When Economic Hit Man first came out I looked at the catalog of the publisher. All of the books on that catalog would have embarrassed Alex Skull-n-Bones Jones. UFO's all over the place. John Perkins did do these things but books like his are recommended for kids who need something to get them interested in reading & politics. I would ? everything in Perkins' book. If you're looking for easy politics, ie America bad, Noriega good, read this book. That is almost as bad as America right or wrong

From what I remember of a review: the reason no one would publish Perkins was b/c of how little of his reporting was checkable including his job & work history. I guess he could say that his job was so sensitive (HA!) that no one would give out the info & that he had to sign all kinds of non-disclosure statements etc. The reviewer was a lefty but still gave it a bad review. He said it was for political neophytes who need something to get angry about

This guy does a pretty poor job of explaining the boo, but it is a great book and really explains how free market capitalism and even democracy has been replaced by a soviet style corporatocracy complete with single party politburo... all the incumbents in congress, currently 94% in the house and 83% in the senate.
