The remak about your English lessons was immature and not necessary but hell.. at least you can comunicate in 2 language just like i can :) anyway.. Long live Dio!

  • do i look like i care if you are serious about me taking english lessons?i can comunicate very well with english speakers....even with my mistakes.y argument is totally valid ,to show Dio's versatility.and i proved that.and i'm still waiting for some highs by rob live that are really hard to reach...LIVE! SHOW ME i've reached all his highs"" live i've seen show me one really hard

  • You're still Number 2 in my book Rob, good job...

  • That's just fuckin cool!

  • I was at this concert, right after the band walked off the set. They came back on with Ozzy Osborn, they played about a hour of the old tunes. It was so awesome that night.

  • You got to bleed for the dancer!

  • Metal musicians should do this more often.

Alot of them have to put their egos aside and just give fans random performances that they'd like to see (like Rob singing a couple of tunes with Black Sabbath or Dave Mustaine playing something other than "Am I Evil" with Metallica...like "Phantom Lord" or "Four Horsemen"), but wouldn't expect.

  • only Halford could sing something written by and for Dio.

  • @amarparis17 No one can...but check out (for real)heaven and hell and neon nights played by twisted sisted are the best by far dee snider singes preeatry welll way better than halford much more close to dio without losing his own stile.

  • @amarparis17 Ripper sing it better than Halford

  • @vunly Ha ha ha ha..... No...

  • marshalls? was tony on the outs with laney at the time?

  • @deathbloodydeath ... You r right in your comment. they are all diffrent. as i said... i like priest n i think that Rob is a great singer without a doubt, but those high pitch just doest do it for me to much, but that just my taste, i like Bruce a little bit more and without a doubt Dio the greatest vocalist in music as far as im conserned,

  • @nayjayjee Fuck Ozzy!! BOBBY IS DA MAAAAN!!!!

  • It's ok, I usually get bored with Dio after he starts singing about the Dragons and wizards...which is pretty much every song he's ever done.

  • @Lucipher28 .. i bet you dont even own one single record of Dio, you r just going for wat critics n media say. yes, Dio has allways incorporated fantasy themes in his songs, but with the reality of todates living in life. good n evil and so forth. basically is music that requires alot of emagination, whichyou probably dont have much. to say that all his songs are about dragons its stupid. but anyway, if you dont like Dio, why the hell are you on a dio sabbath song video? just cuz of rob? PLEASE!

  • @MetalkingDio I own two Dio albums actually, so try again kiddo. ...and yes, I posted because of Rob, ya know, the person they call THE METAL GOD? Go to bed, little boy, you're boring me. *Yawn*

  • @Lucipher28 LMFAO.... The only thing little is wat you have beteween your legs!!! You own two Dio albums??? LMAO... and you are judging and still have the audacity to talk shit about the King of metal? lol. you r the boring one... jajaja... go suck Robs cock, im sure he is a top n you a fucking ass bottom fag!!!

  • @MetalkingDio lol, someone needs a midol. Go to bed, little girl.

  • @Lucipher28 lol.. wats wrong buddy... cant handle the truth?? LMFAO!!!

  • @Lucipher28 ... so you like wrestling? lol.. i bet u will love to crawl on the floor with Rob, LMFAO!!!!

  • @MetalkingDio hahhahaha well put

  • Comment removed

  • @beroth77 You might want to catch up on your English classes before you start teaching others the lesson. Also, Dio in his solo project only made 10 records... All in total I think 30's quite a bit much even with all the other bands he played in.

As for who is and who isn't a metal god, I do believe those are opinions based on taste. So there's absolutely no need to correct people on that.

  • @ZeBlackCat i dont need "cath up" my engish" i'm brazillian.....when you write a message to me in correct portuese i'll think about it...i bet you think you dont need it at all... welll.... try to leran about brazillian music .....than you'll see how your notions about music were limited...and basic and simple...

  • @ZeBlackCat right how many records rob did in all the bands he sung in...and how many they were ?if you show me dream deceiver llive in the same octave as he does in studio i agrre tottaly with you...butt...youwnt find ...wonder why LOL show me one!!! just one,,,at his""best"

  • @beroth77 I am not entirely sure what you're trying to tell me here, I can guarantee you I was very serious about those English lessons. And I'm sorry if I proved your statement about Dio wrong, he just DOESN'T have that many albums out. However your argument/request is invalid and completely besides the point, why the hell should I look up for you on how many albums Rob sung? And that other request I can't even read from you...

Do I look like I care?

