I bought a set of those new mats and neither one was sticky. I opened a couple of packs in different stores and none of the mats were sticky. I have learned to only buy the older mats (even though they are hard to find now).
Sorry about your mat. You may have already tried this but in case you haven't, rinse it with hot water and let it air dry or scrape across the surface with a scraper tool, rinse and air dry. These things should bring out the stickiness. If not, call Provo Craft and they will send you a new mat.
