The Photos rocked ! ... Wish I'd lived in the UK when they ( and so many other great new wave bands ) were doing their thing. It was the best period of music in history. Wayne

Get the album from Emusic or iTunes now - it's been one of my favorite records for going on 30 years now! Great stuff and really glad it's available again (my vinyl is getting in rough shape).
Blimey, takes me back a bit. I remember seeing U2 support The Photos at the Marquee (79? 80?). Saw The Photos quite a few times at The Marquee, never a duff gig, kicking off with a slow start to "Do You Wanna Dance" and then letting rip.
@scrumhalf Hey I remember that gig. Funny, I didn't think much of U2 that night, but they've done okay. I went for Wendy and wasn't disappointed. Oh to be young again...
@scrumhalf - Yep Scrumhalf I was there too - I was probably bumping into you down at the front! Whenever i hear 'do you wanna dance' I think of that version - I remember thinking that Bono was a bit odd, told my bruv that I had seen this interesting band called U2 supporting them and he went nuts saying that U2 were next big thing .. he wasn't wrong was he?! Glad U2 are still around shame The photos aren't...Steve Eagles - great guitarist.
The things you can find on You Tube! Saw this band support The Undertones at Oxford about 80/81? Great gig, then never heard of them again until today. Love it - must find an album.
Excellent post - never seen this , as its the Whistle Test bands normally played 2 or 3 tracks live any idea what the other tracks were and if possible could you post ? thanks.
Sorry, new to this - thought I could edit my firts comment. Meant to add that "Shy" and several other tracks have been added to the original, (but not released at the time) Crystal Tips and Mighty Mice, which was issued by Cherry Red after a delay of nearly 30 years!
Thanks for posting this video - it brings back great memories and now that not only the original album, but the second album Crystal Tips and Mighty Mice has been released, life is good.
Loved the band, never seen this footage before. They should have been massive

I used to be an 'arty-farty' keyboard player in the 1980's!

Yeah, there were a few good ones - Andy Peake from the Comsat Angels springs to mind.

Great band and a great song - I'm guessing this was recorded before the Look Hear TV appearence.
The Final Scene should have been a big hit.....
