  • This is amazing! I love the beginning haha, I'm Turkish! :)

  • This is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. People with half the talent of Barbra, I hate because I just wish I could be as good. Then I see Streisand and know that she has to be from another world, or somehow she unfairly got twice as much talent as the next-most-talented person, and I am just way too in awe.

  • Hawt. totally love her eyes.

  • So funny... And on top of it all, that MARVELOUS VOICE!! Great arrangement too.

  • "Dat nite from the fit floah of the heah-um..."

Babs is one of a kind. What an entertainer...

  • She's nice ! :)

  • The upscale NY department store she's walking through is Bergdorf Goodman, across the Plaza from the famed "Plaza" hotel...they filmed the sequence in the middle of the night when the store was closed...

  • 5 people have no souls....

  • I love when Babs puts on the Mr. T. jewlery ...

  • I LOVE THE 60's

  • The voice is classic and will be remembered forever...but it's the humor I adore. And wish she would make another comedy. The woman has perfect pitch and perfect timing. No wonder she is as well known around the world ;as she is.

  • Watched this special on TV for the first time when I was about 12. I have never stopped loving her since then!

  • She's so adorable! I love her [Brooklyn] accent (:

I honestly don't know if there's a number big enough to tell how many times I've watched this! It makes my day! Never ever, ever gets old!!!! <3

LOVE BABS FOREVER + EVER!!! (and ever and ever...

    and ever!) <333

  • it is great, and a great part of history, is this store still there in NYC>

  • is this store there in NYC?

  • @joeyjosephs From what I've read, this was shot in Bergdorf Goodman. Pretty cool, huh?

  • Only in the 60's could you ever see anything like this, who would have ever guessed barbra would ever go as far as she did,Only Barbra knew!

  • she used to be so much fun.

  • Hair has never been better

  • havin' fun barbra?!

  • nice thumbnail

  • not much of a fan of Babs but those are some stunning hands she's got-so feline and elegant

  • I wish people these days would have at least half the class and talent that she does

  • The entrance used for the hansom carriage, entrance to Bergdorf Goodman's is on 57th Street... I traced her steps for this camera shot... took pictures... what an incredible rush to actually be there after watching it for soooo many years!!! And to think that when she filmed this first television special, she wasn't quite 23 years old..... PURE talent! :)

  • This is such an incredible section from this first television special... this past month, on my second trip to New York City, I visited the two locations used in the filming of this shot... first, CBS Studios (now called the Ed Sullivan Theatre) on Broadway, where I attended a taping of Late Night With David Letterman, then .. Bergorf Goodman's, on 57th and 58th streets!!! What a pleasure it was to be actually inside both these locations... pure Barbra history!!! :)

  • she has an incredible voice nd beauty

  • amazing :)

  • watch 6:40

  • She is so funny i love her

  • Her "Brother Can You Spare A Dime?" schtick makes me smile whenever I think about it.

  • God, she took over show business then like the Beatles took over rock. There had never been anyone like her. And just like the Beatles, there have been many imitators, but only one original. Also like the Beatles, her stuff is timeless, as wonderful now as it was in 1965.

  • Love her. Thanks for posting this. She's an absolute gem!!!!!!!

  • Love her. Thanks for posting this. She's an absolute gem!!!!!!!

  • 9:03

"from second ave-- theres more between me and fifth avenue than three blocks i'll tell ya..."

    i love this.

  • She was the first and most original, paving the way for Cher, Bette Midler and many others. A true American treasure.

  • I love her so much!!! She is astoundingly beautiful and talented and no one will ever replace her...TIMELESS!!

  • Hey do you think that they have her shows on DVD? I want them!

  • Yes! Her 5 TV specials from 1965-1973 are available on DVD. They are great!! Well worth getting.

  • She must be a Jewish girl from Brooklyn

  • she's incredible. i always got a kick out of how long her fingers are, too. made for piano playin', those are.

  • Hahahaha I love just listening to Barbra talk.

    She is fabulous.

I love her nails, I love her voice.

    I love her.

  • I can believe she sang: " Give me the simple life"....it's one of my favourite songs....:D...yeeeey!

  • Did anyone notice a man in the mirror at about 05:33?

  • yeah... who is that??!!

  • could be the cameraman!

  • i think he was part of the Camera crew

  • @silvanissimo lol could that be Elliott?!

  • She has huge hands.

  • Barbra is truly magnificent!!!

  • the nails

  • I can't stop laughing! "It was...Al?! all the time..." Haha one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time.

  • Holy Crap! Thank you so much for posting this! I can't get enough of the young happier Barbra

  • GO HEAD BARBRA! YOU BETTER WERK!

  • i adore her sooo much!

  • I remember when Barbra's first specials aired on TV. I loved them. I had never seen such a young person so talented, original, and self confident. And what a voice!

  • I love this. I really do. It makes me so very happy. Hah, I get home from school, and I'm all alone, and I just blast it throughout the house and sing and dance around. Thank you for posting it!:)

    Gotta Love Barbra!

  • So I'm not alone! :)

  • Hilarious! Outstanding!

  • She's beautiful.. but is it just me or are her fingers ridiculously long? hehe.. kinda strange. Doesn't really matter though, but it's just shocking.. never seen any hands on a woman like that before, lol.