  • @ZeBlackCat ... Ronnie james dio has 20 albums under his belt! 10 w/dio (the band) 4 w/sabbath, 3 w/raimbow and 3 w/elf and i think there is a full studio album with Elves so maybe 21. Rob has 16 w/priest. Maiden 15 and ozzy has 19 in tottal 11 solo and 8 w/sabbath. Dont know about any metal singer who has been able to achieve 3 classic influential albums with 3 diffrent bands. 1. Rainbow/Rising 2.Sabbath/heaven and hell 3. Dio/holy diver. Thats why his the King of Metal! thank you!

  • @MetalkingDio Although it brings a smile on my face that you show me you can count for no reason, even though that meant you had to retract your statement of 30 albums. I honestly don't know what you're arguing about.

There's no such thing as a true metal god as I told you before. It's based on tastes and opinions, so feel free to obsess on Dio. But you truly are a little poser if you think YOU can crown someone god by the quantity of cd's and notes he hits.

  • @ZeBlackCat .. first of all.. put your reading glasses on when you comment here in youtube. you obviously have me mistaken im Metalking. 2. never did i mention anything about 30 albums by any band and the reason why i wrote the amount of studio albums done by those bands i mention was to educate a little in the argument you where having with beroth77. 3. I never called Ronnie a God, but he sure is the king of metal in my opinion n the opinion of millions in metal music. n yes.im obsess n love it

  • @beroth77 He did Dreamer Deceiver live 1975 in the original pitch, search for it ^^ Whyat's up with the Dio vs. Halford anyways? They're both great, and totally different in styles. At least Halford can sing Dio's songs live. Imagine Dio sing Painkiller, The Sentinel or Freewheel burning =) Probably the two best singers of Metal.

  • A Rob Halford led Black Sabbath was probably the best thing that never happened...Rob in his prime was miles better than Ozzy and Dio...no question.

  • @Lucipher28 Dio wins out of those three for sure.

  • @holyrebels Not even close. There hasn't been many over the years that could do what Rob could do. I love Dio, don't get me wrong, but I usually get bored after hearing the same 7th or 8th song about Wizards and dragons.

  • @Lucipher28 .. Robs screaming vocals its trully irritating to say the least. i like judas priest but after the second song i have to listen to something else, i prefer bruce dickinson and maiden any fucking time. about ozzy... his singing is just to dam borring that duck voice that he has i cant stand it. with Dio is all diffrent, that deep crisp passinate, powerful voice and those fantastic poetic lyrics its everything to me. Dio's voice captivates the listener. thats my opinion!

  • @beroth77 stop measuring singers for technique...

Halford is a GOD like Dio cause they have a so emotional voice and they've wrritten a big amout of great songs...their voice are emotional and full of passion!

Yes it's a personal point of viewbut ithink music and art it's something not objective,it's only a question of tastes, based on emotions...and emotions are something personal...

  • Comment removed

  • @Lucipher28 agree about ozzy... who isnt better anyway lol;;;;but even halford surprising me positively here... he has no punch no anger..no fear ,pain strenght in his voice.dio beat halford first round....no chance.halford=pure falseto always...it makes him less...yessss smaller than a full voice singer like dio.but rob was not bad i agree.just children of the sea and neon nights he really made one of the worst singing ever....ugly to see.

  • Damn it's good ! :O

  • both are the best in the business (being metal) with 2 completely different and unique voices. Although I think Rob's better, he can't touch Dio on this, still a decent cover though

  • Halford looks like slenderman

  • Dude! EXCELLENT quality for a bootleg!

  • omg fucking awesome!

  • That just grabbaed ya by the nadds.

  • NO heaven for the lost soul that disliked... just hell

  • holy shit this gives me goosebumps, fucking awesome version

  • Rob has an amazing vocal range! I love the way he says 'evil' in the first verse!

  • @xIronWarlordx c'mon falseto easy as hell..

  • this is giving me chills

  • Skąd ten człowiek bierze tą moc. Chyba z kosmosu. Innego wytłumaczenia nie ma.

  • Niewiarygodny fenomen tkwi w tym człowieku. Dokonać czegoś takiego co się nawet Dio nie śniło.

  • Where in the world did you come up w/ a collection like this ?? awesome,,different...

  • why is he singing for sabbath? Wasn't Dio in the band in 1992?

  • @thalesamf Dio was a fucking diva and refused to sing for Sabbath because they opened for Ozzy and his contract just ended.

Shits like that happened multiple times and it still baffles me that some people call him a nice guy.

  • @DavidDavidsonful .... Hey David you are an IMBECILE. Your comment clearly shows you dont know anything about Ozzy, Dio and Sabbath!!!!!! and if you dont know nothing about those 3 you sure as hell dont know nothing about Metal music!!!!

  • @thalesamf that's a fuckin' shame, isn't that? he's an awesome singer, professional... but as a person, according to what you said, i can't say the same thing...

