  • violin is my passion though im not very good! going to practice and practice this song :D sounds so pretty!

  • Good playing, although I don't think you really payed attention to dynamics.

  • oh jeez ive been playing this for what..... 2 days and im not NEARLY as good as him :D well its obly been 2 days so..... :L

  • Really long. I'm playing this for a solo and luckly i don't have to do all these repeats!!

  • I'm working on this piece, good reference^ ^

  • Each person can play any song but it takes a real and true violinist to make music as beautiful as this is. All I can say is good job

  • Hi, I really love your playing...

I am also playing the same song

In boree 2 - section 2, I noticed that you played an Eflat when the piece said Enatural...

As well as boree 1 - section 13.

Those are just little things that I noticed.

Other than that, I enjoy your violin playing, very much!

    I hope this helps! :)

  • Thanks! I'm playing from an ancient Suzuki book from nearly 19 years ago. :) Some of the notes were different back then.

  • It's really amazing, but in the Baroque period they didn't use vibratos, and there you did so many vibratos.

  • This sounds so nice, I also have to do this for my solo and it's in January and I still didn't

    Start practicing yet...

  • I have to play this for my solo this year and I've got some work to do:P

  • Too fast, poor tone quality. Exelent vibrato and intonation.

  • I'm playing this for my solo this year and this video really helped me figure out the rhythms

  • p.s.s. Last one- Biggest tip, to switch to third- start with your 2nd finger on C on A string, then as you slide down aiming to land your 2nd finger on E (formally played as 4th finger on A string) let your 1st finger anchor on D,let yourself her the awkward slide. It teaches your ear to find E-lock your finger then hit G with 4th finger on A string (the hard part). Then once you have it you can stop playing the note in between on the slide and your hand will remember how to go there on its own.

  • p.s. Good luck finding the exercises they are not always Googleable. Also, good luck finding someone to translate them into 3rd and 4th position and teach you how to slide there. This should be taught before vibrato. Kids suck at vibrato and it hurts the ears of us all. That's the down side of Suzuki- you kids aren't ready for vibrato yet- but yet it's thrown in for fun??

  • Go back to old French methods. The idea is to play many short exercises 5-10 minutes each- single string and double stops, etc. AND instead of playing in first position mix it up- write the finger numbers for 3rd to 4th position. Long story short, the French taught their youth this way. If you want to NAIL this piece for recital- try to challenge yourself with simple French exercises in 3rd and 4th position (good luck)- THEN go back to this and you'll slaughter your age group.

  • I'm gonna play this for my solo, and i'm ahead of everyone in books and class for the solo ensemble. lol :)

  • I am getting better at the song and this video helps me a lot, it is actually pretty easy when you think about it. Just needs practice and it will sound great, thanks.

  • @kopikostar LOL...nice one...add me ok?

  • amazig, i'm learning piano and the suzuki method is the best

  • I am learning this song right now, any chance i can get some tips? I am 13 but a very good player.

  • @kevin4never I decided to go with a different song, concerto no. 5 1st movement and it is coming out really really good, I have to play in a solo contest, but I think even though you have everything ready you should practice anyway and get better.

  • Started violin at age 10 started to learn how to play this at age 13 O-O...

  • I'm playing this for my solo!!! But i'm not this good! Keep up the good work dude!

  • I SUCK AT THIS SONG!! and i have a recital with this piece on Saturday. I just can't get the measures before the first key change.

  • in the 3st part of the song you played E b and it wasn't E b, but it was very good. Sorry if I have written something bad because I don't speak english very well :-)

  • Your'e really good!

  • you play fine, but it's not good to listen to, please play this song with more passion and crescendos/ diminuendos ;)

  • Very nice work! I remember I learned this one in 6th grade or so. It's a fun little piece. I remember I used to think it was very hard back then, but now (as a freshman in high school) it's quite easy and makes for nice playing. :)

  • it's really disgusting, kids that young shouldn't be able to play THIS GOOD

  • @1954telecaster I'm 23 years old...

  • @kopikostar you're 23? no kidding! i thought im looking at a young boy's hand playing violin!! lol. anyway, congratulations, this is really very good.

  • @kopikostar lol...the thumbs up match your age :3...btw awesome playing. I have to play this for a solo for my midterm and I'm freaking out and after I heard you play I had a MUCH better idea! Thankyou!

  • @1954telecaster how is it disgusting?

  • @1954telecaster

    What the heck?