  • Yes it's her nails. Long nails make your fingers look skinner and longer.

  • The song that starts at 4:50, whats that called? Or is it part of Second Hand Rose?

  • Nevermind I figured it out xD

  • it's called "give me the simple life"

  • I LOVE YOU GIRL!!!!!

  • you gotta love barbra-shes absolutely cute in this. click the thumbs up icon if you agree with me. thanks!

  • Excuse me if you have the Color me Barbra circus melody could you please post that montage? I would love very much to see that one. Thank you so much! Barbra is the best and I love seeing all of her videos on Youtube. May STREISAND live forever and ever! :)

  • I have this album, my name is barbra two...!

    GREAT!

  • love love love love Barbra! IMO The best TV special.

  • heehee

  • she's definitely lip-syncing on the end

  • GREAT BARBRA!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ahh this is like my fav monologue she does!!! soo funny! love her! "aluf lunch money" haha

  • My best friend does the BESTTTTT impersonation of Barbra. I swear, she had to be Barbra in a past life or something lmao.

  • This vocal medley is one of my all time favorite Streisand moments. Hard to believe that she was only 23 years-old at the time. The voice, that wonderful, wonderful voice!! Thanks for posting this.

  • Hilarious! She was simply an outstandingly talented singer and entertainer. Unbelievable and fun to watch.

  • I love Babs, but I notice even here when she's ostensibly trying to wax philosophical("Luxuries are meaningless!") she gets unwanted laughs. An omen of things to come?

  • BARBRA IS AMAZING... I LOOOVE HER...

  • DRAGALICIOUS!!!!!!!

Every queen I know copies this medley.

    BRAVA!

  • i agree with fernie1981. she was a much better story-teller, and i miss this Barbra too. but she's still wonderful, just more serious now.

  • Yeah, I wish she would make one or two more comedic movies. Nowadays, she's just way too serious.

  • Well there was meet the fockers, but i wanna see something where it's about her :) that'd be great, i hope she makes more

  • she was sooo much better at story telling before she became a political performer.. i miss this barbra.

  • fernie - you are so right - she can't have brain and sing-act - and produce like that for almost fifty years

  • I never knew she was ever this hip and cool

  • She is truly "The Greates Star!" lol.

she reminds me abt of myself though. :D

  • Should the title be "Second Hand Rose" as the song is?

    Great old video!!!

  • bergdorf goodman.

  • the description for this video says "upscale ny dept. store". It's Bergdorf Goodman's.

  • She is so freakin' gorgeous! What talent and intelligence. She is the only actress/singer that inspired me to go into showbusiness.

  • good for you ! She is truly beautiful... every move.. every note.. every gesture.. just a pleasure to watch. Hope you are doing well in showbusiness and not affected by the stage hands strike :(

  • thank you, onroute93. :)

  • Sooo Funny!

SHE could have been the Best Comic Actress of the Century.....but she tried so eagerly hard to be a Drama Queen and a Hollywood Diva instead, that she lost somewhere in the way all perspective of her real acting talent.

  • I totally agree. If she had taken herself less seriously and not set up house permanently in Imageville, she might have become an even more loved entertainer.

  • Taking yourself "less seriously" is a very serious and wise matter, indeed.

Just think of Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Carole Burnette, Woody Allen.

Even though, Barbra is the greatest artist in the last 40 years.

By the way, have you ever imagined a movie staring Woody and Barbra..?? God! that would be Out of this World.

    I read he admire her.

  • Yes, I would go see that movie, though I like early "classic" Barbra (like here), in black and white best. It's the Barbra I love.

  • I wouldn't say "failure" exactly.

Barbra is the greatest permorfer of the 60s 70s and perhaps 80s. but undoubtly, she needed more than a wise manager to take her movie carrear in the right way. She was deliciously funny in Funny Girl or What's Up Doc? but you better forget Funny Lady or Nuts

  • Can't say I agree about "Funny Lady". For my money, that's an even better movie than

    "Funny Girl".

  • barbra = magic!

  • that's hilarious. can u post "I'm five"?

  • o my gosh she is so funny!!!! i love her she's too cute!

  • I love the bit at around the 5:25 mark--where she does her impression of Gypsy Rose Lee.

  • Thank you for posting this video. Tremendous talent she is.

    Adore you Babs.

  • that was wonderful!! thank you for posting!

  • She is a genius! The best there is!

  • IS SHE LIP SINKING?

  • Not in the first few minutes. Then afterward of course she has to lip synch because it's a whole production piece. Her unique and somewhat spontaneous phrasing, which renowned for, makes it hard to lip synch to herself!

  • Omg, I love her!

  • she's so freaking funny. worship her.

  • People forget what a sense of humor she has, we never see it anymore, except for maybe Meet the Fockers.

  • Streisand openly admits to not being a good lip snycher, thespianalb.

  • wow bad lip syncing!

  • I love this! THANK YOU!

  • I Loved that sketch!!!!

    Babs, you GO

  • Babs at her best!!

  • What a comic !!!!!!!!

This was hillarious !!!! Do you have any more ?

  • FABULOUS!!! thank you :D