  • Rob Halford does ok with the Ozzy Sabbs covers, but can't near Dio.

  • @ipatey I think that he is better covering Dio... Ozzy's voice is too unique, Dio has more to do with Rob's supernatural technique.

But that's just a matter of oppinion =)

  • Happy B day Rob!!! One of the best songs ever.

  • @nayjayjee Rob is God.

  • that was disgusting, nobody can replace dio

  • Dio does it better but I must say Rob Halford does a wicked job singing it himself

  • @coreybussey Amen to that brother, no-one will do it better then Ronnie himself but Rob adds his own little touch to it, i love it

  • Oh man, I envy any one who got to see this live. I wasn't even alive when this happened!!

  • @CommanderYammark love that you're a kid from the 90's and listen to bands like Black Sabbath! ;)

  • this is so awesome!!!!!!

  • love rob but he he can't touch ronnie on this song

  • i was at this show in costa mesa, ca. sepultura was the opening act followed my sabbath w/ rob then ozzy.

  • does a good job on this

  • Please dont mention the Scorpions when I'm listening to the all time greatest Metal band. It kinda of ruins my day.

  • Holy fuck.

  • 4 guys....pure metal.....

  • Heaven and hell is Dio's. Why he greeted Ozzy?

  • @Turpat Ozzy is there

  • @Turpat Because Ozzy played later that night.

  • @Turpat Because at the end of the concert, Ozzy reunited with the band & played a set with them.

  • can anyone see anything? all of my computers stoped playing youtube at once.

  • halford certainly did this song justice. after seeing this, i'd have liked to have heard priest cover this on a record. when rob was ain his prime, there were only a few vocalist that were on his level. just an incredible voice that was perfect for heavy metal.

  • Klaus Meine would have done it way batter. All these mentioned singers and bands are giants ...no doubt...but scorpions are in the same level. For those who really know their 70' work

  • @beroth77 Klaus Meine has nothing on Dio or Halford. They are way better. But Klaus has a very clean voice =)

  • Pure genius!!!

    Love this combo.

  • unforgetable solo of Tony!!!

  • Dio was right to not do this show. Why the fuck should he open for Ozzy? So Tony and Geez could reunite with Ozzy and throw Dio in the trash? I don't think so.

  • These were great times my friends, great times indeed.

  • Rob's clean vocals are pure evil

  • pas d'enregistrements audio de ce concert?

  • @Valfodr666 Tu télécharges le concert et tu extrais la bande audio

  • Maginfique, cette chanson va tres bien avec la voix de Rob, super!!!!!!

  • ROB HALFORD IS THE METAL GOD.

    no one can disagree

  • respect to all other dingers that have done this song with Sabbath. But this was by far the best version ever.

  • @PijnigeR - Agree, Halford's vocals weren't perfect for some of the other Dio-era Sabbath songs, but this one is perfect. Can't imagine any other singer sounding better.

  • @TheFranklin7777 I think Tim Ripper Owens would pull this off quite well as well. He often sounds a lot like Dio actually. But Rob nails this like no other person could. At least no known singers.

  • I was at this show!!!!!!

  • lol at the knoheads in the crowd shouting ozzy

  • This song is so fuckin good with Halford!

  • Scorpions is the one off t he best band ever

  • @MrCarlo3338 Judas Priest and Sabbath destroy scorpions.

  • @CrushJehovah In your dreams

  • @CrushJehovah I bet they're also pretty effective at getting rid of spiders, too.

  • @CrushJehovah Yes and no!! the scorps had some good shit too man i prefer Priest though

  • @CrushJehovah all day buddy u got it right

  • Rob had quit Priest at this point I think. According to the book 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath - The Battle Of Black Sabbath', Tony approached Halford about joining the band for a sort of "Best Of" tour, where Gillan and Hughes and as Tony hoped, Ozzy too would be a part of, playing songs from every era, w. different members, past & present at the time. It unfortunatly never happened though.

  • Love it when Halford sings this more lol

  • Great performance:D

  • imagine if halford formed a band with sabbath...

  • OMFG EPIC!!!!!!!

  • Sorry, but I think, this song is better with Rob, Ray or Tony. That part from 6:02 is terrific!

  • HEAVY METAL FOR LIVE

  • Yeah, Halford is pretty nice as a temporay Bmack sabbath singer :)

  • @angsthewicked

I gotta say, they made an excellent descision.

It would be a no-brainer for me to choose Rob, but they definitly made the right choice. The perfect singer to represent Sabbath TBH.

  • This is among the greatest things I've ever heard. The metal god's voice fits this song perfectly. And Tony and the rest of the gang are on top of their game as well.