  • @1954telecaster who ever said the age group of the students that he's teaching?..and even if they are young children, why shouldn't they be capable to perform at this level? i began playing violin in the 2nd grade, by the 4th grade i was playing complex music such as this. my vibrato was crapy but i could still play Bach, tchaikovsky and many other advanced music. dedication is key. secondly, he might have only been trying to show them how its played.a visual can assist greatly in music reading

  • Thanks! This really helped, i couldnt get the rythmn. And its ice NOT to have 4 year olds play it for a change: Theres nothing wrong with it, and im glad they are playing it well at such a young age, but being 14 it makes me.... Sad.

  • I have to learn this song by Friday for chamber auditions. :/ any tips to help me do better on it?

  • @taylorgangae98 Hmm...I've never seen you play, but I think if I can motivate you to practice harder and to work really hard to make better sounds as best as you can by Friday, that's all you need to do. :) No matter how you play you'll feel great, because it's your best. And after the auditions, just keep trying to improve. I think that's the best attitude to approach auditions :)

  • Bach and vibrato? I think not. Why do you feel it is necessary?

  • @181960will Why not the player does it really well. I know Bach's music/ pieces are normally played with an organic touch ,but their is nothing wrong with moderation.

  • I love your playing your gr8 man, but try interpreting more the acentuations, it sounds all too "forte" try making the pianos more evident, anyways gr8 piece and interpretation! thanks a lot

  • thanks!!

  • Hello, nice playing :) Advice for vibrato with the 4th finger? I find I can sometimes do it and sometimes can't, I don't know. It is never like, as fast as I would like it though. My teacher says to put the finger straight, are there any more tips? Thanks :)

  • @DesiFuyuko I find that putting the third finger down next to the pinky when you have to pinky vibrato helps a lot. I have a weak puny little pinky and it really helps to have the support of the macho third finger.

  • @kopikostar Thanks for the tip. I find it working for me too hehe :) I need to practice it now.

  • Beautiful! I am so glad you recorded this.

  • What brand and material strings do you play? I love the tone and I may consider buying the strings you use the next time mine need replaced

  • Wow it's like your violin playing is so unreal! 0o0

  • Que bien tocas! Pero necesitaba ver los arcos :(

  • oohhhh~~~i love the accapella part XD

  • i play suzuki on my violin and i think you play great!!!

  • Yay! I can finally play along with you! Thanks so much ^_^

  • i hate the lil numbers on music it makes me messup like no joke :( my eyes want to see the music but all i see are numbers :( and i play the wrong note on the wrong string :(

  • @WinsterG Me too^^ You should black them out ;D

  • @HellomuSic1296 haha XDD

why would i need to do that now? its over :P thankfully.

  • Thank u!! :D that helped me a lot!!!!

  • Where is your violin from ( make) ?

  • could you tell me how to play the dolce part

  • Thanks!

I have a solo coming up with this song, and this video rly helped;)

  • Pretty playing! I've been learning for almost 2 years, but by myself and I start real violin lessons for the first time tomorrow haha I hope my teacher has me buy Suzuki books! ^_^

  • Only if I could play like that... but like my brother says, I'll probobaly suck forever. But then again, I think I sound good, my friends do, family, and music teacher say I sound like a pro. But whatever, my dreams aren't important. You are AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • That was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could do it as well as you. I play Suzuki violin too, and play this piece, but without the tremolos.

  • Beauitful!

  • your awesome!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent! I usually play allsolos way to fast, this helps a tone, thanks.

  • wow! amazing performance! this helped me a lot, i was having trouble hearing the piece.

  • I tried out for the youth symphony with this song [on cello] and got in the best group!!

  • im playing this song now and i really think you did good people tell me you have to be older but im only in 6grade so hahahahaha but 2 thumbs up

  • what grade is this peice

  • this is an amazing help! learning it now, great playing=)! xxx

  • I think you should play a little bit faster, but so is also nice

  • This helps a lot. Thanks! And you play so beautifully.

  • do you know what scale to play for this piece?

i need to play a two octave for this audition saturday

    Please help me (:

  • @twilightrulez9 G major scale might help the most. But you should learn as many scales as you can. It'll help you to be better at so many different situations.

  • where i find the accompaniments that you use?

    sorry i dont speack english..

  • @azaelmoskau The Suzuki accompaniment books? I think you can find them in any or most music stores.

  • @azaelmoskau download the suzuki violin method and you will have the violin sheets and the accompainments

  • This kid has talent. Hope he stays with it.

  • Actually, it sounded good to me, I just noticed the notation, because I am learning.

