Most of the time there really isn't anything going on, so you would naturally wind up running the camera recording a lot of boring crap. You just have to run the film and wait for something. none of what they saved was not something that would happen in a normal situation, prior to the first impact. Even filming the towers is not odd in that context.

You're almost right. The Naudet film supports much of the official story. However, the point you missed is that the official story crumbles when held up to any amount of scrutiny. So, what the Naudets did was work moderately hard to support a story with little factual merit.

i knew as soon as i saw that shot i had to do the whole film. the extensive shots of the towers is obviously not just handpicked from "tons of NY shots" - the key hypnosis scene is at the beginning of the movie, with the words "Television"/"Tunnel Vision"

What incredible luck:
1) Jules tapes the north tower being hit by a plane what has the American Airlines logo.
2) Gedeon tapes the south tower (sort of) being hit by a plane.
3) James Hanlon (firefighter, narrator, actor, producer, camera operator) disobeys orders and returns to the site to film WTC7 falling down.
Almost unbelievable.
