for some reason Yo-Yo Ma's version of this soundtrack reminds me of other movies then just the western. some parts sounds like a scene from a mob movie situated in little italy whilst other parts have an almost asian sound reminding me of "house of flying daggers"

Love it, my friend had the Metallica cover on his profile and I was sure I'd seen a Yo Yo Ma-Ennio Morricone cover album on Pandora so I looked it up and I was graced with this. Together, they are truly an epitome of talent. An amazing piece, much thanks goes out to both Yo Yo Ma and Morricone for this music.

The Mexican Standoff possibly refers to the previous movie, For a Few Dollars More, which is also an epic scene where the music works to perfection.

I can't believe there are rap references in this post. Ennio was far more prolific and held more talent in his pinky than any of us. Rediculous comments. This collaboration was a great rendition of Ecstacy, and the perfect tribute to a great composer that wasn't afraid to think outside of the box.