  • Hi, I love your playing of this tune, and am learning quite a bit from your playing. I have one question. I notice in the dolce part that you play a couple E flats where the book notation calls for an E natural with an open string. What is the reason for this? Is the notation incorrect? Thanks, sincerely.

  • @purplemailbox LOL the reason? You have good ears and you can hear my out of tune-ness.

  • @kopikostar I do not see, or hear, you play an E-flat anywhere.

Where (time) do these reputed errant notes occur?

  • @kopikostar there's a newer version of the book, which changed some of the notations.

i didn't hear any out of tune-ness; but then i'm just a student, only a level higher, so just my 2cents. thx for this video, n grt play.

  • @purplemailbox I know what you mean. I have a Suzuki with naturals where it should have been flats. Your notation is incorrect as was mine. You have to listen and figure out which ones the flats are. Tis guy is playing it the way it should be

  • Would it be possible to make another video w/out the piano background and maybe a little slower...I find it very helpful to play along.

  • sheet music? btw ur fantastic

  • @boomer4666

    Suzuki book 3

  • I am playing this song and have to have it mastered by September, but I'm having some problems with the bowings, do you have any advise? P.S. I know this is a stupid question and you will probably answer with "just practice a lot", I was just wondering if you had any advice or tricks you use.

  • @Gladbeast4 That's not a stupid question! It's a good one. Usually you want to do your best to follow the slurs and the extra up bows written in the music because you want to try to make it sound like what the composer possibly wanted as much as possible.

  • @kopikostar To make the best sound you usually want to distribute the notes as best as you can throughout the bow. Like for a slur with two notes you might want to split the bow 50/50 for each note, and for 4 notes, maybe 1/4th each note, but what matters most is how it sounds. So if you think you can change the bowing a little bit and make it more efficient to play and still make it sound even more like what the composer probably wanted, then do it! That's your job as a musician!

  • thx didn't know how it should sound when it went into the flats

  • you play this song so well! right now I am learning to play this song on the violin and so I wanted to watch some videos so I could get an idea of how it sounds. Your video helped a lot, it was great!

  • you are such a wonderful teacher.... i loved this piece when i was learning to play violin in my 30's... I haven't play 8 years and want to get back to it but i have to find all my music books first.. they're somewhere in the garage... thank you for the beautiful video. it's very inspiring!

  • ure sooo good itz just my 2nd yr playin and i just dont seem better but i do practice any advice??

  • @tigitriplehhh hmm...listen hard, keep the bow moving at all times if you want the sound to keep going. Hmm...mostly just listen.

  • @kopikostar thx

  • I can this song I learn this song when i was 4 years old on my violin ;)

  • i've noticed that when you're playing notes with your index or even your middle finger, your pinky and ring finger are held way back, with your palm facing towards you. do a lot of violinists do this or is this something that needs to be fix? (i do this too)

  • @triangleoranges It's just not as efficient. If I played any faster than that, I'd probably have some fixing to do, because my pinky would probably not make it back on time. If it sounds good, then you don't have to worry too much about it, but on the other hand, if you're getting tired real fast while you practice, then it could be something like that which will make you tired faster xD

  • may i ask, what vibrato did you use? arm or wrist?

  • @kahochan13 I never really think about it...but thinking about it now...I think I mostly use my arm, but sometimes my wrist.

  • @kopikostar thanks for the info :)

  • your amazing. i have to play this for my uncles wedding. you helped me alot. :]

  • How much do you practice a day or week?

  • @kungfupokemon123 I don't really count...but it feels like I just take out my violin whenever any time of the day between house chores etc. and play stuff. I'm guessing my total play time a day might be 2-3 hours.

  • i'm playing this song for my music finals this year hoping to get into Senior orchestra i got about 2 weeks to pull this all together... btw you did a great job.

  • @finaldestination132 Thanks! Hope you make it into the Senior orchestra. Let me know!

  • thank you soooo much i'm using this for a sympony audition and needed to no how 2 play it!! Thanks 4 sharing ur wonderful talent :)

  • Your tone is really lovely. I've used most of your demos for accuracey when I prac-tice. Beats having to pay $16 for the cd (or even used). I really appreicate the time you put into doing thiese videos -

  • im actually just now starting this song........ i have to play it by next week :O im so scared because im not good at the song lol

  • @alexas3197 don't be scared. The point is to just play it as well as you can in a week. It's never going to be perfect, but it can always be better and better! When you perform it's just showing off how good you are at that point, but after the performance, if you practice more the next day you'll still get better. That's the point and it's amazing. =]

  • @kopikostar thanks great advice thats just wat i was going 2 day!!

