Hi SassiTheKitty - you can't actually tell whether this is a male as it will take a full year for it to show male colouring. After the first moult the juvenile female looks the same as a fully adult female. Whereas the juvenile male moults and remains brown for a full year - I think they are called 1st-winter males when they are still brown. Until they turn black their beak stays this brown colour just like the females.. confusing eh?
heey can i ask if these worms are maggots? or where can you get these worms since you sound brittist ^_^
please let me know because i have a baby blackbird juveniled.