  • Please Reply!!

thank you for sharing your gifted talent. Could you tell me where I can get the piano note for this bourree. Please ..I need but I didn;t find . My sister will play violin, I will play piano for her.

  • @samuelh21 I think most music stores would have it...

  • It's great but I miss the right hand with the bow.

My teacher always looked after how I hold my right hand and how much pressure i put on the Saites. The left fingers shouldn't be a problem if you are in Vol. 3 with a song like this.

But you are still a great player. :)

Sorry for my bad english, I'm German ;)

  • viola?

  • @yatskee26 it is a violin

  • AWESOME!

  • you play it like it's a miracle

  • ts very helpful for me to learn all the songs....but the only thing you missed is that you have to work with the dynamic!!! Fort piano cresecendo and so on....that's a pitty but all in all very well done and thank you very much

  • ts very helpful for me to learn all the songs....but the only thing you missed is that you have to work with the dynamic!!! Fort piano cresecendo and so on....that's a pitty but all in all very well done and thank you very much

  • me and my friend are playing a duet of this song for solo and ensemble festival!! ^^

  • great job!

  • amazing :) i want to play that, though i'm still at suzuki book 2 :(

  • You'll get there soon. =]

  • Amazing. :)

  • how do u play so good!!!?!!!!?!!!?!

  • haha I'm glad you like it. Just practice a lot ;]

  • You play great ! and it really makes me study

  • Wow this is so great it sounds almost fake. I'm in awe. O__O

  • nice virbrato skills

  • Absolutely amazing! I have to play this for a recital and for judging at the String Thing. Just started, I'll use your video as a reference point on how well I'm doing! (:

  • whats your country?

  • USA

  • WONDERFUL

  • i love how you vibrato on most of the notes

  • nice..your so good!awsome.good tone & i like your vibrato..nice fingers.=)

  • thanks

  • this is great but could you try to show everything your doing including the bowing styles???? thanks your a lot of help... i learned humoresque (Dvorak) by you videos and im preforming it at a county wide contest

  • Thanks, I'd be glad to help, but my sheet music is at home and I'm in my college dorm. I usually only go home on weekends to teach, cuz I'm still a student myself. I'll try to bring my sheet music over this weekend and record some more stuff and I'll try to capture the bow too. :D

  • your playing is great keep practicing are you a teacher or a student

  • both :D

  • You should just get one and start practicing! It's fun, like learning guitar hero!

  • Oh my goodness!! I've been practicing this song for a solo I'm doing and I thought I played it really well but I guess I'm missing a technique because there is something diff. between how u play it and how I play it. But that was beautiful!!! This is really going to help me :]

  • Thanks goodluck man!

  • Well, there's the tremelo, and the vibrato, and it's probably the teacher playing that so I'd assume the teacher can probably play that with some touches that most learning wouldn't know. Lol, I'm not quite here yet, I suppose if I practiced more then I'd be better.

  • Ahh!! :) I'm sooo happy!! I got a distingush!!! Yeh!!! Wow I bet if I hadn't seen your video I wouldve just gotten a proficient thx you :)

  • dood that's awesome. I'm so happy for you!

  • THX

  • sweet vibrato and nice trill

  • That was an amazing trill in there!

  • I would love to see the bowing too, but very very good :D

  • wow !!! nice playing...

  • wow that was really good

  • Very nice job!!!!! I have to learn this for a solo competition......... I'll be looking forward to watching your vids when I need help :D

  • Hermoso!

  • Thanks for this video it very resourceful im learning this piece i have to play it today and i was kinda confused on the tempo thx

  • Hey! this is good. Can I ask for this score too I mean the note? I want to play it...is it ok? plzz...Tnx!!!

  • If you want the sheet music I'm afraid you have to purchase it, because I don't think it's legally free, but it's not expensive at all and it's very easy to get from almost any music store or by ordering online! Why don't you google for "Suzuki violin book 3" and see what you can find.

  • Hi.. I'm learning this song for this week.

I hope I'll do it well.

And yeah please do the video of the next book.. It really helps. ^^

    Thank you.

  • Thanks! I just recorded the first song in book for for kira (and one of my student who's learning it). I'm going hiking right now so i'll post it when I get back =]

  • Of course, no problem. Thank you very much.. ^^

  • I played this on a concert one week ago. I think I played it good, but your version is better...But that's okay - I'm just 13 years old. Now I'm playing the first song in volume 4. But - I can't find it here!

  • You want me to do a vid of that? I'll do one for you if you do! It's kind of late at night right now...i'll do it tomorrow =]
